This study considers the effect of smartphone involvement for purchase intentions in fashion shopping malls based on mobile web apps and on PC web apps; in addition, it investigates the correlation between purchase intention in fashion shopping malls (based on activated PC web apps) and those of fashion shopping malls (based on newly created mobile web apps). The results of this study are: First, the analysis of smartphones factors showed that smartphones consist of 6 kinds of dimensions of 'appearance involvement', 'time and information search involvement', 'application involvement', 'entertainment involvement', 'communication involvement', and 'transaction involvement'. Second, the higher the entertainment and transaction involvement among descriptive variables for smartphone involvement were due to the positive responses displayed towards fashion shopping mall purchases based on mobile web apps. Third, a higher application and entertainment involvement in the descriptive variables for smartphones resulted in a positive response displayed for purchases in fashion shopping malls based on PC web apps shown in a regression analysis that verified the smartphone and purchase intention relationship in fashion shopping malls based on PC web apps. Fourth, consumers with high purchase intention in the existing PC web app based fashion shopping malls were shown to have a high purchase intention in mobile web app based fashion shopping malls due to the results of a correlation analysis that analyzed the relationship between purchase intention in PC web app based fashion shopping malls and mobile web app based fashion shopping malls.
In this study, we identified the characteristics of mobile fashion shopping and verified the path model of effects of these characteristics on mobile fashion shopping purchase intention through perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. We conducted the survey targeting smartphone users in their 20s~30s and analyzed the structural equation model using AMOS 16.0. The results were as follows: Mobile fashion shopping characteristics (enjoyment, credibility, instant connectivity, security, and personalization) had positive effects on perceived usefulness and perceived usefulness influenced attitude toward purchase and purchase intention positively. Attitude toward purchase affected purchase intention in a positive way and perceived usefulness had indirect effect on purchase intention through attitude toward purchase. In conclusion, we proposed the marketing strategies of the mobile fashion shopping businesses.

Since 2009, consumers could access a new shopping channel called 'mobile shopping' with the generalization of smartphones. Mobile shopping (based on wireless communication technology), emphasizes convenience differentiated from internet shopping. A recent report introduced fashion products as powerful global drivers for mobile shopping sales. Korea and China have the highest percentage of consumer mobile shopping experiences compared to other countries. This study investigates the effects of cross-over shopping orientation, perception of app attributes, and flow on app loyalty that compared Korean and Chinese consumers. We obtained 652 usable questionnaires from two local college students; subsequently, data were analyzed by using factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, and regression analysis using SPSS 21.0 Package. The study results showed that the cross-over shopping orientation affected perception of app attributes that included Review/Information, Design, Response and Product. Product only affected Flow, which reflected a high similarity between Korean and Chinese consumers. However, Korean and Chinese consumers showed remarkable differences in the factors related to app loyalty. Therefore, the results indicate that retailers of fashion products have developed strategies to improve mobile sales and increase the app loyalty of cross-over shopping orientation consumers.
This study investigates relationships among mobile fashion shopping characteristics, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, and purchase intention as well as examines the mediating effect of ease of use in mobile fashion shopping. A final sample of 379 (from the distributed questionnaires) was used for data analysis. The statistical analyses used for the study were PASW 18.0 to verify the reliability of items and AMOS 16.0 to conduct confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The results were as follows. Both measurement models and structural models showed an acceptable model fit. Three constructs of mobile fashion shopping characteristics were significantly associated with perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, and ease of use. In addition, ease of use influenced perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment. Perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment had a positive impact on attitude and attitude influenced purchase intention positively. Finally, there was a mediating effect of ease of use on the relationship of mobile fashion shopping characteristics, perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment. The findings provide useful implications for fashion marketers to build effective mobile fashion shopping strategies.
