A study on Optimizing Mobile 3D Game Engine using JSR-184

  • This study focuses on modeling mobile 3D game engine and suggesting modified skinned-mesh schema based on JSR-184 in order to improve the performance in terms of memory consumption and time complexity. Most of the 3D games have used OpenGL-ES low-level APls, which may limit portability and fast developing time. Hence, the 3D mobile game engine providing high-level APls which works on GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) phones on J2ME, is proposed here in order to optimize the performance for Java environment abiding JSR-184 standard. To prove performance enhancement, skinned-mesh schema on JSR-184 engine is modified and tested. The experimental results are shown.

By means of looking into the relationship of the mobile telecommunication service characteristics and satisfaction, therefore, it can be said that it can help the companies which want to survive in such a competitive society.   • The purpose of this study was to investigate the key factors that influence consumers' preference for mobile payment in China. China has been quietly experiencing a third technological revolution that has markedly changed the way of life for its people. We used the structural equation modeling with 573 Chinese people to investigate the mobile-payment system in China based on the technology acceptance model. We found that factors such as value of service, security, convenience, and perceived usefulness have an impact on consumer satisfaction, and that satisfaction supports consumer purchasing. Also, it is possible to conclude that this proven instrument will assist researchers to further develop and refine mobile-payment research models.

  • In this paper we tried to overcome the limit of contents which occur when we implement the augmented reality technology adapted application on commercialized mobile system. First of all, we checked the requirement analysis of exclusive mobile system to support augmented reality. And then we designed and realized the mobile system based on this facts. Also we embodied augmented reality application based on NyARToolkit which assists augmented reality techniques. Finally the implemented contents operated properly in our exclusive mobile system. Consequently we confirmed the suitability and validity of our system through above test.

  • A conventional middleware system is optimized for wired computing environments.   • Mobile SNS like facebook is famous as an app which users cooperate others and share information without regard to time and place. But it is necessary to evaluate the mobile app accessibility in view of the disabled and the aged to check if they get appropriate interface service to use such a popular app. Mobile app accessibility is an indicator of equal opportunity to mobile app for all users regardless of cognitive and physical attribute. Therefore, this paper evaluates accessibility of facebook and kakaotalk mobile SNS, apprehend the status of conform to the manual, and suggest an improving way, based on 'mobile application accessibility guideline' announced by government and 'mobile application (Android) accessibiliy checking manual(v1.0)' by National Information society agency.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze characteristic of mobile commerce based on mobile internet and diagnose obstacles and suggest promotional plans in terms of for mobile commerce. First of all, this study defines the concept of mobile internet and mobile commerce as on, and then analyzes the characteristic and the status quo of mobile commerce in the aspect of technology and business and customer. In conclusion this study there are many problems to overcome to expand mobile commerce environment. However, the environment of internet is moving from online to wireless and the volume of e-commerce through internet is growing rapidly. Thus, mobile commerce will be a matter of course in information society.

  • Mobile internet service based on CDMA network evolution and multifunction mobile terminal is popular in Korea. Mobile internet service is classified as the information service using browser and mobile multimedia service using download platform. Killer applications based on multifunction mobile terminals have been developed for new business in mobile internet services. One of killer applications is location based seurvice (LBS) using mobile location information. In this paper, we develop mobile map browser using WIPI platform that is the main function in LBS. Mobile map browser interworking with GIS server provides the map information. The developed mobile map browser can be working on PDA and telematics terminals when WIPI is porting on these devices.

An exploratory analysis and usability evaluation of fashion mobile applications - Focus on Korea and U.S. App stores -

  • The aim of this study was to find typology of fashion-related mobile applications through exploratory investigation and to investigate differences in Korea and U.S. App stores. And then, through the qualitative evaluation about fashion mobile applications, this study proposes fashion mobile application's design and contents which can be preferred by users. By conducting keyword search in each store, 122 Korean applications and 150 US applications were analyzed. Empirical findings revealed that there were seven major types of fashion mobile applications: brand, magazine, information, SNS, game, shopping and coordination. Information type applications took up the largest portion, and SNS and game type applications showed higher ranking among customers. There were more game Apps in US and more shopping Apps in Korean stores. More free Apps were found in Korean App stores, whereas relatively more paid Apps were found in US App stores especially in game, magazine and information type applications. And as a result of usability evaluation of fashion mobile application, users prefer SNS and information category application to shopping and brand category. Also users want continuous improvement and new contents for fashion mobile application.
