Protection against direct projectiles has been adapted just to the main command posts in the existing protective facility standards. However, protective capacity for the shelters against direct projectiles is also required because the initial survivability as well as the operation sustainment of the shelters is critical during a couple of days from outbreak of war. In this study, the Russian artillery is used to determine the existing and future threat of the North Korean Armed Forces indirectly. And then, required protective capacity of military shelters in the contact areas is calculated along with UFC 3-340-02 and it is verified using modeling and simulation. Based on the assessed capacity, actual inspect of military facilities with contact areas on spot is performed whether military shelters have enough protection capacity against determined threats. According to the field study, it is verified that proper earth bermed shelter has enough protection capacity. The results in this study could be used how to retrofit the current shelters in the contact areas.

This study is to research the military remains of Korean War(1950~53) focused on Yeonchen, Cheorwon, and Hwacheon-gun in the central border of DMZ. The Yeoncheon-gun is installing 'Yeolsoe' and 'Taepung' observatory in the frontline battlefield adjacent to Southern Limit Line(SLL), and not only protects many military remains including war memorial and crematory facilities of UN troops, but also utilizes them as active educational places. The Cheorwon-gun is actively making known 'Baengmagoji memorial, 'Labor party office' and other buildings adjacent to 'Tourist security DMZ', but needs to set up many monuments around battlefields of 'Gimhwa' and 'Daeseongsan' adjacent to 'Eco-peace park DMZ'. With the battlefield of 'Paroho' as the center, which our troops made brilliant military gains during the war, the Hwacheon-gun protects and informs military remains such as '643 and 490 battlefields', 'Kkeomeok and Guman bridge'. Developing a network for military remains in connection with the annual local festivals, the experience tour and security will be available at these places.

This paper aims to examine the constructional background and process of the Japanese military installations of Jisim-do, especially based on the military secret documents. Furthermore, it aims to analyze the characteristics of the remains. First, the study looked into the procedure of forcible occupation by Japan, involving the background of the designation and forcible accommodation of military reservations, and forced eviction by the purchase of land. Second, the study identified the background of construction, purpose, and construction period of each battery built throughout the 'Fort maintenance period' according to changes in international situations. Third, it is the 'Chukseongbu' that supervised the construction of fortresses. Fourth, the study considered a series of arrangement processes in which Jisim-do became a fortresses through "Yukgunsungdae-ilgi", a military operations report for the Japanese army. Through this, it discovered a clear construction process, construction details, and the supply for Jisim-do. The study was also able to reveal the meticulousness in constructing firm facilities more promptly from the 'design tactics'.

This study was carried out to investigate preference and perception of seafood among soldiers on cook's duty in military meal service. 58.9% of the respondents answered that they liked seafood and the major eating place were in their home(48.0%) and in the restaurant(40.4%). The favorite seafood cooking methods turned out to eat as raw fish, to grill, to stew, to fry in order. In comparison with the meat dishes, seafoods were considered superior to meat in nutritional value but evaluated inferior to meat in the aspects of sanitation and tasteless problem. 32.9% of the respondents answered they liked seafood dishes in military meal service and they disliked them because of taste or cooking method of the seafood. They liked fried or grilled seafood in military meal service. The plate waste amounts of the seafood menu were more than half in almost every surveyed menu and reasons for plate waste were fish smell and taste problems. The difficulties of cooking seafood in military meal service were breaking down of seafood during cooking and complexity of cooking. They scored seafood higher than average in nutrition, taste, diversity of cooking method and aspect of health. On the basis of the results above, introducing diverse cooking methods and menu are suggested and education of cooking skills and development of cooking facilities are needed in military meal service.

