  • This paper provides an overview of distance-based formation control. Firstly, in this paper, we introduce preliminary background materials that are used in defining the distance-based formation control. Then, based on the preliminary background, we briefly review main results developed thus far in this field. Lastly, we provide some issues that need to be studied further in future works.

  • Positioning system is widely used for many practical applications. This system requires a good controller to achieve high accuracy and fast response with simple and self-adjustable design. In order to satisfy the above requirements, a new practical controller for positioning systems, namely nominal characteristic trajectory following (NCTF) controller with PI compensator, has been proposed. However, the effect of actuator saturation can not be completely compensated for integrator windup when the object parameters vary. This paper presents a method to improve the NCTF controller by overcoming the problem of integrator windup by adopting a fuzzy system. The improvement of the NCTF controller is evaluated through simulation using a rotary positioning system. The simulation result has demonstrated the effectiveness of the compensated NCTF in overcoming the problem of integrator windup.

  • In the data from synthetic resin makers, there is no shrinkage deviation through injection molding. But, after making the required products, even in the same conditions, there are some size-deviation in colors. Into our research, we checked main factor by the injection molding conditions. Our tests have shown this results, there are some shrinkage deviation in collors and, in the injection molding conditions, packing pressure is the main factor.

Sensorless Estimation of Single-Phase Hybrid SRM using Back-EMF

  • This paper presents a novel scheme to estimate the rotor position of a single-phase hybrid switched reluctance motor (HSRM). The back-EMF generated by the permanent magnet (PM) field whose performance is motor parameter independent is adopted as an index to achieve the sensorless control. The differential value of back-EMF is calculated by hardware and processed by DSP to capture a fixed rotor position four times for every mechanical cycle. In addition, to accomplish the normal starting of HSRM, the determination method of the turn-off time position at the first electrical cycle is also proposed. In this way, a sensorless operation scheme with adjustable turn on/off angle can be achieved without substantial computation. The experimental verification using a prototype drive system is provided to demonstrate the viability of the proposed position estimation scheme.

  • 본 논문은 비대칭 2상 SRM의 센서리스 속도제어를 위한 초기각 검출 및 초기 기동방식과 자속관측기를 적용한 센서리스 제어에서 전동기의 온도 및 파라미터 변동에 의한 자속 오차 성분으로 인해 발생하는 위치 추정오차를 보상하기 위한 새로운 보상기를 제안한다. 제안된 방식은 전압펄스 인가로 초기각을 검출하고 검출된 초기 위치정보를 바탕으로 동일한 전압펄스 인가를 통해 비여자상이 여자상이 되는 회전자 위치를 검출하여 상여자를 교체하는 초기기동을 통해 자속관측기를 적용한 센서리스 제어로 안정적으로 진입하도록 한다. 이 때, 제안된 추정위치 보상기를 통해 추정된 센서리스 위치를 순시적으로 보상한다.

  • In this paper a novel bearingless switched reluctance motor (SRM) with hybrid stator poles is proposed. The operating principle of proposed motor is also presented. Compared with existing bearingless SRM, it has many advantages such as lower number of switches and cost, simpler control algorithm, lower thermal load. Meanwhile through finite element method (FEM) characteristics of proposed structure such as inductance, torque and radial force can be obtained. According to the FEM results, the above advantages of the proposed structure can be verified.

  • At the high speed operation, the high demagnetization voltage can reduce the negative torque, so the output power and efficiency can be improved. In this paper, a novel power converter for single phase SRM with high demagnetization voltage is proposed. A simple passive capacitor circuit is added in the front-end, which consists of three diodes and one capacitor. Based on this passive network, the two capacitors can be connected in series and parallel, so the phase winding of SRM obtains general do-link voltage in excitation mode and the double dc-link voltage in demagnetization mode. The operation modes of the proposed converter are analyzed in detail. Some computer simulation results is done to verify the performance of proposed converter.

  • Electrochemical discharge machining is a very recent technique for non-conducting materials such as ceramics and glasses. ECDM is conducted in the NaOH solution and the cathode electrode is separated from the solution by H$_2$ gas bubble. Then the discharge is appeared and the non-conductive material is removed by spark and some chemical reactions. In the ECDM technology, the H$_2$ bubble control is the most important factor to stabilize the discharging condition. In this paper we proposed the discharge peak monitoring/discharging duty feedback algorithms fur the discharge stabilization and the feasibility of this algorithm is verified by various pattern machining in the constant preload conditions for the cathode electrode.

The starting characteristic such as current, torque and is important in LSPM because of demagnetizing of the permanent magnet.   • This paper presents the design and fabrication results of a voice coil type actuator for auto focusing(AF) functional module of mobile phone cameras. Axisymmetric FEM and 3-dimensional FEM is used to analyze and design the actuator, and the performance is verified by fabrication and evaluation of it. The size of the fabricated 2M pixel AF module is $10.5{\times}10.5{\times}7.9mm$, and the operating performance was satisfactory.
