토마토 수확로봇 개발 -토마토의 3차원 위치검출기술- (Development of Tomato Harvesting Robot - 3-D Detection Technique for identifiying Tomatoes -)

  • It is very difficult to mechanize tomato harvesting because identifying a target tomato which is partly covered by leaves and stalks is not easy. This research was conducted to develop tomato harvesting robot which can identifying a target tomato, determining its dimensional position, and harvesting it in a limited time. Followings were major findings in this study. The first visual system of the robot was composed of two CCD cameras, however, which could not detect tomato not placed on the center of lens and partly covered by leaves or stalks. Secondary visual device, combined with two cameras and pan tilting was designed which could decreased the positioning errors within $\pm$10mm but still not enough for covered tomato by any obstacles. Finally, laser detector was added to the visual system that could reduce the position detecting errors within 10mm in X-Y direction and 5mm in Z direction for the covered tomatoes.

  • This study was conducted to develop a vehicle, leading or following a worker at a certain distance to assist laborious transporting works in greenhouses. A prototype vehicle was tested in the practical field conditions using a developed control algorithm. Results of this study were summarized as following: 1. The sensing device consisted of infrared sensors was attached to the front of the vehicle and turning following algorithm was developed to make the vehicle turned as it follows a worker simultaneously. 2. The measured average power consumptions were 110W and 89W, equivalent to 5.2-6.4 hrs battery durations, at low speed with and without the maximum payload, respectively. 3. Results of the travel tests showed that the deviations from the center of row spacing were $\pm$100 mm along the ridge and $\pm$85 mm along the hydroponic bed in the greenhouse. Therefore, the worker-following transport vehicle was feasible to travel along the row without collision in the greenhouse.

DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTEGRATED GRADER FOR APPLES

  • An integrated grader which measures soluble solid content, color and weight of fresh apples was developed by NAMRI. The prototype grader consists of the near infrared spectroscopy and machine vision system. Image processing system and an algorithm to evaluate color were developed to speed up the color evaluation of apples. To avoid the light glare and specular reflection, an half-spherical illumination chamber was designed and fabricated to detect the color images of spherical-shaped apples more precisely. A color revision model based on neural network was developed. Near-infrared(NIR) spectroscopy system using NIR reflectance method developed by Lee et al(1998) of NAMRI was used to evaluate soluble solid content. In order to observe the performance of the grader, tests were conducted on conditions that there are 3 classes in weight sorting, 4 classes in combination of color and soluble solid content, and thus 12 classes in combined sorting. The average accuracy in weight, color and soluble solid content is more than about 90 % with the capacity of 3 fruits per second.

히트파이프를 이용한 온풍난방기 배기열회수 시스템의 열회수 특성 (Heat Recovery Characteristics of the Exhaust Heat Recovery System with Heat Pipe Unit Attached to the Hot Air Heater in the Greenhouse)

  • Hot air heater with light oil combustion is used as the most common heater for greenhouse heating in the winter season. However, exhaust gas heat discharged to atmosphere through chimney reaches up to 10~20% of total heat capacity of the oil burred. In order to recover the heat of this exhaust gas and to use for greenhouse heating, the heat pipe type exhaust heat recovery system was manufactured and tested in this experiment. The system consisted of a heat exchanger made of heat pipes, ø15.88${\times}$600mm located in the rectangular box of 675(L)${\times}$425(W)${\times}$370(H)mm, an air suction fan and air ducts. The number of heat pipe was 60, calculated considering the heat exchange amount between exhaust gas and air and heat transfer capacity of a heat pipe. The working fluid of heat pipe was acetone because acetone is known for its excellent heat transfer capacity. The system was attached to the exhaust gas path. According to the performance test it could recover 53,809 to 74,613kJ/h depending on the inlet air temperature of 12 to -12˚at air flow rate of 1.100㎥/h. The temperature of the exhaust gas left the heat exchanger dropped to 100$^{\circ}C$ from 270$^{\circ}C$ after the heat exchange between the suction air and the exhaust gas.

LISREL모형을 활용한 임업기계화 사업의 평가 (Evaluation of the Forestry Mechanization Project Using LISREL Model)

  • 본 연구는 임업기계화 사업을 추진함에 있어서 임업기계화 사업에 미치는 영향요인을 분석하고, 이들 요인이 사업의 결과 및 효과에 어느 정도 영향을 미치는지 그 관계를 분석하여 향후 임업기계화 사업의 성공적인 집행을 위한 유용한 정책 자료를 제공하고자 수행되었다. 연구방법은 이들 요인들 상호간의 구조관계를 공변량구조모형인 LISREL을 활용하여 분석하였으며, 자료 수집은 임업기계화 사업을 추진 운영하고 있는 사업담당자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 임업기계화 사업성과와 정책만족도, 교육훈련에 관한 응답결과는 보통으로 나타났으며, 정책의 일관성과 법률 및 제도 정비와 임업기계의 보급은 보통보다 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 향후 임업기계화 정책 추진에서 법률 및 제도 정비를 통한 일관성 있는 정책과 임업기계의 보급률을 높이는 정책을 추진할 필요가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 임업기계화 사업에서 정책기반, 임업기계보급과 교육훈련 모두 정책성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 정책성과는 정책만족도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 향후 임업기계화 정책사업을 성공적으로 추진하고 정착시키기 위해서는 임업기계화 정책기반 조성도 중요하지만 더욱 많은 임업기계의 보급 및 오퍼레이터의 교육 훈련이 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

