In a hardened concrete, diffusion of oxygen, carbon dioxide, aggressive ions, and moisture from the environment to the concrete takes place through the pore network. It is well known that making dense cement matrix enhances the durability of concrete as well as all the characteristics including strength of concrete. In this paper,9 mix concretes with water to cementitious material ratio (40,45, and $50\%$) and replacement ratio of GGBFS (40 and $60\%$ of cement by weight) were studied on the micro-pore structure by mercury intrusion porosimetry and the accelerated chloride diffusion test by potential difference. From the results the average pore diameter and accelerated chloride diffusivity of concrete were ordered NPC > G4C > G6C. It is concluded that there is a good correlation between the average pore diameter and the chloride diffusivity, and the mineral admixtures has a filling effect, which increases the tortuosity of pore and makes large pores finer, on the pore structure of cement matrix due to the latent hydraulic reaction with hydrates of cement.
Self-compacting concrete (SCC), characterized by the high flowability and resistance to segregation, is due to the high amount of paste (including cement and mineral admixtures) in contrast with normal concrete (NC). However, the high amount of paste will limit the volume fractions of coarse aggregate, and reduce the tendency of coarse aggregate to suppress drying shrinkage deformations. For this reason, SCC tends to produce higher values of drying shrinkage than NC for the most part. In order to assess the drying shrinkage of SCC quantitatively for application to offshore caisson foundations, the formulas presented in the literatures (ACI 209 and CEB-FIP) are used to predict the values of drying shrinkage in SCC according to the corresponding mix proportions. Additionally, a finite element (FE) model, which assumes concrete to be a homogeneous and isotropic material and follows the actual size and environmental conditions of the caisson, is utilized to simulate stress distribution situations and deformations in the SCC caisson resulting from the drying shrinkage. The probability of cracking and the behavior of drying shrinkage of the SCC caisson are drawn from the analytic results calculated by the FE model proposed in this paper.
It has been recognized that friction coefficient decreased with decreasing viscosity of oil in lubrication. In general, the more viscosity decreases, the more wear rate increases due to decrease load carrying capacity. It has been proposed that nano particles in oil decrease friction coefficient and wear rate. The purpose of this study is to apply oil of lower viscosity that mix with nano particles at the compressor used in a refrigerator to decrease friction coefficient keeping Load carrying capacity. Mineral oil of 8 cSt were used and mixed with nano particle. Friction coefficient was evaluated by a disk-on-disk tester. As a result, friction coefficient of nano oil decreased by 90% in comparison with raw oil. These results lead us to the conclusion that nano oil is new plan to raise efficiency of the compressor.

