내부 강관 두께에 따른 내부 구속 중공 RC 교각의 거동 (Behaviors of Internally Confined Hollow Reinforced Concrete Piers by Thickness of Internal Steel Tube)

  • 내부 구속 중공 RC 교각은 교각의 강성 및 연성의 증가를 목적으로, 중공 RC 교각의 중공 면에 내부 구속력을 제공하는 강관을 삽입한 교각이다. 본 연구에서는 내부 강관의 두께를 변화시켜 내부 구속 중공 RC 교각의 거동 특성을 파악하였으며, 거동 특성을 파악하기 위한 평가 방법으로는 안전율, 연성능력, 재료비, 교각의 총중량 등으로 평가하였다. 해석적 연구 결과, 내부 구속 중공 RC 교각의 내부 강관 두께는 최소 필요 두에를 적용하는 것이 가장 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 중공 단면에 대한 교각의 자중감소 효과를 확인할 수 있었다.

MQL장치를 이용한 보링 가공시 최적절삭조건에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Cutting Condition in Boring using MQL System)

  • Lubrication has an important role to reduce frictional forces and temperature between cutting chips and the face of a tool. However, it has harmful effects to workers' health and working environment. The purpose of this thesis is to find cutting conditions through the quality analysis in boring for SM45C steel using MQL(Minimum Quantity Lubrication). Machining process is super drill, tip drill, end mill and boring in order. Experimental factors of boring and the quantity of mist air are properly selected. With the analysis of experimental data, this thesis shows that boring with MQL improves the surface roughness when spindle speed is 934rpm or feeding speed is 74mm/min.

  • This is an experimental investigation the shear behavior of reinforced concrete with stirrup of which stress ranges 0.0㎏/㎠ to 7.0㎏/㎠. Five rectangular beams which concrete strengths are 287㎏/㎠ and 380㎏/㎠, a/d=3, and main steel ratio equal to 1.96% was tested. Those were designed to fail in shear. The shear cracking load and failure load were measured and compared with ACI's equation and Zutty's proposed equation. The results are following : ACI equation and Zutty's equation are consertive. As the concrete compressive strength increased, reserved shear strength of beams with minimum web reinforcement decreases. According to increase of web reinforcement , the rate of increases of shear strength is decreased. The failure modes of specimen with minimum web reinforcement are shear compression failure which is reached after diagonal shear cracking.

Seismic analysis of RC tubular columns in air-cooled supporting structure of TPP

  • This paper aims to investigate the seismic behavior and influence parameters of the large-scaled thin-walled reinforced concrete (RC) tubular columns in air-cooled supporting structures of thermal power plants (TPPs). Cyclic loading tests and finite element analysis were performed on 1/8-scaled specimens considering the influence of wall diameter ratio, axial compression ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio, stirrup reinforcement ratio and adding steel diagonal braces (SDBs). The research results showed that the cracks mainly occurred on the lower half part of RC tubular columns during the cyclic loading test; the specimen with the minimum wall diameter ratio presented the earlier cracking and had the most cracks; the failure mode of RC tubular columns was large bias compression failure; increasing the axial compression ratio could increase the lateral bearing capacity and energy dissipation capacity, but also weaken the ductility and aggravate the lateral stiffness deterioration; increasing the longitudinal reinforcement ratio could efficiently enhance the seismic behavior; increasing the stirrup reinforcement ratio was favorable to the ductility; RC tubular columns with SDBs had a much higher bearing capacity and lateral stiffness than those without SDBs, and with the decrease of the angle between columns and SDBs, both bearing capacity and lateral stiffness increased significantly.

Application of DCOC for Minimum Cost Design of Reinforced Concrete T-Beams

  • This paper describes the application of discretized continuum-type optimality criteria (DCOC) for design of the reinforced concrete T-beams. The cost of construction as objective function which includes the costs of concrete, reinforced steel and formwork is minimized. The design constraints include limits on the maximum deflection in a given span on bending and shear strengths and optimality criteria is given based on the well blown Kuhn-Tucker necessary conditions, followed by an iterative procedure for designs when the design variables are the depth and the steel ratio. The versatility of the DCOC technique has been demonstrated by considering numerical examples which have one and five span RC T-beams.

