Bose and Mitra obtained certain interesting tansformations of the generalized hypergeometric series by using some known summation formulas and employing suitable contour integrations in complex function theory. The authors aim at providing another transformation of the generalized hypergeometric series by making use of the technique as those of Bose and Mitra and a known summation formula, which Bose and Mitra did not use, for the Gaussian hypergeometric series.

The purposes of this study on various headgear at the age of the Persian Achaemenes are to analyze one cultural aspect of the Achaemenes Kingdom that made a great empire about 5th century B.C. and to understand the ancient Persian culture. It is widely recognized that the Persian region was an important place for cultural exchange between the East and the West through the Silk Road and its culture affected China and Korea. Therefore, it is necessary to study ancient culture in this region for further understanding of the Korean culture. However, research activities have not been satisfactorily conducted. This study is an attempt to elevate the interest in this subject. In this study, European archeological materials covering Naqsh-e-Rostam (a tomb of Darius), Apadana stairs, Darius palace in Persepolis, and Bistun(Behistun), the relief at the age of the Achaemenes Kingdom, were collected and analyzed. From this study, the following results were obtained. For crowns at the age of the Achaemenes Kingdom, two kinds of shapes are observed; Mitra, a kind of headband, in the early period and a cylindrical one in the later period. Mitra was also worn by chiefs trusted by the king. Further, slightly different styles of cylindrical crowns were observed, which is considered that kings might wear unique crowns to symbolize new period of their reign. In addition to crowns, various styles of headgear for subjects are observed, meaning that tribes conquered by the Persian empire used their unique headgear. Further, such different styles of headgear might be a tool for social classification. Representative styles of headgear include the semicircular one worn by the Median nobles, Strophion originated from the Elam's headband, and nomadic tribes' Baschlik observed in the Median relics.

In this study, discrimination of salted cuttle fish and salted mitra squid was carried out using electronic nose based on mass spectrometer. Intensities of each fragment from salted cuttlefish by electronic nose were completely different from those of salted mitra squid. Each sample was analyzed, and discriminant function analysis (DFA) was used for the discrimination of similar products. DFA plot indicated a significant separation of each salted cuttlefish and mitra squid ($r^2$= 0.8789, F= 162.13). Electronic nose based on mass spectrometer could be used as an efficient method for discrimination of Economically Motivated Authentication (EMA) foods.

From the chloroform extract of the defatted seeds of jute a new coumarin $C_9H_6O_4$, $m.p.\;178-179^{\circ}C$, was isolated. The structure of the compound was established as 4,7-dihydroxy coumarin on the basis of physical methods viz. $^1H\;NMR,\;^{13}C\;NMR$ and Ms.

In this paper a statcom is developed to improve the power quality in a dc traction system. The proposed statcom can be used as both inverter and active filter. As an active filter, it can compensate harmonic distortion and reactive power and as an inverter, it can recycle regenerative energy caused by decelerating trains. The simulation results are carried out by using PSCAD/EMTDC software.

In this paper, we introduce U-statistics approach to generalized Hollander-Proschan test for new better than used (NBUE) alternative. We prove, the proposed test is equivalent to test was introduced by Anis and Mitra (2011) and includes test was introduced by Hollander Proschan (1975). Also, the asymptotic properties are studied. The powers of our test are estimated. The Pitman asymptotic efficiencies of proposed test are also calculated. Finally, the test is applied to some real data.

A mixture of several bacterial metabolites $(Sterodin{\circledR})$ was used to study its effect on major immunocytes, in vivo and in vitro. This mixture of bacterial metabolites increased number of macrophages and neutrophils and their phagocytic activity in experimental animals for a transient period. BSA induced antibody production was found to be higher in the drug treated group. These results indicated that the bacterial metabolites probably acted through non-specific defence mechanism against invading organisms and the chance of reinfection was reduced.

The existence, uniqueness and iterative approximation of solutions for a few classes of functional equations arising in dynamic programming of multistage decision processes are discussed. The results presented in this paper extend, improve and unify the results due to Bellman [2, 3], Bhakta-Choudhury [6], Bhakta-Mitra [7], and Liu [12].
