연속회분식반응조 공정에서 교반/폭기비와 SRT가 영양염류제거에 미치는 영향 (Effects of mixing/aeration ratio and SRT on nutrient removal in SBR process)

  • In this study, nutrients treatment by sequencing batch reactors(SBR) was performed. Nitrogen and phosphorus removal efficiencies were evaluated by changing SRT and mixing/aeration ratio. Not only nitrogen but also phosphorus removal patterns were investigated through track studies on 1 cycle. As SRT was fixed and mixing/aeration ratio was changed, maximum nitrogen removal efficiency was 87.6% at mixing/aeration ratio 0.67. Phosphorus removal efficiencies were more than 85.5% except no mixing condition. As mixing/aeration ratio was fixed and SRT was changed, nitrogen removal efficiencies were 70.5~79.8%, which represented slight changes, while phosphorus removal efficiencies were 49.0~97.3%, which represented sharply decreasing tendency at less than 20 day. Both phosphorus release rate k and maximum phosphorus release rate $P_{max}/M$ were are decreased as SRT was decreased, but they were not affected by mixing/aeration ratio. It was found that there is a linear relationship between ortho-phosphate uptake and maximum ortho-phosphate release.

SBR에서 아세트산을 이용한 양돈폐수의 질소·인 제거 특성 (Removal Characteristics of Nitrogen and Phosphorus in swine wastewater by Using Acetic acid on the SBR Process)

  • 본 연구는 생물학적 처리공정의 하나인 SBR을 이용하여, 양돈폐수중의 유기물과 질소, 인의 동시 제거를 목적으로 적정의 수리학적 체류시간(HRT)과 반응기간 중 교반/폭기 시간비(M/A) 및 적정의 교반/폭기 시간비에서의 외부탄소원의 주입기간(Injection Time)에 따른 변화에 따른 실험 결과로부터 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. (1) $NH_4{^+}-N$의 제거효율은 M/A가 0.0/22.0일 때(Run 1) 가장 효율이 좋았으며, 외부탄 소원을 주입했을 경우 탈질균의 증식으로 인해서 질산화가 잘 이루어지지 않기 때문에 주입시간이 길어질수록 증가하였다. T-N의 제거효율은 M/A가 증가할수록, 외부탄소원 주입시간이 길어질수록 증가하였다. (2) T-P의 제거효율은 운전조건에 따라 큰 차이를 보이고 있으며, M/A가 증가할수록 제거효율은 증가하였으며, 외부탄소원의 주입기간을 두고 보았을때, 주입기간을 짧게 할 경우 탈질균의 증식으로 인해서 탈질이 더 효율적으로 이루어지기 때문에 그 제거효율은 증가하였다. (3) 총 반응시간 22시간 중 M/A 16.5/5.5, 무산소 기간의 16.5시간 중 15시간동안 외부탄소원을 주입했을 경우(Run 4-1)의 운전조건에서 유기물 및 질소 제거에 가장 효율적이었다. 각각의 효율을 살펴보면, $COD_{Cr}$, $COD_{Mn}$ 그리고 $BOD_5$인 경우, 각각 90.6%, 87.7% 그리고 96.1%이고, T-N의 경우 86.6%, T-P인 경우는 84.5%로 나타났다.

  • 화장품 폐수에 일정 농도의 오수를 혼합하여 활성 슬러지법에 의해 처리할 경우, 오수 중의 각종 영양원과 분변성 세균 등에 의해 폐수 중 유기물이 감소되는지의 여부를 COD를 측정하여 고찰해 보고 폐수와 오수의 혼합 시 안정적으로 처리될 수 있는 최적 혼합비와 최적 폭기 시간을 구한 결과, 적당량의 오수를 투입함으로써 폐수 처리에 필요한 폭기 시간을 4-8시간으로 단축시킬 수 있었다. 오수의 투입량이 증가될수록 COD 저감율이 커짐을 알 수 있었으며 본 실험 범위 안에서 폐수와 오수의 혼합 처리 시 오수의 함량이 80% 정도일 때 가장 효과적이었다.

고리형 에테르의 생물학적 처리 특성 (Removal Characteristics of Cyclic Ethers in Biological Wastewater Treatment System)

  • The fate of two cyclic ethers, THF(Tetrahydrofuran) and 1,4-Dioxane, in conventional biological wastewater treatment plants was investigated using sequential activated sludge process. Removal efficiency of THF were about 86% in average, which was greater than that of 1,4-Dioxane, 30%. However, it was not clear whether the removal of cyclic ethers in biological system was caused by microbial activity or not. Thus treatability tests were conducted by batch experiments. The effects of mixing, aeration and the addition of activated sludge on the removal of cyclic ethers were investigated in batch experiments. THF was totally removed by mixing and aeration in 24 hours while removal ratio of 1,4-Dioxane was at most 30% for the same period. This results could be ascribed to the differences in Henry's law constants between the two chemicals. In addition, biological degradation including biosorption was not obviously observed in these batch tests.

  • Tower fermentor를 이용한 연속 알콜발효에서 cell re-cycle과 aeration에 대한 영향을 검토하였다. 균주는 floc-culationg 효모인 Saccharomyces cerecisiae TS4를 를 사용하였다. 15% glucose를 사용한 cell recycle system의 연속 알콜발효에서 cell 농도는 50%/1였고, ethanol productiv는 26.4g EtOH/l-hr로서 cell농도가 가장 높은 값을 나타내었으며, aeration rate는 3.8$\times$ $10^-^3$ VVM이상부터는 ethanol pro-ductivity가 감소하였다.

