기업의 업무특성과 사회적 커뮤니케이션 미디어 사용 성과;사회적 영향과 친분관계의 조절효과를 중심으로

  • 사회적 커뮤니케이션 미디어는 기업 조직의 사회적 네크워크를 활발히 사용되고 있다. 각 커뮤니케이션 정보시스템은 매우 유용하게 사용되고 있지만, 업무적 특성과 사회적 영향 요인에 대한 연구는 매우 적은 편이다. 또한 새로운 정보기술의 도입, 예를 들면, 메신저와 무선 화상통신과 같은 발전은 매체 풍부성 이론으로 아직까지 적용 검증되지 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 업무적 특성과 미디어 활용 그리고 업무성과에 대한 검증을 실시하였다. 분석방법은 서베이를 통하여 소중대기업에서 근무하고 있는 280명을 대상으로 하였고 회귀분석으로 분석결과를 도출하였다. 연구결과로는 업무 특성은 미디어 사용에 긍정적인 영향요인이며 사회적 영향과 친분관계는 두 관계를 조절하고 있음을 발견하였다. 또한 커뮤니케이션 미디어의 활용은 각 업무성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 발견하였다.

온라인 채팅에서 아바타의 도입이 매체에 대한 사용자의 인지에 미치는 영향 (A comparison of user perception between text-based and avatar-based chatting)

  • This study compares avatar-based chatting and text-based chatting. The comparison focuses on the effect of different chatting methods on user perception such as flow, social presence, and media richness. Especially the effects of avatar are examined across varying task types-work-oriented and fun-oriented. To accomplish this objective, a laboratory experiment was conducted using 80 experienced subjects. The results indicate that avatar-based chatting was more playfulness than text-based chatting in general. However, the effects of chatting methods on user perception were quite different according to the task types. There was no significant difference between avatar-based chatting and text-based chatting in the fun-oriented task, but avatar-based chatting was perceived as a more playful, focused, telepresent, and social present method in the work-oriented task.

e-Learning에서 정보시스템 특성과 사용자의 자기조절특성이 학습 성과에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Learning Performance on the Characteristics of Information System and User's Self-Regulated Characteristics in the e-Learning)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify which factors are important for learning performance and the moderating effects of self-regulated factors such as elaboration and organization between users characteristic(perceived usefulness, preparatory education, internet experience) and learning performance. To Accomplish these research purpose, this study performed a survey and 173 response were used for statistical analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, 7 factors(ease of use, interactivity, accuracy, media richness, perceived usefulness, preparatory education, internet experience) had significant impacts on learning performance whereas reliability did not. Second, the moderating effects of self-regulated factors showed that Elaboration of self-regulated factors can be considered as a significant moderating variable between 2 factors(perceived usefulness, internet experience) and teaming performance.

가상현실(Virtual Reality) 광고가 소비자 구매의도에 미치는 영향: 이성적인 반응과 감성적인 반응의 통합 (The Effects of Virtual Reality Advertisement on Consumer's Intention to Purchase: Focused on Rational and Emotional Responses)

