  • AutoCor is a method for the automatic acquisition and classification of corpora of documents in closely-related languages. It is an extension and enhancement of CorpusBuilder, a system that automatically builds specific minority language corpora from a closed corpus, since some Tagalog documents retrieved by CorpusBuilder are actually documents in other closely-related Philippine languages. AutoCor used the query generation method odds ratio, and introduced the concept of common word pruning to differentiate between documents of closely-related Philippine languages and Tagalog. The performance of the system using with and without pruning are compared, and common word pruning was found to improve the precision of the system.

  • Emthusiasm about the introduction of computers into mathematics education is widespred. But, the perspectives about the relationship between mathematics education and computer are diverse. The purpose of this study is to examine theoretical background for using computers in mathematics education. In spite of the pedagogical possibilities of computers. only a small minority of mathematics teachers are using computers in mathematics classroom. It is natural to seek this obstacles within theoretical background of the teachers who manage computers, In this study, We discuss the problems in the two sides. First, due to increased computer activity, relationship of mathematics in school with mathematics in society is changing. It is tension between academic mathematics and practical mathematics. School mathematics have to be changed toward stressing practical mathematics. Second problem is the dialectical relationship between the individual and the collective. While maintaining a respect for the individuality of student contributions. We take into account the social dimension of mathematical meaning-making. We discussed theoretical clarification of work collaborative learning. We propose the case study for the roles of computer in collaborative mathematics learning.

  • Asian Americans is a minority population contributing approximately 4% to the total population of the United States, however it is one of the fastest growing populations. Although Asian Americans as a group have socioeconomic profiles that are similar to white Americans, significant variations exists within and across Asian ethnic groups. The top ten leading causes of death for Asian Americans includes cancer, heart diseases, stroke, unintentional injuries, diabetes, influenza and pneumonia, chronic lower respiratory disease, suicide, nephritis, and septicemia. The prevalence of obesity is lower among Asian Americans, however this should be taken with considerations specific to Asians. High salt and low calcium consumption seem to be dietary risk factors for Asian Americans, although dietary patterns are changing with acculturation. Factors affecting dietary patterns are discussed in this paper. A proactive nutrition education approach for Asian Americans should be promoting maintaining 'healthy' aspects of ethnic diets and adopting 'healthy' American diets. Collaboration with nutrition educators in Asian countries would be helpful to overcome limited resources available for researching and developing nutrition education messages and materials for Asian Americans. • Near-field photocurrent experiments were performed for GaAs/AIGaAs MQWs at room temperature. Heavy hole and light hole related peaks are clearly resolved even under extremely low power of near-field excitation. By scanning laterally 2 $\mu\textrm{m}$${\times}$2 $\mu\textrm{m}$ area on the surface, minority carrier diffusion process in the well region was qualitatively studied.

  • Since 2000s in Korea, apartment building tended to become goods or assets rather than houses. Therefore, conflicts between supplier and consumer were aggravated, and the defect dispute has been increased rapidly. This dispute enlarges to defect lawsuit and it is social and economical matter. The landscape work in apartment building is main work for a resident that appearance and convenient facility which lawn, tree, fountain, chair, playground, and etc. A number of defects surround landscape work are important issue in defect lawsuit, but, a related research is a minority, and a regulation is incomplete. Therefore, this study is basic study for standard of landscape defect type. As case study on defect lawsuit, draw a landscape defect type in apartment building.

  • The C-T characteristics of nitridized MOS capacitor have been studied. The generation lifetimes were calculated using C-T transient response ans found to vary as sample condition. This is due to the non-uniformity of fast surface state. Also, This experimental curves were different from theoretical curves. The result suggests that the change in material structure (from SiO2 to Si-N-O) is important in improving minority carrier lifetime.

  • In this paper, present status of super high-efficiency tandem solar cells has been reviewed and key issues for realizing super high-efficiency have also been discussed. In addition, the terretrial R&D activities of tandem cells, in the New Sunshine Program of MITI(Ministry of International Trade and Industry) and NEDO(New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) in Japan are reviewed briefly. The mechanical stacked 3-junction cells of monolithically grown InGaP/GaAs 2-junction cells and InGaAs cells have reached the highest efficiency achieved in Japan of 33.3% at 1-sun AM1.5. This paper also reports high-efficiency InGaP/GaAs 2-junction solar cells with a world-record efficiency of 26.9% at AM0, 28$^{\circ}C$ and radiation damage recovery phenomena of the tandem cell performance due to minority-carrier injection under light illumination or forward bias, which causes defect annealing in InGaP top cells. Future prospects for realizing super-high efficiency and low-cost tandem solar cells are also described.

  • Security of radioactive sources has been an issue since the earliest days of safety regulation of such materials. Since the events of September 11 2001, some governments and regulatory bodies have been much more focussed on these issues and have introduced extensive and enhanced security arrangements. International organisations like the IAEA and WINS have worked hard to help States in this regard. However, only a minority of States have implemented statutory security systems for radioactive source security. Why have so many States still to take action? What can be done to encourage and support these changes? This paper will offer some possible explanations for the lack of action in so many States and some potential answers to these questions.
