Research about Intelligent Snake Robot (지능형 뱀 로봇에 관한 연구)

  • There come various types of robot with researches for mobile robot. This paper introduces the multi-joint snake robot having 16 degree of freedom and composing of eight-axis. The biological snake robot uses the forward movement friction and the proposed artificial snake robot uses the un-powered wheel instead of the body of snake. To determine the enable joint angle of each joint, the controller inputs are considered such as color and distance using PC Camera and ultra-sonic sensor module, respectively. The movement method of snake robot is sequential moving from head to tail through body. The target for movement direction is decided by a certain article be displayed in the PC Camera. In moving toward that target, if there is any obstacle then the snake robot can avoid by itself. In this paper, we show the method of snake robot for tracing the target with experiment.

  • Visual inspection is regarded as one of the critical activities for quality control in a manufacturing company. it is thus important to improve the performance of detecting a defective part or product. There are three probable working modes for visual inspection: fully automatic (by automatic machines), fully manual (by human operators), and semi-automatic (by collaboration between human operators and automatic machines). Most of the current studies on visual inspection have been focused on the improvement of automatic detection performance by developing a better automatic machine using computer vision technologies. However, there are still a range of situations where human operators should conduct visual inspection with/without automatic machines. In this situation, human operators'performance of visual inspection is significant to the successful quality control. However, visual inspection of components assembled into a mobile camera module belongs to those situations. This study aims to investigate human performance issues in visual inspection of the components, paying more attention to human errors. For this, Abstraction Hierarchy-based work domain modeling method was applied to examine a range of direct or indirect factors related to human errors and their relationships in the visual inspection of the components. Although this study was conducted in the context of manufacturing mobile camera modules, the proposed method would be easily generalized into other industries.

  • In this paper, we analyze the degradation of receiving sensitivity due to the coupling between digital noise and mobile handset antenna using characteristic mode. First, we analyze the coupling mechanism between the antenna and digital noise, and analyze the role of the decoupling capacitor of the ground signal line, which is one of the ways to improve the antenna receiving sensitivity degradation due to camera noise. For the analysis, the digital signal line and the ground line of the FPCB of the camera module are modeled as a loop type feeder that excites the characteristic mode of the PCB ground, and improved model which has a ground line with a capacitor are analyzed.

  • Recently, the demands of digital camera and miniature camera module for mobile-phone is increased significantly. Lenses which is the core component of optical products are made by the injection molding(plastic lens) or GMP(glass lens). Plastic lens is not enough to improve the resolution and performance of optic parts. Therefore, the requirement of glass lens is increased because it is possible to ensure the high performance and resolution. In this paper, the thermal stress analysis of 3 cavity GMP mold for molding glass lens was performed for estimating the thermal stress and amount of deformation. Finally, the modification plan based on the analysis results was deducted.

  • Pine Wilt Disease (Bursaphelenchus Xylophilus) has been attacked since 1988, then it becomes very serious problem of the all over the country. Government has been invested a lot of money to prevent but it is hard to survey the damaged area and ineffectively control the process of prevention. Therefore, this study is focused on development of Pine Wilt Disease (Bursaphelenchus Xylophilus) Prevention System using GIS and GPS through constructiong database of digital map, satellite imagery and attribute data and development component for desktop PC, internet and mobile system to realtime data transmission between project manager and field worker. Especially, we developed the mobile system that can transmit field conditions in realtime using GPS, GIS and CCD camera, the telecommunication control server that transmit received field condition data to web connecting module and system manager, the web system for end user to notify prevention details, the control system lot manager to recognize filed conditions and to control field workers and the wireless telecommunication module to connect in realtime between field and control center.

  • In this paper, we proposed a software framework structure to apply ORB-SLAM, the most representative of SLAM algorithms, so that map creation and location estimation technology can be applied through tethered AR glasses. Since tethered AR glasses perform only the role of an input/output device, the processing of camera and sensor data and the generation of images to be displayed through the optical display module must be performed through the host. At this time, an Android-based mobile device is adopted as the host. Therefore, the major libraries required for the implementation of AR contents for AR glasses were hierarchically organized, and spatial recognition and location estimation functions using SLAM were verified.

  • In this paper, we propose a hardware resource sharable camera control processor (CCP) for low-cost and low-power camera cell phones. The main idea behind the proposed architecture is that adds direct access paths in the CCP to share its hardware resources so that the baseband processor expands its capabilities and boosts its performance by utilizing CCF's hardware resources. In addition, we applied a module grain dock-gating method to reduce power dissipation. Hence, the CCP can realize low-power and low-cost camera cell phones with greater hardware efficiency. This chip was fabricated in a 0.18um CMOS process with an active area of $3.8mm\;{\times}\;3.8mm$.

  • In this paper, we develop the multi sensor system, to get the sufficient information of mobile robot's environment. Mobile robot user interface, based on multi sensor system, can choice a suitable sensor by low-cost multi sensors and then acquisition information from remote robot's workspace using auto sequencing user display function. This research of multi sensor system is consists of ultrasonic sensor, position sensing detector, and low-cost CMOS camera module.

  • In recent years, a novel tiny piezoelectric linear motor converting a radial mode vibration to a longitudinal mode vibration driven by the impact force has been developed for a camera optical module. The tiny piezoelectric motor is consisted of a shaft, mobile element, and piezoelectric transducer. In this work, the frictional coefficient and static friction force of the interface between the shaft and the mobile element have been investigated according to their respective materials. It was found that two combinations, namely Pyrex glass or stainless steel for the shaft and stainless steel (SUS) for the mobile element, exhibited good dynamic behaviors in the tiny ultrasonic linear motor, which was newly developed based on operating concepts based on Newton's law.

  • It has been increasing that the use of Mobile Internet these days. And the demand of user is changing from the text based services to multimedia based data services like pictures, sounds and streaming videos in Mobile Internet. In this paper, It is proposed a remote monitoring system that .an transfer the video data through WAP(Wireless Application protocol) based Mobile Internet used generally in anywhere. And this system is a low-cost efficient system compared with a existing high-cost Internet Camera system, using video module connected to Internet directly and PC-based server. In this paper, It is explained a design and implementation of such WAP-based remote monitoring system.
