A Study on Determination of the Minimum Vertical Spring Stiffness of Track Pads in Korea High Speed Railway. (고속철도 궤도패드의 최소 수직 스프링계수 결정에 관한 연구)

  • Railway noise and vibration has been recognized as major problems with the speed-up of rolling stock. As a kind of solution to these problems, the decrease of stiffness of track pad have been tried. However, in this case, overturning of rail due to lateral force should be considered because it can have effect on the safety of running train. Therefore, above two things - decrease of stiffness of track pad and overturning of rail due to lateral force - should be considered simultaneously for the appropriate determination of spring coefficient of track pad. With this viewpoint, minimum spring coefficient of track pad is estimated through the comparison between the theoretical relationship about the overturning of rail and 3-dimensional FE analysis result. Two kinds of Lateral force and wheel load are used as input loads. Extracted values from the conventional estimation formula and the Shinkansen design loads are used. It is found that the overturning of rail changes corresponding to the change of the stiffness of track pad and the ratio of lateral force to wheel load. Moreover, it is found that the analysis model can have influence on the results. Through these procedure, minimum spring coefficient of track pad is estimated.

Dynamic Analysis on the Closing Resistors of Gas Insulated Switchgear

  • GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) is used in electric power system to insure non conductivity, breaking capacity and operating reliability. In the present study, dynamic analysis on the closing resistors of the GIS has bees carried out by the commercial dynamic analysis code COSMOS MOTION and 3-D modeling program SOLID WORKS. In order to find the minimum value of chatter vibration of closing resistors, the motion of moving and fixed resistor parts of closing resistors were simulated by varying the spring constant, the damping coefficient and the mass of moving and fixed resistor parts. The simulated results were compared with experimental results. The application of the results could reduce chatter vibration of closing resistors of the GIS. These data are also useful on the development of future model GIS with minimum chatter vibration for the determinations of the spring constant, the damping coefficient and mass of a moving part.

Determination on the Optimal Sample Size in the Aquatic Insect Community Analysis - Pangtae Creek Model (수서곤충 군집분석에 있어서 최적표본크기의 결정 - 방태천 모형)

  • A molel study was conducted to determine the optimal sample size for the analysis of the aquatic insect community in a stream reach of the Pangtae Creek, Kangwon-do in October 1995 and may 1996. The results showed that the required minimum sample size varied and depended on the purposes of the community analysis. Acoording to the Species: Area Curve method, at least 16 Surber samplings ($30{\times}30cm$) were required in a stream reach in each spring and fall survey. The species diversity index did not vary significantly as the sample size increased. Based on the coefficient of variation analysis, the minimum sample sizes of 10 were required in order to compare seasonal differences of the community in the study area. Considering the static community structure of aquatic insects, including both species numbers and individual numbers of aquatic insects, 11 and 7 samplings were optimal sizes for the fall and spring survey, respectively. We concluded that 12 Surber samplings from 3 riffle-pool sequences (4 samplings at each riffle-pool sequence) would be required in a stream reach (length 1 km) to obtain reliable as well as cost efficient data. Our model showed that the optimal sample size should be determined by interactions between minimum sample size, the degree of data reliability, and cost efficiency.

Studies on the Appropriate Processing Season of Ark Shell (Scapharca subcrenata) (새고막(Scapharca subcrenata)의 가공적기에 관한 연구)

  • In order to investigate the appropriate processing season of ark shell(Scapharca subcrenata) cultured at the south coast of Korea, the edible portions were determined for coefficient of fatness and yield of edible portion using specimens collected bimonthly from December 1994 to December 1995. The relationship between shell length(X) and total weight(Y) of S. subcrenata is shown as follows; Y=0.001608X2.5199. The relationship between total weight(X) and meat weight(Y) of S. subcrenata is shown as follows; Y= 0.3594X 0.5566(r=0.99). The relationship between total weight(X) and meat weight(Y) of S. subcrenata is shown as follows; Y=67.1647X+20.6370(r=0.99). The coefficient of fatness and yield of edible portion showed a marked bimonthly variation with a maximum in December and a minimum in August. The appropriate processing season of S. subcrenata would be in winter and spring, and not in summer and autumn season, the spawning season of the S. subcrenata.

