  • According to the new multi-media appeared as a result of rapid growth of the information and science technique, the school library must be changed to the integration of the teach-study media resource from the existing print media. It means that the school library has to play a role of the study center with a different media from the existing teaching material, teaching instrument, facility and opportunity. The Information education must be conducted in the way of an integrated education course and able to do both information transaction and problem settlement. The education facility to solve this problem is the school library. Therefore, the school library becomes important more and more. It means that the school library is the center of entire study and education material for the teacher and student is focused on it. It is urgent to make the standard of the school library In order to cope with the new education and information environments. And especially it is very important to make a plan about the location and scale of the school library to improve the quality of the children's studying activity. The location of the school library is decided under consideration of the relationship with other room of school house and the proper scale of it is between 2.5units and 7.0units of classroom based on the number of class.

  • This paper discusses the future of journalism, including social-media use. The findings within this paper are based on the results of the "Social Survey on Social Media Use in the Great East Japan Earthquake." The author conducted this Internet-based survey in June 2012, and the results discussed herein are based on a sample size of 1,000 persons. The main findings suggest that social-media use during and immediately following the March 11, 2011 earthquake in Japan has been developing in a mutually complementary manner with traditional media.

  • The phosphorus(P) adsorption capacities of various filter media were investigated in relation to the size and types of fitter media to screen the optimum condition. The objective of this study was to evaluate the constructed wetland longevity by improving P adsorption capacity. The maximum P adsorption capacities of filter media A($4{\sim}10\;mm$), B($2{\sim}4\;mm$) and C($0.1{\sim}2\;mm$) were 8, 10 and 22 mg/kg, respectively, showing those increased as the filter media size decreased. Among the experimental media, the optimum filter media size was $0.1{\sim}2\;mm$. When the filter Medium was supplemented with organic materials which were piled up and decayed in the constructed wetland, the P adsorption capacity was significantly enhanced Under the conditions of optimum fitter media size, the respective Maximum P adsorption capacities of filter media C when supplemented with Ca, Mg, Al and Fe were higher than that of filter media C. However the addition of Ca, Mg, Al and Fe to constructed wetland were not recommended because of the possibility of their secondary pollution. The maximum P adsorption capacity of filter media C was 22 mg/kg, but this was increased to 36 mg/kg when filter media C was supplemented with 2% oyster shell.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the value of briquet ash as a component of rooting media in Chrysanthemum morifolium. Various rooting media were made in mixture at different ratio and alone using sand, vermiculite and briquet ash as components of soil mixture. In order to investigate the effect of the particle size of briquet ash on rooting of stemouttings, various particle sizes were used as rooting media. Rooting ratio, number of root and root length were examined to evaluate the effect of the various rooting media and the particle sizes of briquet ash. The important conclusions of this study are summerized as follows; 1. Briquet ash was better rooting medium than sand, but it showed more effective result when it was used in mixture with other rooting media. 2. The particle size of briquet ash as a rooting medium to produce a healthy vegetatively propagated plant showed the best result at 2-3mm.

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the effects of information searches from media as communication cues for health behavior, specifically smoking, drinking liquor, cancer examinations, and regular exercise. Methods: Data were collected through a web survey with a sample size of 600 and analyzed using SPSS 18.0. Results: The results show that the newspaper as a communication cue has an effect on health behavior such as regular exercise and smoking, whereas television only affects regular exercise. Conclusion: The results indicate that there are differences between media as communication cues to improve health behavior and that messages related to health information should be exposed with cautious consideration to media choice so as to increase the effects of message. Managerial implications of the study results are suggested.

  • Entrapped media with cellulous triacetate in which activated sludge was applied to induce operating factors and sewage treatment on site. The results are summarized as follows; The treatment efficiency of entrapped media is 92%, 90% and 80% at the size of 5mm, 7mm, and 12mm, respectively. Also, treatment efficient rate was increased by the packed amount of media in less than 30 % packed, while in more than 40 % packed that was decreased. It takes 10 day to reach the steady states and it is less than the existing activated sludge method. The slopes of oxygen consumption rate are almost parallel both in the entrapped media and free sludge. When organic loading rate is less than 1.0 kg/m$^3$ㆍd on site, it is achieved good removal rate independent of changes of loading rate.

  • This paper proposed a new STM-based media streaming scheme to assure the wireless ad hoc link quality. The proposed scheme can assure the link quality by the stream monitoring, assurance, and update procedure, and it can be monitored the media frame by streaming time $t_{new}$. This paper minimizes the link error rate and re-transmission rate using the media streaming update based on the frame size. The simulation results show thst the proposed scheme outperforms STCP and RMST.

  • Objectives of this study were to investigate influencing factors of detention time, particle size distribution, and filter medium characteristics for waterworks sludge dewatering. The stepped pressure filtration was carried out with lab scale apparatus and the filter press pilot test for dewatering was conducted at the water treatment plant. Effects of filter medium and polymer dose were examined through observing water content and dewatering velocity and cyclic dewatering rate with filter press pilot test. Relationships among detention time, particle size distribution and filtration resistance were analyzed. Prolongation of sludge detention time was found to cause blinding phenomenon in cake and filter medium and to decrease dewatering process efficiency. The average specific resistance increased according to detention time. In pilot test of dewatering for thickened sludge with Nylon Multi-NY840D and Nylon Mono-100% filter media, dewatering velocities were 0.92 and $0.93kg\;DS/m^2{\cdot}hr$ according to 0.1% polymer dose of dried solids weight base. And cyclic dewatering rates were 2.45 and $2.50kg\;DS/m^2{\cdot}cycle$ cycle for the Nylon Multi-NY840D and Nylon Mono-100% media. Dewatering velocity of polymer dosed sludge was observed to be higher than that of non-polymer sludge.

  • In recent years, 3D displays are used in many media including 3D movies, TV, mobile phones, and PC games. Although 3D displays provide realistic viewing experience as compared with 2D displays, they also carry issues such as visual fatigue or size distortion. Focusing on the latter, we developed prediction function of object size perception as a function of object depth in 3D display. In Experiment 1, subjects observed 3D square of a fixed size of varying depth, and manipulated 2D square to make it as large as the 3D square. Conversely, in Experiment 2, subjects observed 2D square of a fixed size, and manipulated 3D square of varying depth to make it as large as the 2D square. In both Experiments 1 and 2, we found that size perception of 3D square linearly changed depending on depth of the square, and the linear relationship between depth and size was identical in both experiments. The predictive regression function, which predicts object size perception based on object depth, obtained in this research will be very useful in the creation of 3D media contents.