The Effect of Aerated Oil Considering Live Oil Surface Tension on High-Speed Journal Bearing

  • The influence of aerated oil on high-speed journal bearing is examined by classical thermohydrodynamic lubrication theory coupled with analytical models for viscosity and density of air-oil mixture in fluid-film bearing. Convection to the walls and mixing with supply oil and re-circulating oil are considered. The live oil surface tension is considered as functions of temperature, API gravity and air volume ratio. With changing eccentricity ratio, it is investigated the effects of air bubbles on the performance of a high-speed plain journal bearing. Just at the moderate eccentricity ratios, even if the involved aeration levels are not so severe and the entrained air bubble sizes are not so small, it is found that the bearing load and friction farce may be changed so visibly for the high speed bearing operation.

하수처리를 위한 간헐 방류식 장기폭기 공정에서 아질산염의 축적에 영향을 미치는 인자 (Factors affecting nitrite build-up in an intermittently decanted extended aeration process for wastewater treatment)

  • An intermittently-aerated, intermittently-decanted single-reactor process (KIDEA process : KIST intermittently decanted extended aeration process) was applied for nitrogen removal from wastewater. Synthetic wastewater with chemical oxygen demand (COD): nitrogen (N) ratio of approximately 5.25: 1 was used. The average COD removal efficiency reached above 95%, and under optimal conditions nitrogen removal efficiency also reached above 90%. This process consisted of 72 minute aeration, 48 minute settling and 24 minute effluent decanting with continuous feeding of influent wastewater from the bottom of the reactor, and did not require a separate anoxic mixing-phase. In this process, nitritation ($1^{st}$ step of nitrification) was induced but nitratation($2^{nd}$ step of nitrification) was suppressed. Main factors responsible for the accumulation of nitrite ion in the experimental condition were free ammonium and dissolved oxygen. This condition of nitrite build-up accelerated by continuous feed flow in the bottom of the KIDEA reactor because of high concentration of ammonia nitrogen in the influent. This research provides one of answers to control nitrate build-up.

Bench-scale 선박용 고도수처리장치에서의 T-N 제거효율 연구 (A Study on Removal Efficiency of T-N in Bench-scale for Shipboard Sewage Treatment Plant)

  • In this study, the International Maritime Organization (IMO)'s guideline MEPC. 277 (64) was developed and evaluated for the removal efficiency of T-N in a SBR and MBR combined process. This combined process of resized equipment based on large capacity water treatment device for a protection of marine aquatic life. In this experiment, T-N concentration of influent and effluent was measured through with the artificial wastewater. The SBR reactor operation time was varied according to the C : N : P ratios so that different conditions for mixing and aeration period in mins (90 : 60, 80 : 40, 70 : 50) and two C: N: P ratios (10 : 5 : 3, 10 : 3 : 1) were used. During experiment in the reactor's aeration and anoxic tank DO concentrations were 3 mg/L and 0.2 mg/L respectively. Furthermore, in the reactor MLSS concentration was 2000 mg/L and flowrate was 2 L/hr. Experiment results showed that C : N : P, 10 : 3 : 1 ratio with 90 mins mixing and 60 mins aeration maximized removal efficiency at 97.3% T-N as compared to other conditions. The application of the SBR and MBR combined process showed efficient results.

돈분의 퇴비화에 있어서 종이류 폐기물의 적정 배합량에 관한 연구 (A Study on Optimum Mixing Ratio of Paper Wastes as Bulking Agent in Cornposting of Swine Feces)

  • This study was performed to find the optimum mixing ratio of paper waste in composting of mixture of swine feces and newspaper. Using the experimental setting of aeration rate which was found in the experiment carried out priorly, and moisture contents reported in other literature, just the initial C:N ratios were differentiated by mixing different amount of newspaper with the same amount of swine feces. This study was carried out by operating 4 experimental cornposting reactors of bench scale for 3 weeks. The followings are the conclusions that were derived from this study. 1. During composting reaction, the C:N ratio of each cornposter was decreased. Degree of decrease was in order of run 3, run 2, run 4, and run 1 of which initial C:N ratio was 30, 25, 35, and 20 respectively. All of the final composts were found to be completed composting reaction. 2. Ash contents of each reactor increased rapidly in order of run 3, run 2, run 4, and run 1. The absolute values of quadratic effect coefficients of each second order regression function was 0.059, 0.038, 0.032, and 0.030 respectively. Ash contents evolution trend had a linear correlation with the C:N ratio trend. (r=-0.96932, p<0.05) 3. The range of highest temperatures reached during composting was 47.2-53.5$\circ$C. Those were not significantly different from one another. Thermophilic temperatures were maintained in the range of 48-108 hours. 4. Contents of heavy metal detected in the final compost were lower than those of Korean and European standards. 5. Concentration range of Nitrogen in the final compost was 1.11-2.27%, and that of phosphorus was 8.40-10.70 mg/kg. 6. The optimum C:N ratio which has been proposed without the consideration of types of bulking agents should be re-examined. Biodegradabilities of each bulking agents was thought to be important factor when determining the optimum initial C:N ratio for cornposting.
