Job satisfaction is very important for adequate manpower management in the medical field. To study job satisfaction among the radiologic technologists, 344 cases were reviewed in five university hospitals and one general hospital. Self-administered questionnaire was used to study their socioeconomic characteristics, working conditions, job satisfaction, and the factors affecting there Job satisfaction. The results were as follows : 1. There was statistically significant difference in job satisfaction according to the their department of employment, position, and hospital characteristics. 2. The group that was satisfied with their salary had a higher job satisfaction score, whereas others who were not satisfied ranked lower. 3. The positive answering group on the ability and job recognition ranked higher score on the job satisfaction than the negative answering group. 4. The group that was in good relationship with their superiors and co-workers scored higher on job satisfaction From the above results, the job satisfaction was high for the group with positive thinking and reply, but the intentin to change their job was low. Considering the fact that these results represent only 6 hospitals from limited arease, therefore, necessary to include more medical facilities nationwide, especially small-medium sized clinics or hospitals where the difficulty with high turnover rate of employment is expected, to study further various factors involving job satisfaction in the future.

Background: Our objectives were to review our institutional early and midterm experience with primary tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) repair, and identify predictors of intensive care unit (ICU) morbidity. Methods: We analyzed perioperative and midterm follow-up data for all cases of primary TOF repair from 2001 to 2012. The primary endpoint was early mortality and morbidity, and the secondary endpoint was survival and functional status at follow-up. Results: Ninety-seven patients underwent primary repair. The median age was 4.9 months (range, 1 to 9 months), and the median weight was 5.3 kg (range, 3.1 to 9.8 kg). There was no early surgical mortality. The incidence of junctional ectopic tachycardia and persistent complete heart block was 2% and 1%, respectively. The median length of ICU stay was 6 days (range, 2 to 21 days), and the median duration of mechanical ventilation was 19 hours (range, 0 to 136 hours). By multiple regression analysis, age and weight were independent predictors of the length of ICU stay, while the surgical era was an independent predictor of the duration of mechanical ventilation. At the 8-year follow-up, freedom from death and re-intervention was 97% and 90%, respectively. Conclusion: Primary TOF repair is a safe procedure with low mortality and morbidity in a medium-sized program with outcomes comparable to national standards. Age and weight at the time of surgery remain significant predictors of morbidity.
Background: This study investigates the effects of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) in preventing deltoid atrophy during the first 12 weeks after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. Methods: Eighteen patients undergoing arthroscopic repair of a medium-sized rotator cuff tear by a single surgeon, were randomized into two groups: NMES and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). Each group used the respective device for 6 weeks after surgery. Pain was measured at baseline, 6, and 12 weeks postoperatively, using the visual analogue scale (VAS); range of motion (ROM), abduction strength and functional scores were measured at baseline and 12 weeks postoperatively. Deltoid thickness and cross-sectional areas were measured using magnetic resonance imaging at 12 weeks postoperatively. Results: At 12 weeks post-surgery, no statistically significant difference was observed between the NMES and TENS groups in the pain VAS, the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand score, ROM, and abduction strength. Postoperative decrease in the thickness of the anterior, middle, and posterior deltoid, at the level just below the coracoid, was -2.5%, -0.7%, and -6.8%, respectively, in the NMES group, and -14.0%, -2.6%, and -8.2%, respectively, in the TENS group (p=0.016, p=0.677, and p=0.791, respectively). At the level of the inferior glenoid tubercle, postoperative decrease in area of the deltoid was -5.4% in the NMES group and -14.0% in the TENS group, which was significantly different (p=0.045). Conclusions: NMES has the potential for reducing deltoid atrophy after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, suggesting that NMES might help minimize postoperative atrophy after various shoulder surgeries.