  • According to Wikipedia, virtual reality (VR) is defined as a technology that allows a user to interact with a computer-simulated environment. Due to a rapid growth in information technology (IT), the cost of virtual reality has been decreasing while the utility of virtual reality advertisements has dramatically increased. Nevertheless, only a few studies have investigated the effects of virtual reality advertisement on consumer behaviors. Therefore, the objective of this study is to empirically examine the effects of virtual reality advertisement. Compared to traditional online advertisements, virtual reality advertisement enables consumers to experience products realistically over the Internet by providing high media richness, interactivity, and telepresence (Suh and Lee, 2005). Advertisements with high media richness facilitate consumers' understanding of advertised products by providing them with a large amount and a high variety of information on the products. Interactivity also provides consumers with a high level of control over the computer-simulated environment in terms of their abilities to adjust the information according to their individual interests and concerns and to be active rather than passive in their engagement with the information (Pimentel and Teixera, 1994). Through high media richness and interactivity, virtual reality advertisements can generate compelling feelings of "telepresence" (Suh and Lee, 2005). Telepresence is a sense of being there in an environment by means of a communication medium (Steuer, 1992). Virtual reality advertisements enable consumers to create a perceptual illusion of being present and highly engaged in a simulated environment, while they are in reality physically present in another place (Biocca, 1997). Based on the characteristics of virtual reality advertisements, a research model has been proposed to explain consumer responses to the virtual reality advertisements. The proposed model includes two dimensions of consumer responses. One dimension is consumers' rational response, which is based on the Information Processing Theory. Based on the Information Processing Theory, product knowledge and perceived risk are selected as antecedents of intention to purchase. The other dimension is emotional response of consumers, which is based on the Attitude-Structure Theory. Based on the Attitude-Structure Theory, arousal, flow, and positive affect are selected as antecedents of intention to purchase. Because it has been criticized to have investigated only one of the two dimensions of consumer response in prior studies, our research model has been built so as to incorporate both dimensions. Based on the Attitude-Structure Theory, we hypothesized the path of consumers' emotional responses to a virtual reality advertisement: (H1) Arousal by the virtual reality advertisement increases flow; (H2) Flow increases positive affect; and (H3) Positive affect increases intension to purchase. In addition, we hypothesized the path of consumers' rational responses to the virtual reality advertisement based on the Information Processing Theory: (H4) Increased product knowledge through the virtual reality advertisement decreases perceived risk; and (H5) Perceived risk decreases intension to purchase. Based on literature of flow, we additionally hypothesized the relationship between flow and product knowledge: (H6) Flow increases product knowledge. To test the hypotheses, we conducted a free simulation experiment [Fromkin and Streufert, 1976] with 300 people. Subjects were asked to use the virtual reality advertisement of a cellular phone on the Internet and then answer questions about the variables. To check whether subjects fully experienced the virtual reality advertisement, they were asked to answer a quiz about the virtual reality advertisement itself. Responses of 26 subjects were dropped because of their incomplete answers. Responses of 274 subjects were used to test the hypotheses. It was found that all of six hypotheses are accepted. In addition, we found that consumers' emotional response has stronger impact on their intention to purchase than their rational response does. This study sheds much light into practical implications for both IS researchers and managers. First of all, while most of previous research has analyzed only one of the customers' rational and emotional responses, we theoretically incorporated and empirically examined both of the two sides. Second, we empirically showed that mediators such as arousal, flow, positive affect, product knowledge, and perceived risk play an important role between virtual reality advertisement and customer's intention to purchase. In addition, the findings of this study can provide a basis of practical strategies for managers. It was found that consumers' emotional response is stronger than their rational response. This result indicates that advertisements using virtual reality should focus on the emotional side, and that virtual reality can be served as an appropriate advertisement tool for fancy products that require their online advertisements to give an impetus to customers' emotion. Finally, even if this study examined the effects of virtual reality advertisement of cellular phone, its findings could be applied to other products that are suited for virtual experience. However, this research has some limitations. We were unable to control different kinds of consumers and different attributes of products on consumers' intention to purchase. It is, therefore, deemed important for future research to control the consumer and product types for more reliable results. In addition to the consumer and product attributes, other variables could affect consumers' intention to purchase. Thus, the future research needs to find ways t control other variables.

정보디자인에서 효과적 커뮤니케이션을 위한 멀티미디어 사용원리에 관한 연구 (A Study on Principle for Use of Multimedia in order to have Effective Communication in Information Design)

  • 최근 정보디자인 영역에서 애니메이션을 포함한 멀티미디어 활용이 급증하고 디자인 현장에서 응용이 확대되고 있음에도 불구하고 관련 연구는 매우 부족하며, 특히 어떤 특성이 정보전달효과를 향상시키는지에 대한 연구는 많지 않다. 지금까지 디자이너들의 관심은 독창성, 다양성 등 화면의 시각적 완성도에 집중되어 있었으며, 실제로 디자인에서 인지적 문제는 간과되어 왔다. 그러나 정보디자인의 궁극적 목적이 정보의 정확한 전달에 있다는 점을 생각한다면 독창성이나 다양성 이전에 정보 사용자의 혼란을 줄이고 정보전달력을 향상시키기 위한 인간의 시각적 인지능력, 기억력 등에 근거한 연구가 선행되어야 하고 이를 디자인에 적용하는 노력이 필요하다하겠다. 따라서 본 연구는 정보디자인에서 멀티미디어가 사용자인지 및 커뮤니케이션에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 매체의 효용성 이론에 근거하여 검토하고 어떠한 환경 하에서 효과가 극대화될 수 있는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 매체의 효용성에 관한 이론들을 정리해 보면 멀티미디어와 같은 발달된 정보기술은 매체의 내재된 풍요도로 인하여 정보전달에 효과적으로 작용할 것이나 멀티미디어의 효과는 전적으로 매체풍요도의 관점에서 단순화시키기보다는 과제와의 적절성이나 인지적 적절성의 관점에서 다각적으로 분석해야 한다. 최적의 인터페이스 디자인을 위해서는 불필요한 인지부하를 없애면서 제한된 양의 작동기억을 최대한 활용하여 지식을 습득할 수 있도록 정보를 구조화하는 것이 중요하며, 또한 정확하고 성공적인 심상구축이 가능하도록 정보특성에 맞는 적절한 미디어 선택과 표현방법의 제시가 필요하다 할 것이다. 본 연구는 정보디자인의 커뮤니케이션 효과를 높이기 위하여 어떤 정보기술을 활용해야 하는가에 대한 의문을 매체의 효용성에 관한 이론들을 근거로 살펴봄으로서 향후 디자이너의 의사결정에 있어서 도움을 주고자 하였다.

