In the current procurement system in Korean military, the army, navy and air force have their own distributors, military branches and warehouses. However, especially, it has been hard to have the economy of scale because most of suppliers have shipped their order from the suppliers to each of Korean military directly. Koran military considers the transportation cost as one of the management cost factors among various kinds of cost. Furthermore they have contracted with the suppliers in annual and collectively on the transportation. Hence they have been in trouble with getting efficiency of Defense budget execution because it is hard to make a decision of Defense budget with real transportation cost. Moreover Korean army, navy and air force have their own supply chain separately, so they can not cooperate flexible and quickly when they need. Therefore, in this research, we provide a benchmarking of DTCI (Defense Transportation Coordination Initiative) which has been proved that it has improved the procurement system in US implementing the integrated transportation system with 3PL and military. In addition we propose advanced integrated shipping model using Hub & Spoke system for Korean military. In order to prove its effect, we simulate our model based on the real data of the suppliers' delivery to compare with the current system when it comes to how much we can save the cost. Our research can provide evidence that the integrated procurement system in Korean military will improve Korean military procurement system.
The purpose of this study is to develop a mid and long-term roadmap for "Commercial and Military Collaboration Standardization(CMCS) program." We developed three layer's roadmap through systematical process. The roadmap is composed of four targets, eight projects and forty-six tasks. To evaluate the quality of the roadmap, we applied checklist method and statistical analysis. Consequently, the quality is positive and it shows that the roadmap could apply for CMCS program. In addition, it is expected to contribute to the standardization between military supplies and commercial products.
This study began to confirm or review the balance of power theory by applying scientific methods through experiential cases. Though there are several kinds of national power, this study supposes military power as a crucial power when it comes to war and peace. This research covered balance and imbalance through comparing relative military power between nations or nations' group. Comparison of relative military power can be achieved by statistically processing the values of which has been converted into the standard variables in same domain, then calculating the values of nation's power which has been synthesized different experiential factors. In addition, the criteria of experiential experiment is highly dedicated to European countries, USA, Japan prior to 1st and 2nd World War, as well as USA, Soviet Union and North East Asia during Cold War era. In addition, the balance of power theory has been redefined to review the action of the state upon the changes of power as mentioned in the theory. To begin with, the redefined theory states that relative level of military power between nations defines the consistency of peace and balance of power. If military power is enough to be on the range of level required to keep the power in equilibrium, peace and balance can be achieved. The opposite would unbalance the military power, causing conflicts. While the relative military level between nations change, nations seek to establish 'nations group' via military cooperation such as alliance, which also shift relative military power between nations group as well. Thus, in order to achieve balance of power, a nation seeks to strengthen its military power(self-help), while pursuing military cooperation(or alliance). This changes relative military power between nations group also. In other words, if there exists balance of power between nations, there is balance of power between nations group as well. In this theory, WWI and II broke out due to the imbalance of military force between nations and nations group, and reviewed that due to the balance of military force during the Cold War, peace was maintained. WWI was resulted from imbalance of military cooperation between two powerful states group and WWII was occurred because of the imbalance among the states. Peace was maintained from cooperation of military power and balance among the states during the Cold War. Imbalance among continental states is more threatening than maritime states and balance of power made by army force and naval force also is feasible. Also the outcomes of two variables are found military power balanced ratio of military power for balance is 67% when variable ratio of balance is 100% and standard value for balance is 0.86. Military power exists in a form of range. The range is what unstabilized the international system causing nations to supplement their military powers. These results made possible the calculation and comparison between state's military power. How balance of power inflicted war and peace has been studied through scientific reviews. Military conflict is highly possible upon already unbalanced military powers of North East Asian countries, if the US draws its power back to America. China and Japan are constantly building up their military force. On the other hand, Korean military force is inferior so in accordance to change of international situation state's survival could be threatened and it is difficult to achieve drastic increase in military force like Germany did. Especially constructing naval force demands lots of time; however but has benefit that naval force can overcome imbalance between continental states and maritime states.

