벼의 품종별 이앙시기가 미질 특성에 미치는 영향 II. 미립의 외관특성과 화학적 성분의 변화 (Characteristics of Grain Qualtiy at Different Transplanting Times among Rice Cultivars)

  • This experiment was conducted to investigatd the variation of some apearance chemical components at National Honam Agricultural Experiment Station in Korea. the treatements consisted of five transplating times, form May 5 to July 5 at 15-day interval , and six cultivars ; two early-maturing, two mid-maturing and two latematuring cultivars. The results showed that the variatio of grain appearance such as length-wide ratio was not significantly different in early -maturing cultivars, but mid-and late-maturing cultivars made slightly a round shape of grain in case of early transplanting. Percentage of complete grain was found to be high at transplanting of MAy 20 inearly-maturing cultivars and on June 5 in mid-and late-maturing ones. PERcentage of existed embryo after milling showed high at early transplanting of May 5 for early -maturing cultivars, and at the late transplanting of June 5 in early and late maturing one. The chemical components of rice grain showed high in protein , lipid,ash and amylose content inthe earlier transplanting, and also revealed high in carbohydrates, magnesium and potassium in the later transplanting of all cultivars.

Effect of Transplanting Time on the Physicochemical Properties of Starch in Different Mature Rice Varieties

  • The transplanting period limit considering the rice yield in the Dague region, the inland plains of Gyeongsangbuk-do, was estimated to be July 15th for early and mid-maturing rice and July 5th for mid-late maturing rice. However, as the transplanting time was delayed, the characteristics of rice starch changed significantly. In the case of early and mid-maturing rice varieties, the starch granule size increased as the transplanting time was delayed; the opposite tendency was observed for mid-late maturing varieties. In all mature rice types, the late transplanting resulted in a longer pasting time and a higher pasting temperature. In addition, the peak viscosity, breakdown, and gelatinization temperature were significantly lowered, the relative crystallinity degree decreased, and the setback was significantly increased. In the case of Ilpum, a mid-late maturing rice variety, the distribution of amylopectin short chains tended to increase when rice was transplanted on June 30th.

  • A study was carried our to investigate the characteristics of physico-chemical components palatability of cooked rice accoring to different transplanting time. The treatments were consisted of five transplanting time, from May 5 to July 5 at 15 -day intervals, and six cultivars ; two early-maturing, two mid-maturing and two late-maturing cultivars which are clearly identified by evaluation of cumulative temperature and growth duration from seeding to heading of rice plants. In gelatinization characteristics of rice grain, alkali digestion value was low in the earlier transplanting regardlessof maturing types. Initial pasting temeprature maximum viscosity and breakdown as amylogram charcteristics were high at the transplanting of June 5. The palatability of cookedrice was evaluated that early-maturing cultivars were much better in early transplanting than in late transplanting . The optimum transplanting time for palatibility was the periods from May 5 to 20 in early maturing varieties, May 20 to June 5 in mid-maturing and June 5 to June 20 in late-maturing ones at Honam district in Korea.

영남내륙 지역 과거 20년간 기후와 벼 조만성별 쌀 수량 변화 (Effect of Climate on the Yield of Different Maturing Rice in the Yeongnam Inland Area over the Past 20 Years)

  • 본 연구는 영남내륙에 속하는 대구 및 안동 지역의 벼 수량에 영향을 미치는 수량구성요소와 기상요소를 파악하고자 하였다. 과거 20년간 이들 지역의 기상변화를 분석한 결과 벼 재배기간 중 평균기온은 대구지역보다 안동지역에서 $+0.9^{\circ}C/10$년으로 2배 이상의 상승폭을 보였다. 이는 생식생장기의 기온상승이 주요 원인으로 분석되었다. 강수량은 감소한 반면 누적 일조시수는 현저하게 증가하였는데 특히 안동지역의 일조시수 증가 폭이 컸다. 대구의 쌀 수량성은 꾸준히 증가하여 2000년 초반 5년 평균 수량보다 최근 5년간 평균수량이 중만생종의 경우 18% 정도 현저한 수량 증가를 보였다. 벼 수량과 수량구성요소의 관계를 분석한 결과 대구지역 중생종의 수량 증가는 현미천립중과 등숙율의 증가가 주요 요인으로 작용하였으며, 중만생종의 경우 포기당 이삭수, 등숙율 및 제현율의 증가가 쌀 수량 증가에 영향을 미친 것으로 분석되었다. 안동의 경우는 중생, 중만생종에서 천립 중의 증가가 수량증가의 요인으로 분석되었다. 벼 수량과 기후요소와의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 대구지역에서 재배된 중만생종 벼의 쌀 수량은 등숙기의 일조시수와 높은 상관을 보였다. 안동지역 중만생종은 영양생장기 최고기온과 생육전반 일조시수의 증가가 수량에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 판단되었다.