상호매체성의 이론과 그 적용 - 피터 그리너웨이의 <프로스페로의 서재>를 중심으로 (A Theory of Intermediality and its Application in Peter Greenaway's )

  • The cinema of Peter Greenaway has consistently engaged questions of the relationship between the arts and particularly the relations of image and writing to cinema. When different types of images are correlated and merged with each other on the borders of painting, photography, film, video and computer animation, the interrelationships of the distinct elements cause a shift in the notion of the whole image. This analysis proposes to articulate the complex relationship between the 'interartial' dimension and the 'intermedial' dimension in Peter Greenaway's film, (1991). If the interartiality is interested in the interaction between various arts, including the transition from one to another, the intermediality articulates the same type of relationship between two or more media. The interactional relationship is the same on both sides; on the contrary, the relationship between art and media does not show the same symmetry. All art is based on one or more media - the media is a condition existence of art - but no art can't be reduced to the status of media. This suggests that if the interartiality always involves the intermediality, this proposal may not be reversed. First, we analyse a self-conscious investigation into digital art and technology. Prosospero's Books can be read as a daring visual essay that self-consciously investigates the technical and philosophical functions of letters, books, images, animated paintings, digital arts, and the other magical illusions, which have been modern or will be post-modern media to represent the world. Greenaway uses both conventional film techniques and the resources of high-definition television to layer image upon image, superimposing a second or third frame within his frame. Greenaway uses the frame-within-frame as the cinematic equivalent of Shakespeare's paly-within-play : it offer him the possibility to analyse the work of art/artist/spectator relationship. Secondly, we analyse the relationship between the written word, oral word and the books. Like the written word, the oral word changes into a visual image: The linguistic richness and nuances of Shakeaspeare's characters turn into the powerful and authoritative, but monotone, voices of Gielgud-Prospero, who speaks the Shakespearean lines aloud, shaping the characters so powerfully through his worlds that they are conjured before us. Specially each book is placed over the frame of the play's action, only partially covering the image, so that it gives virtually every frame at least two space-time orientations. Thirdly, we try to show how Peter Greenaway uses pictorial references in order to illustrate the context of the Renaissance as well as pictorial techniques and language in order to question the nature of artistic representation. For exemple, The storm is visualised through reference to Botticelli's : the storm of papers swirling around the library is constructed to look like a facsimili copy of Michelangelo's Laurentiana Library in Florence. Greenaway's modern mannerism consists in imposing his own aesthetic vision and his questioning of art beyond the play's meta-theatricality: in other words, Shakespeare''s text has been adapted without being betrayed.

모바일 인스턴트 메신저 의존, 생활 장애 및 디지털휴식의도에 영향을 미치는 요인: 지각된 위험의 조절효과에 관한 연구 (Determinants Impacting on Dependency of Mobile Instant Messenger, Barrier of Living, and Intention to take Digital Break: The Moderating Effect of Perceived Risk)

  • As the use of smartphone has rapidly spread into the current society, the mobile instant messenger applications such as Kakaotalk, Tiktok, and Line have become an indispensable part of our daily lives. While, the mobile instant messenger has brought us many positive changes, social problems stemming from the dependency on the mobile instant messenger has been occurred. The dependency of the mobile instant messenger can negatively affect daily lives and lead to stress or addiction. Therefore, it is very important to examine how we can prevent such dependency and addiction. In this respect, the purpose of this study is to investigate determinants impacting on the mobile instant messenger dependency, barrier of living, and intention to digital break. The statistical analysis of survey results shows that enjoyment, identity, relationship commitment, critical mass and ease of use are significantly related to mobile instant messenger dependency, while media richness is not significantly related. Mobile instant messenger dependency have a positive effect on barrier of living, which then has a positive effect on digital break. Lastly, the moderating effect of perceived risk is significant. This research suggests theoretical and business implications to prevent mobile instant messenger dependency.

