B2V-Tree: An Indexing Scheme for Partial Match Queries on Wireless Data Streams (B2V-Tree: 무선 데이타 스트림에서 부분 부합 질의를 위한 색인 기법)

  • In mobile distributed systems the data on the air can be accessed by a lot of mobile clients. And, we need an indexing scheme in order to energy-efficiently access the data on the wireless broadcast stream. In conventional indexing schemes, they use the values of primary key attributes and construct tree-structured index. Therefore, the conventional indexing schemes do not support content-based retrieval queries such as partial-match queries. In this paper we propose an indexing scheme, called B2V-Tree, which supports partial match queries on wireless broadcast data stream. For this purpose, we construct a tree-structured index which is composed of bit-vectors, where the bit-vectors are generated from data records through multi-attribute hashing.

  • For recent years, data broadcast technology has been recognized as a very effective data delivery mechanism in mobile computing environment with a large number of cli;ents. Especially, a hybrid broadcast algorithm in real-time environment, which integrates one-way broadcast and on-demand broadcast, has an advantage of adapting the requests of clients to a limited up-link bandwidth and following the change of data access pattern. However, previous hybrid broadcasting algorithms has a problem in the methods to get a grip on the change of data access Pattern. It is caused by the diminution of requests for the data items which are contained in periodic broadcasting schedule because they are already broadcasted. To solve this problem, existing researches may remove data items in periodic broadcasting schedule over a few cycles multiplying cooling factor or find out the requests of data items with extracting them on purpose. Both of them are the artificial methods not considering the property of data. In this paper, we propose a real-time adaptive hybrid broadcasting based on data type(RTAHB-DT) to broadcast considering data property and analysis the performance of our aigorithm through simulation study.

  • Various researches on moving object modeling, uncertainty processing, and moving object indexing have been tarried out in the field of moving object databases. However. previous location tracking systems cannot efficiently retrieve location data of vehicles, because they manage all location information of vehicles using the conventional database. In this paper, we design the vehicle location management systen that is able to manage and retrieve vehicle locations efficiently in mobile environment. The proposed system consists of a server for managing vehicle locations and mobile clients. The system is able to not only process spatiotemporal queries related to locations of moving vehicles but also Provide moving vehicles' locations which are not stored in the system. The system is also able to manage vehicle location data effectively using a moving object index.

  • The environment in Kosovo is a topic of concern for the citizens and the state because of the temperatures that affect the health of the citizens and the climate around the world. Kosovo's climate is related to its geographical position. Stretching in the middle latitude, Kosovo's climate depends on the amount of heat coming from the Sun, the proximity of the Adriatic Sea, the Vardar valley, the openness to the north. In order to better understand the climatic features of Kosovo, one must know the elements of the climate such as: sunshine, temperature, precipitation, atmospheric pressure, winds. The Meteorological Institute of Kosovo is responsible for measuring temperatures in Kosovo since 2014 and until now 12 meteorological stations have been operationalized with automatic measurement and real-time data transfer to the central system for data collection and archiving. The hydrometeorological institute lacks an application for measuring temperatures in all the countries of Kosovo. Software applications are generally built to suit the requirements of different governments and clients in order to enable easier management of the jobs they operate on. One of the forms of application development is the development of mobile applications based on android. The purpose of the work is to create a mobile application based on the Android operating system that aims to display information about the weather, this type of application is necessary and important for users who want to see the temperature in different places in Kosovo, but also the world. This type of application offers many options such as maximum temperature, minimum temperature, humidity, and air pressure. The built application will have real and accurate data; this will be done by comparing the results with other similar applications. Such an application is necessary for everyone, especially for those people whose daily work is dependent on the weather or even for those who decide to spend their vacations, such as summer or winter. In this paper, comparisons are also made within android applications for tablets, televisions and smart watches.

  • The growth of mobile devices in Internet of Things (IoT) leads to a number of intelligent buildings related IoT applications. For instance, home automation controlling system uses client system such web apps on smartphone or web service to access the home server by sending control commands. The home server receives the command, then controls for instance the light system. The gateway based RESTful technology responsible for handling clients' requests attests an internet latency in case a large number of clients' requests submit toward the gateway increases. In this paper, we propose the design tasks of the IoT gateway for handling concurrency events. In the procedure of designing tasks, concurrency is best understood by employing multiple levels of abstraction. The way that is eminently to accomplish concurrency is to build an object-oriented environment with support for messages passing between concurrent objects. We also investigate the performance of event-driven architecture for building IoT gateway using node.js on one side and communication protocol based message-oriented middleware known as XMPP to handle communications of intelligent building control devices connected to the gateway through a centralized hub. The Node.JS is 40% faster than the traditional web server side features thread-based approach. The use of Node.js server-side handles a large number of clients' requests, then therefore, reduces delay in performing predefined actions automatically in intelligent building IoT environment.