This study was conducted to provide data for the development of health program to promote patient safety nursing activities by analyzing the effect of perception of importance of patient safety management, perceptions of patient safety culture and organizational communication on patient safety nursing activities in small & medium hospital nurses. Data collection was conducted from February 8 to 15, 2019. A total of 202 questionnaires were administered to nurses who have worked for more than six months in three small and medium hospitals. The perception of importance of patient safety management of the subjects was $3.60{\pm}.49$, perception of patient safety culture was $3.39{\pm}.41$, organizational communication was $3.29{\pm}.45$ and patient safety nursing activities was $4.08{\pm}.50$. The patient safety nursing activities was related to perception of importance of patient safety management(r=.597, p<.001), perception of patient safety culture(r=.626, p<.001), organizational communication(r=.559, p<.001), there was a significant positive correlation. Perception of importance of patient safety management(${\beta}=.258$, p=.001), perception of patient safety culture(${\beta}=.323$, p<.001) and organizational communication(${\beta}=.160$, p=.044) had a significant effect on patient safety nursing activities(F=53.067, p<.001). The explanatory power of these variables was 43.7%.
Purposes : The purpose of this study is to identify factors that have effects on safety activities of hospital personnels by investigating causality between patient safety culture, job stress, safety system and safety activities of faculty and staff member who are working for oriental medicine hospital of university. Methodology : The subjects were 246 employees working in 4 oriental medicine hospitals of university in Daejeon and Chungcheongnam-do. The data were collected from January 16 to January 25, 2017 using a structured questionnaire. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan test with SPSS 22.0 were used. Findings : The activity score for patient safety of faculty and staff member, who were experienced at job training program after joining a company and regular training course for qualification or license, was meaningfully higher than that of group who had no job training experience. The result indicated that the higher there is level of safety culture and safety system and the lower there is work stress, the more the activity has positive effect on patient safety. The level score of awareness for safety culture of faculty and staff member in C hospital, which is facing financial crisis in business circumstances recently, showed average value of 3.29. It was significantly lower than that of the other three hospital. Also, The activity score for patient safety was markedly lower than that of the other three hospital. This result become interested in the process of linking non-financial performance and financial performance. The level score of safety activity in A hospital which obtained healthcare accreditation was remarkably higher than that of the other three hospital which didn't certify healthcare accreditation. Pratical Implications : Subjects about Q.I or patient's experience management must be included in curriculum of Oriental medicine. It is necessary to get the effect of job training program for faculty and staff member through the process of preparation for obtaining healthcare accreditation. When the hospital director is appointed, it must be considered that he/she has the ability to attach importance to analysis and management of the factors creating safety accident, and has business mindset for healthcare delivery of customer- centricity. This research showed that financial performance of hospital, which of business environment is favorable; located in metropolitan city and having large scale of hospital and quality of residence rating but low-level of safety culture and safety activity, was lower than that of general hospital situated in small and medium-sized cities. More research needs to be done for answering this result.
The purpose of this study is to ascertain whether the effect of introduction of OCS(Order Communication System) to the hospital is satisfied or not comparing the anticipated effect with the actual effect. For this purpose, a domestic hospital which has introduced and has been operating OCS for several years was chosen. Based on the internal data of S Hospital prepared before introducing OCS, researcher has analyzed the basic direction, design standard and status of operation after the introduction of OCS, etc. After analyzing the status of operations of several departments using OCS and interviewing with the chiefs of pertinent departments, a survey form was designed. Actual survey and interviews were conducted by the researcher for weeks to know whether doctors, nurses, medical technicians and clerks of the patient management dept. were satisfied with OCS and to find if they have any recommendations to improve OCS. Based on the analysis of survey, the effect of OCS was evaluated whether it has satisfied the anticipated effectiveness. For the question if they feel convenient in using OCS, doctors, nursing staffs in charge of ward and the staffs of billing dept. has answered that they were all satisfied(100%). The answers for the same question were relatively high in the case of nurses in charge of outpatient and staffs of radiography. Of course, there have been some nurses and staffs who complained for the inconvenience. However, overall satisfaction was high on the average. Some common problems occurred after the introduction of OCS were frequent errors due to instability of OCS system, paralysis of function of hardware on data back-up system and redundant investment due to erroneous choice of DB program in setting DB. It was also pointed out that lack of computer education and low participation of medical staffs has resulted in failure of developing effective software. As a result, it has lowered the efficiency of OCS. For example, some works have to be done by hands even after OCS. Based on the result of this research, recommendations to maximize the effect of OCS were presented as follows. First, strong leadership of CEO and active cooperation of doctors are mandatory. Second, all the process of hospital work should be analyzed and be redesigned in more efficient ways. Third, OCS should be designed to be user-based system which can be used efficiently by all staffs of the hospital. Forth, prior to the operation of OCS, proper tests of the program and trainings of the pertinent staff are required. Fifth, prior to the selection of hardware, BMT(Bench Marking Test) should be conducted. Sixth, before introducing OCS, staffs in charge of OCS should visit many hospitals operating the OCS system and take their cases into account.