The aspect of future warfare is NCW(Network Centric Warfare) in accordance with the IT development, so MND have the planning of M-BcN(Military Broadband convergence Network) establishment as the basic system of NCW by the end of 2008. IPv6 address must be managed systematically as a essential element of NCW. In the previous study, it is designed on the basis of the present military information communication network topology. However, it makes some problems. First, it is difficult for present topology to adapt the future M-BcN which is different from the present military network topology. Second, it has defects of inefficiency of route aggregation and enlargement of routing table size. In this paper, we improved the route aggregation and routing table size by assigning the hierarchical address on the basis of M-BcN topology and adjusting the position of field identifying service network. Furthermore, it is proved by the network simulation program(OPNET 12.0).

One of the current focal points in the defense sector is how to strategically leverage the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in military operations. The Fourth Industrial Revolution denotes a transformational shift in the environment where automation and connectivity are maximized, primarily driven by advancements in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Coined by Klaus Schwab at the 2015 Davos Forum, this term signifies a profound change in human activities, akin to how a single machine replaced hundreds of laborers in the past. The military application of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies is increasingly researched and anticipated to be actively implemented. Combat, as a subset of warfare, entails military actions between units conducting war. Typically performed by units to achieve one or more objectives, the concept of combat involves the fundamental ideas guiding the conduct of military operations against adversaries, both presently and in the future. Hence, it is imperative for our military to develop future combat concepts by harnessing the key technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
This research aims to generalize the thoughts of military science of the intellectuals through the books on military arts and science, which were published in the early Joseon Dynasty. In the early Joseon dynasty, it was in a position to establish the foundation in the new monarch internally, and, at the same time, to overcome foreign powers on both northern and southern borders externally. Thus, the books on military arts and science should have to be published under a premise of such situations. Accordingly, the books on military arts and science of those days took account of political stability having reflected the activities not only as the founder of Joseon but also as the military officer in the late Goryeo along with the books' own purpose to found military arts and sciences. The books on military arts and science that published in the early Joseon Dynasty were written mostly based on Chinese military books and its annotations, except some descriptions of the history of war. However, the intellectuals at that time endeavored to redefine military arts and science from the perspective of Confucianism having evaluated Chinese military science books that were biased to boost Machiavellian tactics. As a result of this, the geographical distinctions between China and Korea were the start of an argument for the military arts and science. There were also disputes over the relationships between the military science and the Yin-Yang School, and between the military science and Confucian school. Organizing our country's own history of war for the first time in the early Joseon Dynasty is worth for putting a high evaluation. However, it cannot help but to point out the limits of the books that there are noticeable descriptions about the factors related to toadyism, and that there are no descriptions about the wars against Japanese raiders. The books on military arts and science in the early Joseon Dynasty put emphasis on the commander's leadership that should be good at both literary and martial arts, as well as the harmony in military-to-military relations. After all, the intellectuals in the early Joseon Dynasty had linked the military arts and science to the sages of Confucian school under a premise that scholarship is to be used in combination with martial arts. And, as the nexus between the two, they noted the items of virtue, such as humaneness and righteousness (仁義); ritual and music (禮樂); loyalty and filial piety (忠孝); three fundamental principles (三綱); five moral disciplines (五倫). It can be said that this point is the typical features of the military arts and science in the early Joseon Dynasty, which cannot be found in Chinese military classics.

There is no absolute leadership through East and West. Just as past and present conditions are not the same, it is not easy for past leadership to apply to the present. The best leadership will be the leadership that can represent and lead the changing situation. In that sense, the creative leadership is the most appropriate leadership required by the present age. In the society, research on creative leadership is actively conducted in schools and companies, but there is no research on creative leadership in the military. This is the first study in the military about creative leadership. It is meaningful to understand the understanding of creative leadership and the applicability of the military and to provide a basis for future research. First, we measured the organizational effectiveness of creative leadership. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis using SPSS 18.0. The results of this study were as follows. First, the organizational effectiveness of creative leadership and organizational goals and achievement were measured, and it was found that there was significant influence on the relationship between creative leadership and organizational effectiveness. I could confirm some. This would be meaningful in that it suggested the possibility of applying the leadership of the creative leadership to lead the change of society and to implement the military command.