온풍난방기의 배기열을 이용한 지중 난방용 온수공급시스템의 열회수특성 (Heat Recovery Characteristics of the Hot Water Supply System with Exhaust Heat Recovery Unit Attached to the Hot Air Heater for Plant Bed Heating in the Greenhouse)

  • Hot air heater with light oil burner is the most common heater for greenhouse heating in the winter season in Korea. However, since the thermal efficiency of the heater is about 80∼85%, considerable unused heat amount in the form of exhaust gas heat discharges to atmosphere. In order to capture this exhaust heat a heat recovery system for plant bed heating in the greenhouse was built and tested in the hot air heating system of greenhouse. The heat recovery system is made for plant bed or soil heating in the greenhouse. The system consisted of a heat exchanger made of copper pipes, ${\Phi}12.7{\times}0.7t$ located in the rectangular column of $330{\times}330{\times}900mm$, a water circulation pump, circulation plastic pipe and a water tank. The total heat exchanger area is 1.5$m^2$, calculated considering the heat exchange amount between flue gas and water circulated in the copper pipes. The system was attached to the exhaust gas path. The heat recovery system was designed as to even recapture the latent heat of flue gas when exposing to low temperature water in the heat exchanger. According to the performance test it could recover 45,200 to 51,000kJ/hr depending on the water circulation rates of 330 to $690\ell$/hr from the waste heat discharged. The exhaust gas temperature left the heat exchanger dropped to $100^{\circ}C$ from $270^{\circ}C$ by the heat exchange between the water and the flue gas, while water gained the difference and temperature increased to $38^{\circ}C$ from $21^{\circ}C$ at the water flow rate of $690\ell$/hr. By the feasibility test conducted in the greenhouse, the system did not encounter any difficulty in operations. And, the system could recover 220,235kJ of exhaust gas heat in a day, which is equivalent of 34% of the fuel consumption by the water boiler for plant bed heating of 0.2ha in the greenhouse.

대형 농기계의 효율적 이용을 고려한 포장구획에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Plot Geometry for Mechanization)

  • The plot geometry of the paddy land is directly related to the performance of machines, especially those having a large size and high speed. The study was to investigate the optimum plot geometry from the standpoint of mechanization. A simulator, Field-Plot-Structure-Evaluation-System(FPSES) was developed for evaluation of the field performance of machines according to the plot geometry. The efficiency and capacity of different sizes of machinery used for rice farming functions were analyzed for a various combination of plot geometry, which could be used as reference for the land reclamation planning and mechanization programming. It is shown that the plot size of about two hectares having a length of 200m and width of loom may be optimum, considering the efficiency and capacity of large sized machinery available currently and in near future.

열펌프를 이용한 양액베드 냉난방시스템 개발 (Development of Heating and Cooling System with Heat Pump for Nutrient Solution Bed In Greenhouse)

  • In order to control the root-zone temperature of greenhouse crops in the hydroponics at hot and cold season, heat pump system for cooling and heating was built and tested in this work. The system was air-to-water type and vapour compression type. The heating and cooling mode was selected by the four way valve. Capacity of the compressor was 3.75㎾ and heat transfer area of the evaporator and the condenser were 3.05㎡ and 0.6㎡, respectively. According to the performance test, it could supply heat of 42,360 to 64,372kJ/h depending on the water circulation rate of 600 to 1,500ℓ/h, respectively, when indoor air temperature was 10∼20$\^{C}$. COP of heat pump system was 3.0 to 4.0 in the heating mode. But, COP of the cooling mode was 1.3 to 2.1 at indoor temperature of 20∼35$\^{C}$. The feasibility test in the greenhouse the developed heating and cooling system was installed, showed that the heating cost of the developed system was only about 13% of that of the conventional heating system. The heating cost of the developed system was 367won/day(electric consumption 9.7㎾h/day), while that of the conventional system was 2,803won/day(oil consumption 7.7ℓ/day) at the same heating mode.

And, the condensed water amount varies from 16 to $43m{\ell}$ at the same water circulation rates. This condensing heat recovery system can reduce boiler fuel consumption amount in a day by 34% according to the feasibility study of the actual mimitomato greenhouse. No combustion load was observed in the hot air heater.