This study analyzed the effects of hospital service quality, emotional attachment, and perceived value on customer satisfaction. In particular, the purpose of this study was to understand the role of emotional attachment and perceived value in the relationship between hospital service quality and customer satisfaction. For this purpose, the results of structural equation model analysis with the data collected by conducting a survey on customers visiting small and medium-sized hospitals were as follows. First, hospital service quality felt by hospital customers had a significant effect on emotional attachment and customer satisfaction, but had no significant effect on perceived value. Second, the emotional attachment felt by customers who visited the hospital had a significant effect on perceived value and customer satisfaction. Third, emotional attachment felt by customers in the relationship between hospital service quality and customer satisfaction had a significant mediating effect. Through the above results, it was confirmed that the service quality felt by customers visiting the hospital leads to attachment to the doctor's competence and medical technology competency, which leads to an increase in customer satisfaction through this attachment. The implications obtained based on these results are as follows. In order for the service quality felt by the customers who visit the hospital to lead to customer satisfaction, above all, it is important to focus on the emotional attachment they can have and find a strategy to improve the service quality. In other words, it is necessary to establish excellent medical staff and medical technology so that hospital customers can have high confidence in the competence of doctors and medical technology, and establish a public relations strategy that can effectively display these competences. Through these efforts, hospital customers will feel a strong attachment to doctors and medical technology, which will increase their satisfaction with the hospital.

The 64-year-old female patient with cough and intermittent hemoptysis of six months duration visited our hospital. On chest computed tomography, a small, ovoid, 1.3cm sized and well enhanced lesion was detected on the distal trachea. Two multiple lobulated lesions on the sigmoid and transverse colon were revealed on the colonoscopy. The histological findings showed small and medium sized lymphocytes infiltration, CD20 and CD79a positive staining and multiple lymphoepithelial lesions on the distal trachea and colon tissues. Herein, a case of primary MALT lymphoma, with involvement of the trachea and colon, which was treated with rituximab (CD20 anti-monoclonal antibody), cyclophosphamide, adriamycin, vincristine and prednisolone (CHOP regimen), is reported.
The purpose of this study is to provide nurses with basic data to prepare for systematic and stable retirement plans and successful aging by investigating successful aging, turnover intention and retirement plans of nurses in small and medium-sized hospitals and identifying correlations. The participants of 290 subjects were recuited from hospital nurse in G City. A structured questions was used to collect data, and data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. Methods: Statistical analysis was made with collected data by using SPSS WIN 18.0 program. The results of this study were summarized as follows Results: Successful aging and retirement plans shows a positive correlation(r=.13. p=.022), emotional retirement plans and perception of successful aging showed a positive correlation((r=.16, p=.007). Conclusion: Study results suggested that, required to provide nurses with stable working environment and help nurses to establish systematic and specific long/short-term plans and carry out the balanced retirement plans from economic, physical and emotional perspectives in order to increase nurses' perception of successful aging and retirement plans and reduce the turnover rate.
Adenomyoepithelioma is an uncommon benign tumor of the breast. We present the fine needle aspiration cytologic features of adenomyoepithelioma in a 23 year-old Korean women, initially diagnosed as fibroadenoma. Aspiration cytologic findings of the left breast mass revealed high cellularity, small to medium sized, less cohesive epithelial clusters, rich naked cells and amorphous materials on background. The epithelial cells were round and uniform with no cytologic atypia or mitosis. Myoeplthelial cells were conspicuous with peripheral rimming along the epithelial clusters. Small amount of fibrotic stromal tissues were observed. Distinguishing features from typical fibroadenoma are less tight epithelial clusters, dyscohesive epithelial cell aggregates, more abundant naked cells and scant stromal tissue fragments.