  • 벼 생태형별 조만성 차이가 뚜렷한 조생종으로 오대벼와 신운봉벼, 중생종으로 청명벼와 장안벼, 만생종으로 동진벼와 만금벼 등 6개 품종을 공시하여 호남노업시험장 수도포장에서 1993년 5월 5일부터 15일 간격으로 5회에 걸쳐 작기이동을 시켜 이들의 작물학적 특성을 비교, 검토하였던 바는 다음과 같다. 1. 작기이동에 따른 출수기변이는 조생종은 6월 5일 이앙 이후에는 파종에서 출수까지 일수가 89~90일에 출수되어 변이폭이 적었으며 모든 품종에서 이앙시기가 늦어질수록 출수일수는 짧아졌다. 2. 일수입수, 등숙비율 및 천립중은 조생종은 5월 5일 이앙구, 중.만생종은 6월 5일 이앙구에서 많거나 무거운 경향이었다. 3. 수량성은 조생종은 5월 20일 이앙구에서, 중.만생종은 6월 5일 이앙구에서 최대수량을 나타내었다. 그러나 이앙시기가 늦어졌을 때 조생종과 만생종의 차는 6월 20일 이앙구에서는 10a당 44~77kg, 7월 5일 이앙구에서는 10a당 26~30kg로 만생조이 더 증수됨을 알 수 있었다.

Effect of Rice Transplanting Date and Optimal Transplanting Dates for Mid-Plain Area in South Korea

  • The transplanting date of rice affects grain yield and quality, and it is changed by the environment during cultivation. Thus, it is important to provide the optimal transplanting dates for rice growers under global warming environment. In this study, transplanting date experiments with thirty-day-old seedlings of three cultivars (early, mid, and mid-late maturity) were conducted at the National Institute of Crop Science in Suwon from 2018 to 2021 to determine the optimal transplanting dates for and quantify the effect of planting dates on yield and quality. Transplanting date was strongly associated with culitvar across every year. Clear relationships between transplanting date and head rice yield in early and mid-late maturing rice varieties were observed, and the highest head rice yields were observed during transplantings in mid and late June for early maturing cultivar and mid June for mid-late maturing cultivar. It is obvious that the optimal rice transplanting dates have been shifted and are better later than the optimal transplanting dates in 2002-2004. Days to heading was also strongly associated with the transplanting date and cultivar with 89% of the variation explained. Days to heading was reduced in the later transplanting dates. Grain yield was strongly associate with biomass production during ripening(R2=0.85), however translocated biomass from leaf and stem showed little association with grain yield. The results from this study reconfirmed the importance of shifting optimal transplanting dates to maximize head rice yield for the Mid-plain area in South Korea.

논 토양에서 벼 기상생태형별 $CH_4$ 배출양상 및 배출량 추정 (Methane Emission among Rice Ecotypes in Korean Paddy Soil)

  • 유기물 시용 및 벼 기상 생태형별 $CH_4$ 발생양상을 구명하고 이를 근거로 논 토양에서 배출되는 $CH_4$ 배출량을 추정하기 위해 미사질 양토에서 시험한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 시기별 $CH_4$ 배출은 조생종이 2번의 peak를 나타냈으며 중생종과 만생종은 3번의 peak를 나타냈으며 줄기를 통한 $CH_4$ 배출은 온도가 높을수록 많은 경향이었다. 2. $CH_4$배출량은 조생종에 비하여 중생종과 만생종이 높은 경향이었으며, 볏짚 시용구와 비교해볼 때 볏짚 무시용구에서 46%의 $CH_4$ 배출이 감소되었다. 3. $CH_4$ 배출 계수($gm^{-2}day^{-1}$)는 조생종이 0.394, 중생종이 0.407, 만생종이 0.411이었으며, 볏짚 무시용시 $CH_4$ 배출계수는 조생종이 0.198, 중생종이 0.269, 만생종이 0.273이었다.