The Effects of Photo Decoration Cues on Online Consumers' Affective Responses in Distribution Science

  • Purpose: This study to seek to answer two research questions in distribution science: what photo decoration cues in online grocery stores could be identified? Could photo decoration cues significantly effect on the affective perception and behavioral intention of consumers? Research design, data, and methodology: his study conducted a laboratory experiment with a 2×2×2 factorial design to validate the proposed research model and test our proposed hypotheses. Research design, data and methodology: Two stages experiments were adopted in this study, among 360 voluntaries who have had an experience of online grocery shopping, 331 valid data had been collected and analyzed using MANOVA and PLS-SEM algorism. Results: (1) both reflective surface and complementary goods layout lead to visual appeal and shopping enjoyment; (2) contrast color usage positively impacts on visual appeal while does not significantly affect shopping enjoyment; (3) consumers' affective responses positively impact attitudes toward product and store which in turn lead to purchase intention and store loyalty. Implications for research and practice are discussed. Conclusions: Using the media richness theory, visual rhetoric theory and visual design literature as the theoretical foundation, the study provides a solid foundation to comprehend the impact of photo design artifacts on consumers' affective responses when online consumers shopping online for fresh grocery.

과학기술관련 사회쟁점 미디어 정보에 대한 중학생들의 평가 양상 탐색 (Patterns of Student Evaluation on Media Information Regarding Socioscientific Issues)

  • 대중매체를 통해 전달되는 과학기술관련 사회쟁점(SSI)에 관한 미디어 정보를 비판적으로 평가하여 합리적인 의사결정을 내릴 수 있는 능력은 시민으로서 지녀야 할 과학적 소양의 한 측면이다. 본 연구는 합리적인 의사결정을 위해 선행되어야 할 학생들의 정보 평가 양상에 관한 것으로, 일상에서 접하는 SSI 미디어 정보를 과학적 요소가 강조된 수치정보와 정서적 공감이 강조된 공감정보로 구분한 후, 이러한 정보의 특성에 따라 중학생들의 정보 평가 양상이 어떻게 다른지 탐색해보았다. 본 연구에는 중학생 96명이 참여하였으며, 신문기사 형식의 SSI 자료 내 정보의 신뢰도와 설득력 있는 정도를 묻는 질문지를 도입하였다. 질문지는 세 가지 SSI 주제에 대한 찬성 또는 반대 입장에 대해 과학적 요소가 강조된 수치정보와 정서적으로 호소하여 공감을 불러일으키는 공감정보 기사 2개로 구성되었으며, 정보가 얼마나 믿을만한가를 묻는 신뢰도 평가 문항과 정보가 얼마나 설득력 있는가를 묻는 설득력 있는 정도 평가 문항을 포함하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째 전반적으로 학생들은 SSI 맥락에서 공감정보보다 수치정보를 더 신뢰하는 것으로 나타났다. 신뢰하는 정보 요소로는 수치정보에서는 과학적 증거와 데이터를, 공감정보에서는 사례, 사회 문제, 표현, 그리고 가치를 주로 신뢰하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 설득력 있는 정도에 대한 평가는 수치나 공감과 같은 정보의 유형보다는 SSI 맥락이나 내용적인 측면에 따라 상이한 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 학생들은 SSI 정보를 담은 기사의 설득력을 판단할 때 정보에 담긴 가치, 근거의 풍부함, 정보의 논리성을 바탕으로 판단하였다고 볼 수 있다.

메타버스 해석과 합리적 개념화 (Explication and Rational Conceptualization of Metaverse)

  • 개념 정리도 되지 않은 채, 언론과 업계에서는 메타버스에 대한 다양한 논의가 진행 중이다. 스티븐슨(Neal Stephenson)의 소설 '스노우 크래쉬(Snow Crash, 1992)'에서 용어가 처음 사용된 이래로, 미국의 미래가속화연구재단(Acceleration Studies Foundation: ASF)이 2007년 메타버스 개념을 처음 정리했지만 이후 메타버스는 오랫동안 주목을 받지 못했다. 그러나 2020년 가을 엔비디아(NVIDIA)가 실시간 3D 시각화 협업 플랫폼 '옴니버스(Omniverse)'를 소개하며 제2의 인터넷으로 메타버스를 설명하고, 로블록스(Roblox)가 기업공개(IPO)를 하며 자사의 서비스를 메타버스로 설명하면서, 메타버스는 현실과 가상의 경계를 넘나드는 새로운 세상으로 인식하게 됐다. 이 연구는 어느새 미디어와 콘텐츠를 넘어 새로운 삶의 공간으로 그려지는 메타버스에 대한 다양한 논의를 정리하고, 메타버스에 대한 새로운 정의를 제안하고자 한다. 메타버스의 의미를 설명하기 위해서 ASF가 제안한 두 개의 축과 네 개의 시나리오를 중심으로 가상세계, 거울세계, 증강현실, 라이프로깅의 의미를 다양한 연구를 통해 연구를 통해 정리한 후에, 메타버스 설명의 문제점을 비판하고 대안으로 인간 중심, 사용자 중심의 메타버스 정의로 인간 커뮤니케이션, 현실, 비현실 경험, 그리고 확장현실을 제안하며, 메타버스에 대한 재개념화를 시도했다.