  • 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 자주 접근하는 데이터에 대한 캐싱은 무선 채널의 좁은 대역폭에서 경쟁을 줄일 수 있는 유용한 기술이다. 그러나, 트랜잭션 캐시 일관성을 지원하는 전통적인 클라이언트/서버 전략은 클라이언트와 서버간에 많은 양의 통신을 필요로 하기 때문에 이동 클라이언트/서버 컴퓨팅 환경에서는 적절하지 않다. 본 논문에서는 브로드캐스트-기반 캐시 무효화 정책을 사용하면서 트랜잭션 캐시 일관성을 지원하는 OCC-UTS (Optimistic Concurrency Control with Update TimeStamp) 프로토콜을 제안한다. 접근한 데이터에 대한 일관성 검사 및 완료 프로토콜은 캐시 무효화 과정의 내부 과정으로 완전 분산 형태로 효율적으로 구현되며, 일관성 체크의 대부분이 이동 클라이언트에서 수행된다. 또한, 분석 모델에 기반한 성능 비교를 통해, 본 논문에서 제안하는 OCC-UTS 프로토콜이 다른 경쟁 프로토콜보다 높은 트랜잭션 처리율을 얻으며, 데이터 항목을 자주 접근하면 할수록 지역 캐시를 사용하는 OCC-UTS 프로토콜이 더 효율적임을 보인다. 이동 클라이언트의 접속 단절에 대해서는 무효화 브로드캐스트 윈도우를 크게 하여 접속 단절에 적절히 대처할 수 있다.Abstract In a mobile computing environment, caching of frequently accessed data has been shown to be a useful technique for reducing contention on the narrow bandwidth of the wireless channels. However, the traditional client/server strategies for supporting transactional cache consistency that require extensive communications between a client and a server are not appropriate in a mobile client/server computing environment. In this paper, we propose a new protocol, called OCC-UTS (Optimisitic Concurrency Control with Update TimeStamp), to support transactional cache consistency in a mobile client/server computing environment by utilizing the broadcast-based solutions for the problem of invalidating caches. The consistency check on accessed data and the commitment protocol are implemented in a truly distributed fashion as an integral part of cache invalidation process, with most burden of consistency check being downloaded to mobile clients. Also, our experiments based on an analytical model substantiate the basic idea and study the performance characteristics. Experimental results show that OCC-UTS protocol without local cache outperforms other competitor protocol, and the more frequent a mobile client accesses data items the more efficient OCC-UTS protocol with local cache is. With respect to disconnection, the tolerance to disconnection is improved if the invalidation broadcast window size is extended.

A Personal Digital Library on a Distributed Mobile Multiagents Platform (분산 모바일 멀티에이전트 플랫폼을 이용한 사용자 기반 디지털 라이브러리 구축)

  • When digital libraries are developed by the traditional client/sever system using a single agent on the distributed environment, several problems occur. First, as the search method is one dimensional, the search results have little relationship to each other. Second, the results do not reflect the user's preference. Third, whenever a client connects to the server, users have to receive the certification. Therefore, the retrieval of documents is less efficient causing dissatisfaction with the system. I propose a new platform of mobile multiagents for a personal digital library to overcome these problems. To develop this new platform I combine the existing DECAF multiagents platform with the Voyager mobile ORB and propose a new negotiation algorithm and scheduling algorithm. Although there has been some research for a personal digital library, I believe there have been few studies on their integration and systemization. For searches of related information, the proposed platform could increase the relationship of search results by subdividing the related documents, which are classified by a supervised neural network. For the user's preference, as some modular clients are applied to a neural network, the search results are optimized. By combining a mobile and multiagents platform a new mobile, multiagents platform is developed in order to decrease a network burden. Furthermore, a new negotiation algorithm and a scheduling algorithm are activated for the effectiveness of PDS. The results of the simulation demonstrate that as the number of servers and agents are increased, the search time for PDS decreases while the degree of the user's satisfaction is four times greater than with the C/S model.

  • IPTV current service change from a TV IPTV service providing digital broadcast, one- way VOD service, terrestrial broadcast to a web IPTV service,which is using wireless networks which is also used by interactive digital broadcasting However, IPTV, is being currently serviced, causes a lot of interaction with viewers because of inconvenience of using and has problems that users do not have enough content type to access. Additionally, there is also a problem that adding contents cover a large part of screen. To solve these problems, the thing that adding QR code to IPTV screen being recognized by Smartphone. In this way, we can provide the idea how to access to interaction information and also provide to clients an easy way creating and accessing to the contents by developing an editor that can insert QR code to video.

  • We propose a hybrid broadcast scheduling based on a combination of periodic and on-demand data scheduling methods for mobile data broadcasting in convergence networks from communication and broadcasting. We consider an environment in which the forward channel is for data broadcasting and the reverse channel is for sending data requests via cellular phones, WLAN, WiBro, etc. Collecting statistics of requests from clients, the server partitions the data items into hot-item and cold-item sets. Hot items are sent based on a push-based scheduling. An on-demand scheduling method is applied to cold items. Performance evaluation from simulations shows that our proposed scheduling algorithm yields small response time with high successful response ratio.

  • In order to connect web services, clients generally should use heavy frameworks such as .Net framework and Java run-time environment, which require high performance hardware resources like a personal computer. Therefore, it is impossible for sensor nodes to handle web services due to their limited resources. In this paper, a client agent framework is proposed for dynamically connecting web services in the client node with limited resources. A client agent, which is managed by the framework in other server, has full capability for connecting web services, while a real client has a simple connection module with the client agent. In this framework, a client agent is dynamically generated using the WSDL in the web service server. By using the framework, sensor nodes or mobile devices can enhance their functionalities and services by accessing web services with minimum resources.