조숙 옥수수에 의한 사료작물 작부체계 구성 II. 조숙 옥수수의 사료생산성에 미치는 만파와 밀식효과 (Application of Early-maturing Corn to Cropping System of Forage Crop II. Effects of Late Sowing and Dense Planting of Early-maturing Corn on Forage Productivity)

  • 조숙옥수수를 포함한 사료작물 작부체계 구성시 조숙옥수수의 생산성을 확보하기 위해 만파시밀식재배를 시도하였다. 조숙옥수수로는 Comet80, Comet85, Linda 품종을 이용하였고 만파정도는 수원19호 적기보다 45, 55, 65일 만큼 늦게 파종하였다. 파종밀도는 각 파종기에 대하여 60$\times$20, 50x20, 40$\times$20cm로 밀식정도를 달리하였다. 각처리구의 수확은 8월 29일 일괄실시 하였는데 조숙옥수수의 이러한 처리에 따른 수량구성특성 변화와 조숙옥수수의 촉과작물 작부체계도입 가능성을 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 6월 22일까지 파종에서 건물수량은 Comet85, 수원19호 Comet80, Linda 순이었다. 2. 6월 12일까지의 파종에서 수원19호의 이삭비율은 6.7%이었는데 비해 Comet80, Cometss, Linda의 평균 이삭 빈율은 40.3%이었다 3. 조숙품종의 밀식에 의한 건물수량 보상효과정도는 6월 22일까지 파종에서 20x50cm밀도가 20$\times$60cm밀도에서 보다 평균 37.3% 증수하였다. 4. 만파시 Comet85는 수원19호보다 평균 24.1 % 많은 TDN을 생산하였다.

  • Com(Zea mays L.) hybrid is recognized as the principal cmp in a double-cmpping system. Rye(Secale cereale L.), seeded after corn hybrid harvest, is the second crop in the system. Under this forage production system, corn planting is mostly delayed beyond mid-May due to delayed rye harvest on May, but the corn should be harvested until mid-August before the autumn rain started. It is for this reason that early maturing corn hybrids are preferred for silage crops in this system. Twenty eight cultivars of early maturing corn hybrids evaluated in this experiment at three locations (Suweon, Sunghwan and Cheju) for 3 yr(1994-1996) were compared for agronomic characteristics, forage yield and quality. Among the com hybrids tested, DUO1 and GL499 were recommended as the government superior corn hybrids due to their promising agronomic traits, such as short plant and ear heights, adquate dry matter percentage for silage on mid-August, good staygreen along with good lodging and disease resistance, better ear retention, similar yield compared to the control hybrid, Suweon 19 and above average stover quality.

Rice cultivars adaptable for rice based cropping systems in a paddy field in the Yeongnam plain area of Korea

  • This study was conducted to investigate suitable rice cultivars for various rice based cropping systems in a paddy field in the Yeongnam plain area. Thirteen rice cultivars (5 early, 3 medium and 5 mid-late maturing cultivars) and three transplanting dates (June 5, June 25 and July 5) were evaluated in this study. The mid-late and early maturing cultivars for the July 5 and June 25 transplanting headed before August 30 which is the safe heading date in the Yeongnam plain area, ranging from Aug. 26 - 28 and Aug. 18 - 23, respectively. The safe harvest time of rice for double and triple cropping systems should be before the middle of October for the cultivation of the succeeding winter crops. The rice yield was the highest for the June 5 transplanting regardless of the rice cultivars, and it gradually decreased as the transplanting date was delayed from June 5 to July 5 due to a decrease in the spikelet numbers per panicle number and in the ripened grain rate. In contrast, the other yield parameters that include the panicle number per $m^2$, the 1,000-brown rice weight, and the ripened grain ratio were not significantly affected. The result indicates that based on the milled rice, heading time and harvest time, a medium maturing cultivar (Haiami and Samdeog) would be applicable to a winter barley/wheat, garlic/onion-summer rice double cropping, while a mid-late cultivar (Saeilmi, Saenuri and Hyunpoom) would be suitable for a spring potato/waxy corn-summer rice double cropping in the Yeongnam plain area. On the other hand, an early maturing cultivar (Unkwang, Jokwang and Haedamssal) would be preferable for a triple cropping because of the short growth period of rice.