Impulse buying occurs when consumers feel an urge to impulsively buy a product without thoughtful consideration of why and for what reason they need the product. However, few efforts have been made to identify the impacts of perceived scarcity on the impulse buying of fashion products in mobile shopping malls. This study's objectives were to estimate, using structural equation model analysis, the impact of a scarcity message on browsing, feeling the urge to buy, and impulse buying of fashion products on mobile shopping malls. Data was collected from 206 customers who experienced to impulse buying fashion products via objective sampling. Structural equation modeling was used to test the hypotheses developed for the study. Results found evident effects of the scarcity message on the impulse buying of fashion products directly and indirectly. Additionally, consumers felt the urge to buy had a significant impact on the impulse buying of fashion products, whereas browsing had little impact on the impulse buying of fashion products. This is an expanded study to examine structural equation modeling of impulse buying of fashion products on mobile shopping malls. These results will contribute to a better understanding of the mechanisms that underlie the operation of an effective scarcity strategy for fashion products on mobile shopping malls.
This study identifies the determinants that influence attitude toward and the intention to use mobile shopping services through fashion applications (apps) based on the technology acceptance model. In addition, gender and age group differences were examined. Data were collected from subjects who have used smartphone fashion related apps; subsequently, a total of 327 data were analyzed. About 46% of respondents were males, with a mean age of 34.4 years that ranged from 20 to 49 years old. Multiple regression models were developed based on the research model. Perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, perceived risks (security risk and quality risk), fashion involvement, and fashion app attributes (product attributes and service attributes) were employed as predictors of attitudes towards mobile shopping. Attitudes towards mobile shopping and subjective norms with the aforementioned variables measured the intention to use. Attitudes towards mobile shopping were predicted by perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, and service attributes. Attitudes toward mobile shopping and subjective norms were the most important predictors of the intention to use. Gender differences were found in that service attributes were significant for attitudes towards mobile shopping only in the male model. Age differences were also found and perceived usefulness was the most important predictor of attitudes toward mobile shopping among those in their 20's; however, perceived enjoyment was the most important among those in their 30's and 40's. Quality risk was only significant to explain intention to use among those in their 40's. The findings of this study are useful to understand the possibility of the adoption of mobile shopping though fashion apps and provide basic insight into market segmentation.
The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of mobile fashion shopping characteristics and perceived interactivity on perceived usefulness, and the effect of perceived usefulness on purchase attitude and purchase intention based on TAM (Technology Acceptance Model). We conducted the survey targeting smartphone users in their 20s~30s living in Seoul and metropolitan area. Among 483 data collected, we used 452 samples except 31 unreliable respondents for the analysis. To analyze the structural equation model, we did factor analysis, reliability analysis, and structural equation model analysis using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 16.0. The results were as follows: We confirmed 5 mobile fashion shopping characteristics (enjoyment, credibility, instant connectivity, security, and personalization) and 3 perceived interactivity factors (control, responsiveness and two-way communication, and contextual offer) as results of confirmative factor analysis. Mobile fashion shopping characteristics and perceived interactivity had positive effects on perceived usefulness. Mobile fashion shopping characteristics affected perceived interactivity and also had indirect effect on perceived usefulness via perceived interactivity. In other words, mobile fashion shopping characteristics had direct and indirect effect on perceived usefulness. Perceived usefulness influenced purchase attitude and purchase attitude influenced purchase intention. Perceived usefulness had direct effect on purchase intention and the indirect effect through purchase attitude was significant.
The purposes of this study was to investigate effects of fashion brand apps on smartphones flow and consumer satisfaction in mobile shopping. These findings provide new information to marketers for the marketing strategy for dealing with mobile shopping mall. A total of 233 usable questionnaires were obtained from men and women ages 20-30 who have mobile shopping purchasing experience. Data were analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis using SPSS for Window 22.0 and confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis by AMOS 22.0. The results were as follows. First, the analysis of fashion brand apps factors showed that it consist of 2 kinds of dimensions of basic information type and additional information type. Second, basic information type of fashion brand apps have had a direct impact on consumer satisfaction and did not affect the smartphones flow. Additional information type influence consumer satisfaction through a smartphones flow. Basic information type of fashion brand apps showed a greater impact on consumer satisfaction than a smartphone flow. A managerial implication was discussed for fashion brand marketers to develop strategies on fashion brand apps that could stimulate and increase the consumer flow and satisfaction.
