  • Ad-hoc networks have the dynamic topology characteristics and most of the applications on ad-hoc networks require the group communication capability. Previously proposed multicast mechanisms on mobile ad-hoc networks build multicast-infrastructures like the tree or mesh for the group communication and these infrastructures nay cause significant overhead especially in a highly dynamic mobile ad-hoc network environment. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new multicast mechanism supporting multicast services based on only the underlying unicast routing tables, hence any multicast-related infrastructures like trees and meshes are not required to be constructed.

  • An ad hoc network is multi-hop wireledss formed by mobile node without infrastructure. Due to the mobility of nodes in mobile ad hoc networks, the topology of network changes frequently. In this environments, multicast protocols are faced with the challenge of producing multi-hop routes and limitation of bandwidth. We compare the performance of two multicast routing protocols for mobile ad hoc networks - Serial Multiple Disjoint Tree Multicast Routing Protocol (Serial MDTMR) and Adaptive Core Multicast Routing Protocol (ACMRP). The simulator is implemented with GloMoSim.

  • In this paper, we proposed a mobile ad hoc routing protocol based on AODV(Ad hoc On demand Distance Vector) with QoS(Quality of Service) support and evaluated the performance through simulation. The waste of communication resources is reduced by establishing the shortest route suitable to QoS support, considering in advance the usable communication resources at each node. For performance evaluation, we analyzed the average data reception rate, considering the node mobility and the number of best effort/QoS data flows. We found that in the mobile Ad Hoc networks the QoS service for some specific data flows increased the average data reception rate for the QoS data flows.

  • The Home network system means that information appliances, Home PCs, etc., using wired or wireless network method enable to control and share with peripheral devices such as internet, shared data, a scanner and a printer, and it is networking solution, which intelligent communication will be possible as the system which can do a remote control such as TV Set, refrigerators, air conditioners, DVD players, digital camcorders based on external network using an internet, a potable information terminal and a mobile phone whenever, wherever and freely. In this study, the home network interface solution is used one of the wired network standards, PLC (Power-Line Communication) technology, so we can construct of intelligent home network's home controller without re-build a network at home. On keeping with current waves of thought, we will focus on a home controller development with great interest which is enabled to do an effective managed control, applying intelligent home network technology which can be new paradigm like a cyber apartment.

  • In this paper, considering virtualized Evolved Packet Core(vEPC) network for 5G mobile network, we propose architecture for supporting Service Function Chaining(SFC) in 5G mobile network. Using SFC in 5G network, dynamic path configuration and providing network services based on subscriber and traffic information. SFC technology provides logical ordered set of network functions and delivers packet through providing logical path over the physical network. Based on the perspective of 5G core network in distributed manner, we design hierarchical SFC architecture to manage SFC for global path including vEPC and SGi-LAN network, and internal path between virtualized network functions in each cloud. In this paper, we define architecture and call flow for establishing data path using SFC. Finally, we design testbed architecture for real implementation based on open source software.

  • The home network environment can be defined as a network environment, connecting digital home devices such as computer systems, digital appliances, and mobile devices. In this kind of home network environments, there will be numerous local/remote interactions to monitor and control the home network devices and the home gateway. Such an environment may result in communication bottleneck. By applying the mobile agents that can migrate among the computing devices autonomously and work on behalf of the user, remote interactions and network traffics can be reduced enormously. The mobile agent authentication is necessary to apply mobile agent concept to the home network environments, as a prerequisite technology for authorization or access control to the home network devices and resources. The existing mobile agent systems have mainly used the public key based authentication scheme, which is not suitable to the home network environments, composed of digital devices of limited computation capability. In this paper, we propose a shared key based mobile agent authentication scheme for single home domain and expand the scheme to multiple domain environments with the public key based authentication scheme. Application of the shared key encryption scheme to the single domain mobile agent authentication enables to authenticate the mobile agent with less overhead than the public key based authentication scheme.

  • It is expected that device-to-device (D2D) communication is allowed to underlay future cellular networks such as IMT-Advanced for spectrum efficiency. This article studies the mechanisms of D2D communication and interference avoidance when the D2D subsystem reuses uplink resources and downlink spectrums with a cellular system, respectively. We firstly propose an effective scheme to establish and maintain D2D communication. Moreover, a novel method to deal with the resource allocation and interference avoidance issues by utilizing the network peculiarity of a hybrid network to share the uplink resource is proposed. Most research focuses on reusing the uplink spectrums, but how to share the downlink frequency bands is seldom addressed. To share the downlink spectrums and avoid the interference to the primary cellular devices, a labeled time slots based mechanism is proposed. Implementation details are described in a real cellular system and simulation results prove that satisfying performance can be achieved by using the proposed mechanisms.

  • Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks are self-organizing Peer-to-Peer networks that typically have highly mobile vehicle nodes, moving at high speeds, very short-lasting and unstable communication links. VANETs are formed without fixed infrastructure, central administration, and dedicated routing equipment, and network nodes are mobile, joining and leaving the network over time. So, VANET-security is very vulnerable for the intrusion of malicious and misbehaving nodes in the network, since VANETs are mostly open networks, allowing everyone connect, without centralized control. In this paper, we propose a rough set based anomaly detection method that efficiently identify malicious behavior of vehicle node activities in these VANETs, and the performance of a proposed scheme is evaluated by a simulation in terms of anomaly detection rate and false alarm rate for the threshold ${\epsilon}$.

  • Recent advancements in broadband wireless communication technologies enable mobile users to receive video streaming services with various smart devices. The long term evolution (LTE) network provides high bandwidth and low latency for several emerging mobile applications. This paper proposes the buffer aware scheduling (BAS) approach to schedule the downlink video traffic in LTE network. The proposed BAS scheme applies the weighting function to heuristically adjust the scheduling priority by considering the buffer status and channel condition of UE so as to reduce the time that UE stays in the connected state without receiving data. Both of 1080P and 2160P resolution video streaming sources were applied for exhaustive simulations to examine the performance of the proposed scheme by comparing to that of the fair bandwidth (FB) and the best channel quality indicator (CQI) schemes. The simulation results indicate that the proposed BAS scheme not only achieves better performance in power saving, streaming delivery time, and throughput than the FB scheme while maintaining the similar performance as the best CQI scheme in light traffic load. Specifically, the proposed scheme reduces streaming delivery time and generates less signaling overhead than the best CQI scheme when the traffic load is heavy.