  • Cai-go management facility of harbor are required an expansion due to increase of cargo quantity. Design technology of Yard AGV call be possible to deal many cargo rapidly and accurately. So it is produced a profit about cal-go management. This study is presented optimum of suspension parameter for design technology Yard AGV. Model I, II are modeled about Initial of container weight, height. When the maximum stroke of suspension is 0.26m, optimum is achieved to reduce the reaction force at the minimum. Also, the reaction force is study to become stability in I second. A change of spring constant and coefficient of damper make change the reaction force and minimum reaction force appear in optimum value. Analysis of long-term water level change of Dongrae hot spring using time series methods (시계열 방법을 이용한 동래온천 수위의 장기적인 변화 분석)

  • Dongrae hot spring belongs to the residual magma type and has a long history of bathing since the Silla dynasty in Korea. Due to long development of hot spring water, it is expected that the amount of hot spring water in Dongrae hot spring has been changed. In this study, long-trem water level data of Dongrae hot spring were examined for recognizing the change of the hot spring. By the fluctuation analysis of the hot spring water level from January 1992 to July 2018, the maximum and minimum annual drawdowns of no. 27 well were 137.70 and 71.60 meters, respectively, with an average drawdown of 103.39 m. On the other hand, the maximum and minimum annual drawdowns of no. 29 well were 137.80 and 71.70 meters, with an average drawdown of 103.49 m. Besides, drawdown rate became bigger in recent years. As a result of analyzing autocorrelation of the two wells, the correlation coefficient ranged from 0.919 to 0.991, showing seasonal groundwater level fluctuation. The cross correlation analysis between water level and precipitation as well as water level and hot spring discharge resulted in the correlation coefficients of -0.280 ~ 0.256 and 0.428 ~ 0.553, respectively. Therefore, using Dongnae hot-spring water level data from 1992 to 2018, the Mann-Kendall test and Sen's test showed that the continuous decline of water level was mainly caused by the pumping of the hot spring water among various reasons.

  • Reproductive cycle of Haliotis discus hannai Ino was studied based on the samples which were collected in Yeosu area from January, 1973 to December, 1974. Particular emphasis was paid on the seasonal variation of gonad maturity factor, coefficieot of gonad maturity, fatnesss, and relationship of gonad weight to growth of the abalone. seasonal fluctuation of water temperature and induction of artificial spawnings were also checked. The abalone of this area spawns twice a year: spring spawning(early May-late July) and Autumn spawning(early September-late November). peak spawning occurs from late May to middle of June for spring spawning: it occurs from late September to early November for Autumn spawning. Gonad maturity factor was closely related to the spawning seasons. For the spring spawning Gonad maturity factor reached to its maximum value as 18.84 in April; for the Autumn spawning it reached to its maximum value as 22.65 in September. Annual minimum value was 12.65 in January. Annual maximum values of coefficient of gonad maturity were 44.10 in May and 49.05 in September and the annual minimum was 10.09 in January. Fatnesswas highest in July as 0.221 and it was lowest in October as 0.1058.   • On this study, to develop the impact absorbing system for spreader, we operated the dynamic response for models of three types consisting of spring and oil damper by the finite element analysis. Also, in the three types of impact absorbing system, we set the restricted stroke of piston to the static variables and the optimum design was operated to have the minimum value of the reaction force for the impact. As the result, the direct model of two degree of freedom system has lowest value, the model of one degree of freedom system has higher value than that and the parallel model of two degree of freedom system has the highest value. And we studied the effect that the change of spring constant and damping coefficient affect to the reaction force and as the result of the optimum design, we found that reaction force has the lowest value in the each of models.

Characteristics on the Variations of the Total Ozone over Pohang (1994-2004) using the Brewer Spectrophotometer and TOMS

  • The characteristics of the total ozone variations measured by the ground-based Brewer Ozone Spectrophotometer and the Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS) over Pohang are statistically examined from January 1994 to December 2004. First of all, in the correlation analysis of the total ozone measured from the Brewer Ozone Spectrophotometer and the TOMS, the correlation coefficient was 0.88 and the used data were 2190. The annual mean value of the total ozone is 311 DU with the standard deviation of 13 DU. The maximum and the minimum value were found in March (343 DU) and in September (282 DU), respectively. It was also revealed that the longest seasonal variation is in Spring (341 DU) and the smallest is in Autumn (283 DU). The time series data of the total ozone indicates that the annual variation is significant and the variations for three months and six months are relatively weak. Finally, the annual mean total ozones in Pohang (Brewer), Seoul (Brewer) and Busan (TOMS) are 312 DU, 324 DU and 304 DU, respectively.