Characteristics of Dynamic Strain Aging(DSA) in SA106Gr.C Piping Steel

  • Tensile and J-R tests were carried out to estimate the effects of dynamic strain aging(DSA) on SA106Gr.C piping steel. Tensile tests were performed under temperature range RT to $400^{\circ}C$ md strain rates from $1.39{\times}10^{-4}\;to\;6.95{\times}10^{-2}/s$. Fracture toughness was tested in the temperature range RT to $350^{\circ}C$ and load-line displacement rates 0.4 and 4mm/min. The effects of DSA on the tensile properties were clearly observed for phenomena such serrated flow, variation of ultimate and yield stress, and negative stram rate sensitivity. However, the magnitude of serration and strength increase by DSA was relatively small. this may be due to high ratio of Mn to C. In addition, crack initiation resistance, Ji and crack growth resistance, dJ/da were reduced in the range of $200-300^{\circ}C$, where DSA appeared as serrated flow and UTS hardening. The temperature corresponding to minimum fracture resistance was shifted to higher temperature with increasing loading rate.

A new formulation for strength characteristics of steel slag aggregate concrete using an artificial intelligence-based approach

  • Steel slag, an industrial reject from the steel rolling process, has been identified as one of the suitable, environmentally friendly materials for concrete production. Given that the coarse aggregate portion represents about 70% of concrete constituents, other economic approaches have been found in the use of alternative materials such as steel slag in concrete. Unfortunately, a standard framework for its application is still lacking. Therefore, this study proposed functional model equations for the determination of strength properties (compression and splitting tensile) of steel slag aggregate concrete (SSAC), using gene expression programming (GEP). The study, in the experimental phase, utilized steel slag as a partial replacement of crushed rock, in steps 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%, respectively. The predictor variables included in the analysis were cement, sand, granite, steel slag, water/cement ratio, and curing regime (age). For the model development, 60-75% of the dataset was used as the training set, while the remaining data was used for testing the model. Empirical results illustrate that steel aggregate could be used up to 100% replacement of conventional aggregate, while also yielding comparable results as the latter. The GEP-based functional relations were tested statistically. The minimum absolute percentage error (MAPE), and root mean square error (RMSE) for compressive strength are 6.9 and 1.4, and 12.52 and 0.91 for the train and test datasets, respectively. With the consistency of both the training and testing datasets, the model has shown a strong capacity to predict the strength properties of SSAC. The results showed that the proposed model equations are reliably suitable for estimating SSAC strength properties. The GEP-based formula is relatively simple and useful for pre-design applications.

구조화 용접철강을 사용한 일방향 슬래브의 휨 거동에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Flexural Behavior of One-Way Concrete Slabs Using Structural Welded Wire-Fabric)

  • 주택건설은 극심한 건축자재 부족과 인력수급등의 많은 어려움을 격고 있는데, 이에 대한 문제의 해결방은 중 하나로 철근콘크리트 공사에서 철근의 가공조립공정을 보다 간소화하면서 그 기능의 효율성을 높이는 방법으로 구조용 용접철망과 루프형 용접철망을 이용한 공법이 제기되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 일방향 슬래브에 콘크리트 예상 압축강도가 $210kg/cm^2$일 때, 최대균열폭과 소성변형 능력에 영향을 미치는 요인인 사용철근의 종류, 최소철근비를 기준으로 한 인장철근비(${\rho}t$), 주변지지조건, 겹이음길이의 4가지 주요변수로 하여 슬래브의 구조적 특성 및 휨거동을 파악하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 연구결과, 소성변형능력은 이형철근을 사용한 슬래브가 용접철망을 사용한 슬래브보다 월등히 큰 것으로 나타났고, 겹이음된 슬래브에서는 겹이음길이 30D가 적절한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 최대균열폭은 용접철망과 루프형 용접철망을 사용한 슬래브가 이형철근을 사용한 슬래브 보다 균열폭을 억제하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 중공 RC 교각은 중실 RC 교각에 비해 자중의 감소 및 재료 절감에 대한 장점을 가진다. 그러나 중공 RC 교각은 안쪽면의 취성파괴로 인하여 낮은 연성 거동을 할 가능성이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 중공 부재 내의 콘크리트 3축 구속 상태로 존재하게 하는 내부 구속 중공 RC 교각이 개발되었다. 본 연구에서는 내부 구속 중공 RC 교각의 매개변수(중공비, 내부강관두께, 횡방향 철근 간격, 종방향 철근 개수, 콘크리트 강도)변화에 따른 안전율, 연성도, 재료비 및 교각 총 중량에 대한 거동 특성을 파악하였다. 매개변수 변화에 따른 내부 구속 RC 교각의 거동 특성 결과 내부 강관 두께는 최소한의 내부강관 두께를 적용하는 것이 효과 적인 것으로 파악되었다.