This study investigates and analyzes the diversity of menu in military meal services that are recognized by the soldiers who are familar with meal services, and suggests the implications on the results of the analysis. For the ranks of respondents in terms of demographic features, the sergeants and corporals were 43.2%(186) and 29.7%(128) apiece. It was identified that the diversity of menu and significant influences as 57.5%. Thus, it is necessary to diversity the menus more than the present menus to increase the satisfaction of new generation on military meal services. The most influential factor on the diversity of menu was the hard-boiled food as 29.9% among 15 items. Therefore, the first measure to intensify the satisfaction of soldiers on meal services is to diversity the hard-boiled food. Accordingly, this measure will contribute to relieve the most biggest complaints on the diversity of menu in military meal services. For this purpose, it is recommended to replace the kitchen work system consisted of kitchen polices with the non-officer system enabling the long-term service. The kitchen polices are transferred to the first reserve list when they are accustomed to their duties because the period of service is limited under the present kitchen police system. Therefore, the present kitchen police system has the problem that it can't overcome the limit in terms of the quality of meal service.
This study attempted to find out the moderating effects of ego-resilience in the relationship between soldier's military stress and military adjustment. The datas were collected from 321 soldier of military from questionaries in October, 2013. The results were as follows. The soldier level and academic career had no impact on the military adjustment. Military stresses of soldier had greater impact on the military adjustment than other factors. Ego-resilience also had positive impact on the military adjustment. This study demonstrated that ego-resilience of soldier had moderating effect in the relationship between military stress and military adjustment. This study verified that to improve the capability of military adjustment of soldier it is as important to attention soldier's inside thing, ego-resilience as environment things. Finally, the authors remarked the limits of this study and the suggestions for the further research directions.
Military experience has a great impact on a soldier ability to handle risks. Therefore, when those soldiers become managers, they may behave differently in making risky corporate decisions, especially in activities like the R&D investment. However, studies on how military experience affect R&D have been largely missing in the largest emerging economy, i.e. China, despite that the country hires a higher percentage of military managers than the US. In addition, it remains a question whether military managers affect the state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in China, as many of the corporate decisions are made by the government. This paper tries to address these questions. The imprinting theory and the upper echelon theory suggest that managers' personal experience can affect their behaviour, which in turn influences their corporate decisions. In this paper, we examine whether managers with military experience lead to higher R&D investment and whether such an effect exists in state-owned enterprises. Based on a sample of listed firms in China's A-share market over 2008-2017, we make two findings. First, companies with military managers have high R&D investment. By dividing managers' military positions into high and low rank, we find that companies tend to have higher (lower) R&D investment if their managers hold a high-rank (low-rank) position. Second, the effect of high-rank military managers on R&D investment is more pronounced if the manager is also the founder and the company is a non-state-owned enterprise. For low-ranking military managers, a stronger effect on R&D investment is also observed if they are also the founder, but whether their companies are state-owned or not has no impact on R&D investment. This study identifies managers' military experience as a contributing factors to corporate R&D investment in the largest emerging economy. This paper tests an implication of the imprinting theory and the upper echelon theory, i.e., managers' personal experience can affect their behaviour, which in turn influences their corporate decisions. Specifically, we focus on one aspect of personal experience - military experience - and look at whether it is beneficial to firms' technological innovation, therefore enriches the literature of managerial heterogeneity. Our findings on the influence of managers' military experience on firms' technological innovation can help us better understand the role of managers play in corporate decision making, and how managers' individual traits interact with the firm's characteristics.