In this study, recently, more highly effective construction materials are needed for a reasonable cause and economical structure system is required as the construction structures become more multi storied, large-sized and diversified. Also, the experiment was not carried out to investigate and analyzed the strength properties and flowability of ultra-high strength accroding to the types of mineral admixtures. Therefore, this is an experimental study to compare and analyze the influence of cementitious materials type on the fluidity and the strength properties of ultra-high strength concrete. For this purpose, it has decided to do the mix proportions of concrete according to the type of cementitious materials (fly ash, blsat furnace slag, silica fume, slag cement) and W/B(23.5, 27.5, 31.5%) has selected. And then we conducted an experiment to find out basic properties of the ultra-high strength concrete such as slump-flow, O-lot and the age of specimens(3, 7, 28, 56days) for compressive strength.
The aim of this paper is to present the most important issues on the implementation, operation and maintenance of foundation for machines. The article presents the newest solutions both in terms of technology implementation as well as materials used in construction of such structures. Foundations for machines are special building structures used to transfer loads from an operating machine to the subsoil. The purpose of these foundations is not just to transfer loads, but also to reduce vibrations occurring during operation of the machine, i.e. their damping and preventing redistribution to other elements of the building. It should be noted that foundations for machines (particularly foundations for hammers) are the most dynamically loaded building structures. For these reasons, they require precise static and dynamic calculations, accuracy in their implementation and care for them after they have been made. Therefore, the paper in detail present the guidelines regarding: design, construction and maintenance of structures of this type. Furthermore, the most important parameters and characteristics of materials used for the construction of these foundations are described. As a result of the conducted analyzes, it was found that the concrete mix, in foundations for machines, should have a low water/binder ratio. For its execution, it is necessary to use broken aggregates from igneous rocks and binders modified with mineral additives and chemical admixtures. On the other hand, the reinforcement of composites should contain a large amount of structural reinforcement to prevent shrinkage cracks.
The possibility of using a combination of mineral admixtures as a replacement for cement may reduce the $CO_2$ emission which causes global warming and climatic changes on the environment. By using the combination of different byproducts from various industries, for replacing cement in concrete leads to saving in energy and natural resources. In this article, an attempt has been made to study the mechanical and water absorption properties of concrete incorporated with combination of Fly ash (FA), Alccofine (ALC) and Collodial Nano Silica (CNS) at 7, 28 and 56 days curing period. Cement has been partially replaced by combination of FA at 25%, ALC at 10% and CNS at 0.5%, 1%, 2% and 3% with water cement ratio of 0.43. The result indicates that the incorporation of combination of FA, ALC and CNS can be very effective in improvement of mechanical and water absorption properties of concrete. The Mix with a combination of 25% FA, 10% ALC and 1% CNS is most effective in improvement of mechanical and water absorption properties as compared with all other mixes.
Slag blended concrete is widely used as a mineral admixture in the modern concrete industry. This study shows an optimization process that determines the optimal mixture of air-entrained slag blended concrete considering carbonation durability, frost durability, CO2 emission, and materials cost. First, the aim of optimization is set as total cost, which equals material cost plus CO2 emission cost. The constraints of optimization consist of strength, workability, carbonation durability with climate change, frost durability, range of components and component ratio, and absolute volume. A genetic algorithm is used to determine optimal mixtures considering aim function and various constraints. Second, mixture design examples are shown considering four different cases, namely, mixtures without considering carbonation (Case 1), mixtures considering carbonation (Case 2), mixtures considering carbonation coupled with climate change (Case 3), and mixtures of high strength concrete (Case 4). The results show that the carbonization is the controlling factor of the mixture design of the concrete with ordinary strength (the designed strength is 30MPa). To meet the challenge of climate change, stronger concrete must be used. For high-strength slag blended concrete (design strength is 55MPa), strength is the control factor of mixture design.
Fiber-reinforced cementitious composites (FRCC) have emerged as a response to the calls for strong, ductile and sustainable concrete mixes. FRCC has shown outstanding mechanical properties and ductility where special fibres are used in the mixes to give it the strength and the ability to exhibit strain hardening. With the possibility of designing the FRCC mixes to include sustainable constituents and by-products materials such as fly ash, FRCC started to emerge as a green alternative as well. To be able to design mixes that achieve these conflicting properties in concrete, there is a need to understand the composition effect on FRCC and optimize these compositions. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the influence of FRCC compositions on the properties of fresh and hardened of FRCC and then to optimize these mix compositions using factorial design approach. Three factors, water-to-binder ratio (w/b), mineral admixtures (total of fly ash and metakaolin by cement content (MAR)), and metakaolin content (MK), were investigated to determine their effects on the properties of fresh and hardened FRCC. The results show the importance of combining both FA and MK in obtaining a satisfactory fresh and mechanical properties of FRCC. Models were suggested to elucidate the role of the studied factors and a method for optimization was proposed.

This paper evaluates the mechanical properties and durability of cement matrix blended with mineral admixtures and ferronickel slag(FNS) powder which is an industrial b y-product during ferronickel smelting process. The hydration heat, pore structure, compressive strength, length change, rapid chloride penetration test(RCPT), and freezing and thawing resistance of ternary blended cement matrix were investigated and compared with ordinary portland cement matrix. The result showed that the compressive strength of ternary blended cement matrix using ferronickel slag powder and mineral mixture was low in strength compared to the reference concrete, but recovered to a certain extent by using alkali activator. Length change of cement mortar using FNS powder have shown less shrinkage occurs than the reference specimen. In addition, irrespective of using the alkali-activators, all ternary mix are indicative of the 'very low' range for chloride ion penetrability according to the ASTM C 1202, and the freeze-thaw resistance also showed excellent results.

The high rising building construction makes increasing the requirement of high strength concrete. Especially, the workability analysis is related with dispersion of admixture such as SF for improving strength and FA, BS for reducing construction cost and improving durability of Ultra High Strength Concrete which has over 100 MPa of compressive strength is very important. Precisely, decreases dispersion because of lumping situation of each admixture and it causes the workability of admixture is decreased. Therefore, the workability of cement paste is tested for analyze effects of pre-mixed cement for solving those problems with it to this research. The summary of the results are like below. First of all, OBS is increasing workability more than OFS. This result causes that the glassy surface of BS in the OBS is increasing workability and the absorption of admixture of FA in the OFS is decreasing workability. In the case of mixing methods, pre-mixing method is increasing workability more than normal one. This result shows that the normal mixing method is bad dispersion of binders. The other side, the pre-mixing method is good. Furthermore, depending on the mixing time, according to the increasing mixing time such as 30, 60, and 120 seconds, the dispersion of binders and workability turns better.