좋은 품질의 제품을 얻기 위해서는 제품 자체에 대한 품질 적합성 검사 이전에 생산 및 시험 관련 설비에 대한 적절한 검증이 반드시 선행되어야 한다. 다양한 생산 및 시험 관련 설비 중에서도 ATE는 오늘날 자동차산업, 항공·우주산업, 반도체산업과 같은 민간분야 뿐만 아니라, 방위산업의 군수품 생산 및 성능시험에도 활발히 사용되고 있다. 본 논문은 다양한 방법을 활용하여 군용 FM 무전기 세트의 자동시험장비 인 ATS에 대해 체계적으로 설계 적합성 검증을 실시 한 결과를 다루고 있으며, 군수품 ATE에 대한 설계 적합성 검증 절차가 명문화 되어있지 않은 현 시점에 좋은 참고자료가 될 것으로 기대된다.

So far, anti-piercing depths for concrete slabs have been determined using Conventional Weapon's Effects Program(CONWEP) that was developed by the U. S. Army's Corps of Engineering. However, it has been suggested by a number of field officers that the values computed by CONWEP tend to be too high for protective facilities used in small military units and that indiscriminate application of these values to such facilities would lead to uneconomical penetration-proof designs. In this study, gunshots onto RC slabs were carried out using KM80 bullets in order to measure the piercing depths. The observed depths and the depths offered by the CONWEP system differed greatly from each other by up to 119 centimeters. Based on the depth values obtained through this experiment, we have proposed a new equation to calculate effective anti-piercing depths for RC slabs against small caliber bullets.

Training & education, management of test & evaluation experts. b. Establishment of skill management system of test & evaluation. 3) Test facilities of weapon system test & evaluation a. Establishment of comprehensive improvement direction of test & evaluation installation and equipment. b. Consideration of counter measures to prevent overlapping investment, and to use the test & evaluation resources efficiently. c. Establishment of organic network for the effective use of test & evaluation installation and equipment. d. Establishment of detailed cooperation plan for the commonage of test & evaluation facility and equipment.

군보안상 해킹에 대응하기 위하여 군조직문화의 특성과, 군조직내 물리보안의 개념, 정보통신상의 해킹 개념을 이해하고, 군보안상 해킹사례를 분석하여, 문제점을 도출하고 대응방안을 통해 군의 물리보안활동을 강화해야 한다. 군내부망에 대한 맹신에서 벗어나 H/W적인 보강방안, 군내 정보통신자산에 대한 통제방안, 국방망과 인터넷망과의 연동이 되는 접점에 대한 보안통제 강화방안, 법적인 보완장치, 군에 지원되는 외주용역업체 및 외부민간업체에 대한 인원 시설 보안측면에서의 보안관리방안 등이 요구된다. 군조직에서 해킹의 위험성과 실제 발생한 해킹사례의 분석을 통해 국방망에 대한 해킹보안을 위한 강화대책과 법규적 보완장치 및 외주용역직원 통제방안 등에 대한 정책수립이야말로 정보통신기술적인 H/W 안전장치와 연계하여 물리적인 접근차단방식 등의 적용보다도 오히려 군조직 특성에 효율적으로 기능할 수 있는 해킹 대응방안이라고 할 수 있다.

Approximately 25% of military establishments became superannuated to unable perform their function, and it influences on the environment by construction wastes and the waste of national budget, as there is no rational and objective standard even though old facilities have been replaced through modernization project. Therefore, it has been searched to introduce industrial building system that can cope with the new building-construction and transference for the improvement of existing military establishments. However, as there is no economical estimation standard for practical use, industrial building-construction is still remaining at the initial stage, and the study is insufficient too. So. in this study, I would like to develope LCC cost model for rational LCC comparative analysis between industrial construction system (Modular) and existing reinforced concrete structure and cage, and to evaluate economical efficiency through case analysis.

It is reported that north Korea has already developed 1,500 to 2,000-km-range Scud missile. As a defensive strategy against Scud attack on military and civilian facilities the military authorities are considering deployment of Patriot missile. This paper deals with its optimal deployment strategy. In this problem a Patriot missile which has multiple-facility responsibility may be able to protect each of its assigned facilities only with a certain probability, not absolute protection, and it may not be adequate to have only a single missile protect a facility, either because of its operational reliability or because of its limited availability at any given point in time. We formulate this problem into the probabilistic partial set covering model developed by Sherali and Kim. The applicability, verification and validation of the model are tested via an abbreviated case study.
