In this study, Pb(La,Ce)Ti $O_3$ ceramics were manufactured for 20 MHz resonator application. Electromechanical coupling factor( $k_{t}$, $k_{t3}$, mechanical quality factor( $Q_{mt}$ , $Q_{mt3}$ and dydnamic range (D.R) of thickness vibration mode were measured as the variations of $\ell$/t(length/thickness) ratio of ceramic substrates. Mechanical quality factor( $Q_{mt3}$) and dynamic range of third overtone thickness vibration mode showed the highest value of 2,773 and 52.22dB at specimen S4($\ell$/t=12), respectively. The excellent temperature stability of resonant frequency suitable for resonator application was shown, regardless of thermal shock.k.ock.k.

In this study, in order to develop low temperature sintering piezoelectric transformer, $(Pb_{0.99-x}Ca_xSr_{0.01})Ti_{0.96}(Mn_{1/3}Sb_{2/3})_{0.04}O_3$ ceramic systems were fabricated using $Na_2CO_3-Li_2CO_3$ as sintering aids and investigated with the amount of Ca substitution. The piezoelectric transformer requires high electromechanical coupling factor $k_t$ and high mechanical quality factor $Q_{mt}$ for generating high output power At the ($PbCaSr)Ti(MnSb)O_3$ ceramics with 24mol% Ca substitution sintered at $900^{\circ}C$, electromechanical coupling factor $k_t$ and mechanical quality factor $Q_{mt}$ showed the optimal values of 0.504 and 1655 respectively, for thickness vibration mode multilayer piezoelectric transformer application.

In this study, resonant characteristics of $Pb_{0.88}(La_{0.6}Nd_{0.4})_{0.08}(Mn_{1/3}Sb_{2/3})_{0.02}Ti_{0.98}O_3$ ceramics were investigated with the variations of electrode radius size for manufacturing the best 30MHz SMD type ceramic resonator with the size of $3.7{\times}3.1{\times}0.255mm^3$. Physical properties were proper for appling for 30MHz SMD type ceramic resonator. In third overtone thickness vibration mode, with increasing electrode radius size, resonant resistant($Z_r$) was decreased gradually. Mechanical quality factor($Q_{mt3}$) and dynamic range(D.R) showed the maximum value of 2,283, 47.1dB respectively, at 0.74mm electrode radius size.

In this study, in order to develop low temperature sintering ceramics for thickness vibration mode multilayer piezoelectric transformer, $PbTiO_3$ system ceramics were fabricated using $Na_2CO_3,\;Li_2CO_3,\;MnO_2\;and\;Bi_2O_3$ as sintering aids and their dielectric and piezoeletric properties were investigated according to the amount of $Bi_2O_3$ addition. At the sintering temperature of $900^{\circ}C\;and\;Bi_2O_3$ addition of 0.1 wt%, density, grain size, thickness vibration mode eletromechanical coupling factor($k_t$), thickness vibration mode mechanical quality factor($Q_{mt}$) and dielecteic constant(${\varepsilon}_r$) showed the optimum value of $6.94g/cm^3,\;2.413{\mu}m$, 0.497, 3,162 and 209, respectively, for thickness vibration mode multilayer piezoelectric transformer application.

In this study, modified PbTi $O_3$ ceramics was manufactured to apply for 30MHz SMD type ceramic resonator with the variations of electrode weight. To investigate the effects of electrode weight on resonant characteristics of ceramic resonator using 3$^{rd}$ overtone thickness vibration mode, ceramic wafers for resonator were fabricated by evaporating electrode weights of 0.66, 1.765, 2.32, 3.87$\times$ 10$^{-4}$ g/c $m^2$ with silver, respectively. And then, SMD type ceramic resonators were fabricated with the size of 3.7$\times$3.1mm and electrode radius size of 0.77mm. With increasing electrode weight, resonant resistance was gradually decreased. At the electrode weight of 2.32$\times$10$_{-4}$ g/c $m^2$, mechanical quality factor( $Q_{mt3}$) and dynamic range(D.R) showed the maximum value of 2,152 and 49dB, respectively.

In this study, the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency($TCF_r$), dielectric and piezoelectric properties of $Pb_{1-x}Sr_x[(Sb_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})_{0.035}(Mn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})_{0.065}(Zr_{0.49},Ti_{0.51})_{0.90}]O_3$ ceramics were investigated with the Sr substitution to Pb site. The dielectric constant was increased according to the increase of Sr substitution and electromechanical coupling factor($k_t$) also showed the highest values of 0.485 when the Sr substitution was 5 mol%. Moreover, the mechanical quality factor($Q_{mt}$) showed the highest value of 233 when the Sr substitution was 2 mol%.

The structural, piezoelectric and dynamic range characteristics of modified PbTi $O_3$ceramics were investigated as a function of Mn $O_2$addition. With the increase of Mn $O_2$addition, Curie temperature was decreased. As the increase of Mn $O_2$addition, mechanical quality factor ( $Q_{mt3}$) in the third over tone thickness mode was increased. Dynamic range in the third over tone thickness mode was also increased with the increase of Mn $O_2$addition. The composition ceramics added to 0.075wt% Mn $O_2$showed the best properties for SMD type resonator using third over tone thickness vibration in terms of high Curie temperature more than 31$0^{\circ}C$ and dynamic range of 49.38dB.B.

최근, LED 구동 인버터, DC-DC 컨버터, AC-DC 컨버터 및 형광등 ballaster 등의 고전압전원장치등에 압전변압기를 적용하고자 하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 순수한 $PbTiO_3$는 큐리온도($490^{\circ}C$)가 높고, 기계적강도가 크며, 비유전율(약 200 정도)이 작다. 또한, 두께방향 진동의 전기기계 결합계수 ($K_t$)가 윤곽진동의 전기기계 결합계수($K_p$)보다 크므로 두께방향의 진동모드를 이용한 벌크파 진동자의 경우 윤곽진동방향으로 불요신호(spurious signal)가 적고, 작은 grain size($1\;{\mu}m$정도)로 미세가공이 가능하여 고주파 재료로 이용되고 있다. 압전변압기의 출력 전력을 향상시키기 위해서는 적층으로 제작하여야 하는데 적층 압전변압기 제작시 층간의 내부 전극이 도포된 상태에서 소결하여야 한다. 이때 소걸 온도가 높으면 Pd 함랑이 높은 전극을 사용하여야 하는데 Pd 전극의 가격이 비싸 소자의 경제성이 떨어지게 된다. 따라서 순수한 Ag 전극을 내부전극으로 사용하기 위해서는 $900^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 소결이 가능하여야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 $(Pb,Ca,Sr)Ti(Mn,Sb)O_3$ 조성을 이용하여 $900^{\circ}C$ 이하의 저온소결이 가능한 두께방향진동모드 적층 압전변암기를 제작하여 그에 대한 전기적 특성을 조사하였다.
