Purpose: This study was aimed at developing an efficient nursing method for the management of constipation by comparing the effects of abdominal meridian massage on the symptoms of constipation. Method: The subjects were determined by the Rome II criteria and the Constipation Assessment Scale from Aug 30 through Sep 26, 2002. They were randomly divided into two groups: one experimental group of 16, another control group of 15. Abdominal meridian massage was given to the experimental group and no massage was given to the control group. The frequency of defecation and severity of constipation by CAS were measured. The data was analyzed with the t-test, $x^2$-test, and repeated measures ANOVA. Results: There was a significant improvement in frequency of defecation, and severity of constipation in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: Abdominal meridian massage can be considered an effective nursing method for the management of constipation among CVA patients.

The purpose of this article is to contribute to the knowledge of meridian muscles and myofascial meridians of upper limb that relate with normal movement and getting a glass of water. We researched on analysis of normal articular movement and the related muscles. In addition this article is suggested to study about the Therapy with apply meridian muscles and myofascial meridian lines to upper limb's motor disturbance.

Objectives & Methods: This research may accounts for Self Targeting Therapy (STT) which is a peculiar operation of Mountain Ginseng Pharmacopuncture. The objectives include analysis of its mechanism and reporting of clinical cases. Results: 1. STT of Mountain Ginseng Pharmacopuncture refers to the function of curing and making a diagnosis of the disease by oneself. 2. The mechanism of STT is to pursue the latent illness and make the remedial action by oneself. In this process, the symptom of latent disease is outwardly expressed. 3. The most popular symptom expressed is manifestation of pecular sensation along the specific meridians. Then followed headache, dizziness, powerless and etc. Diverse symptoms can be expressed by a patient. 4. If the revealed symptoms are carefully observed, the cause of the disease or the patient state can be diagnosed easily. Conclusion: The mechanism of STT of Mountain Ginseng Pharmacopuncture can be a great asset in clinical trials. Other studies on STT of Mountain Ginseng Pharmacopuncture should be followed in the future.

In the study of the Relaxation therapy of Qi-gong, the results were as follows: 1. Although there are various ways to practice qigong, the following three elements should always be included. There are regulation of mind, body and respiration, among which regulation of mind is the most important one. Regulating the mind into a state of tranquility. is the most fundamental skill in qigong therapy. So smoothing the circulation of meridians, strengthened Essential-material(精), Qi(氣), Sprit(神). 2. The Qigong therapy makes the body and mind relaxed, and it is helpful of preventation of disease and mental health. And it treats neurosis, somatoform disease, and it uses resoluton of stress. As a result, The Qigong-therapy is preservation of health, raises the resistance of disease. 3. The Qigong therapy is more effective by application of music, aroma, taping-therapy.

Objectives : We suggest the method of oriental neuropsychiatry treatment about amnesia through herb therapy. Methods : We investigate cause of disease, component of herbs about amnesia with classic current oriental medicine books. Results : Amnesia is due to simsinbulgyo(心腎不交), biwieyangher(脾胃陽虛), dammisimgyoo(痰迷心竅), emotional damage(七情所傷), extravasated blood(瘀血), deficiency of kidney (腎虛). There is 138 kind of herbs are used in our study that we find out that most frequently used herb is ginseng(人蔘). Heart meridian is the highest use in the all meridians. Sungon(性溫) is the highest use in the all kimi(氣味) Conclusions : We could confirm that herbs of amnesia treatment was related to the three vital organs(臟) named of spleen(脾), lung(肺), kidney(腎).

Correspondent acupunture like Dong's acupunture is widely used clinically upon musculoskeletal diseases chiefly and closely connected meridians theory. But Correspondent acupunture in scale is regardless of meridian pathways and acupoint. It is operated on a part fit for the seat of disease that is one of body for example the left upper limb, right lower limb etc. It is ranked in order of each organ size. Because the ranked part is inclusive of whole body and internal organs in scale, Correspondent acupunture in scale can be applied to every internal disease. As this acupuncture was operated at patients visited to Dong-Gang Oriental Hospital, it was effective in improvement of internal disease clinically and have merits of not operated on a seat of disease directly.

Objective : I would define the differences of sentences that 'A tongue can detect five basic tastes' and 'A mouth can perceive the five cereals' in Youngchu Macdo(靈樞 脈度). Methods : 1. I refer to literatures for the sentences in Youngchu Macdo 2. I look into the symptoms which may be caused by heart and pancreas troubles, respectively. Result : Human being can not detect a specific taste on his heart trouble. That is, acid, bitter, sweet, hot, and saltness can be all one. Human being may lose his appetite on his pancreas trouble. Even though the viscera and the tongue are connected to on-meridians, the function of a tongue is managed and controlled by a heart. Such a tongue perceives five basic tastes. Conclusion : A healthy tongue appreciates five basic tastes clearly and a healthy mouth may stimulate his appetite.

Wanghogo(王好古) is a prominent doctor in Geum-Won(金元) Dynasty. He is also the inheritor of Jangwonso(張元素) and Igo(李杲) in study, and studied "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)", "Sanghallon(傷寒論)". So, he contributed to a later age. Although we have some researches of Wanghogo, but the researches in his books are insufficient as yet. More, the publication year of his books have some different views, so I tried to study this. By this study, We can understand that Wanghogo published "Uiruwonyung(醫壘元戎)" which is for exogenous febrile disease and miscellaneous diseases in general plan of twelve meridians in 1297, "Eumjeung-yangnye(陰證略例)" which is for harm and diagnosis and treatment of Eum syndromes of exogenous febrile disease in 1303, and "Tang-aekboncho(湯液本草)" which is for property and flavor and meridian tropism of Herb and five kind of flavor's tonification and reduction, the meaning of prescription, care of health by food, "Chasananji(此事難知)" which is for meridian, Jangbu(臟腑), pathology, pathogen, clinical distinction, medical care in 1308.

Results : 1. Vermilionum is made from the mixture of mercury and sulfur, resulting in reddish mercuric sulfide(Hg2S). 2. The characteristics for Vermilionum are pungent and sweet, has warm temperature, and enters heart, lung, and stomach meridians. 3. The efficacies of Vermilionum are to eliminate parasites, expels phlegm and dampness, and sedate heart and calm spirit. 4. Long-term intake make results in mercuric toxication. 5. Further researches on the administration methods and dosages are required to reduce side effects.

Objectives : The paper seeks to provide a study on Bianque's Pulse Diagnosis in the contexts of Huangdi Neijing's Maijing and Nanjing. Methods : The paper provides a comparison of sentences regarding Bianque's Pulse Diagnosis discovered in Neijing, Maijing, and Nanjing. Results & Conclusions: 1. Bianque's Pulse Diagnosis was given birth through stages in accoradnce with the development of Pyobonjin, Maeggujin, Gyeongmaeghyjin, and Meridian Theory. 2. It seems that Neijing filled in Sambuguhujin and In-yeongbuyangmaegjin because they were not discovered in Canggong's Records of Diagnosis. 3. Bianque's Pulse Diagnosis diagnosed death using Osaegjin. Underneath each sentence within each biography regarding Meridian, there existed Pulse dead Hou. 4. Bianque's Pulse Diagnosis quantified the operation and length of pulse in time. The concept of small net was added which led to the establishment of Fifty circulations, Yeongwi theory, Meridians circulation, and chongu's boundary.
