피치가 수평 튜브 배열의 풀비등에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Pitch on Pool Boiling from Horizontal Tube Array)

  • 튜브 피치와 주변 튜브의 열유속이 수평으로 설치된 튜브 배열의 풀비등 열전달에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위하여 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 실험을 위하여 외경이 19 mm인 두 개의 스테인리스강 튜브와 대기압 상태인 물을 사용하였다. 튜브간 피치는 18.5~95 mm이며, 주변 튜브의 열유속은 $0{\sim}90kW/m^2$이다. 열전달 향상은 주변 튜브의 열유속이 크고 시편의 열유속이 $40kW/m^2$보다 낮은 경우에 분명하게 관찰되었다. 피치가 튜브 지름의 4배 보다 크면 피치 변화가 열전달에 미치는 영향은 무시할 수 있을 정도이다. 순환유동, 대류유동, 액체교란은 열전달을 향상시키며 유동간섭과 기포군집은 열전달을 둔화시킨다.

  • 수평에 가깝게 설치된 튜브 원주면에 대해 평균 열전달계수를 결정하기 위한 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 실험을 위하여 대기압 상태하의 물속에 잠긴 50.8 mm의 스테인리스강 튜브를 사용하였다. 과냉 및 포화 풀비등 조건을 모두 고려하였으며, 튜브 경사각은 수평으로부터 $9^{\circ}$까지 $3^{\circ}$ 간격으로 변경하였다. 포화상태에서는 튜브의 최하부로부터의 방위각이 $90^{\circ}$인 위치에서 측정한 국소비등열전달계수가 평균값으로 취급될 수 있으며, 이러한 경향은 튜브 경사각과는 무관함을 확인하였다. 그러나 물이 과냉상태인 경우, 평균 열전달계수의 위치는 경사각과 열유속에 의존한다. 열전달을 변화시키는 주된 열전달 기구는 액체교란 강도 및 기포군집에 의한 큰 기포 덩어리의 형성과 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 설명된다.

폴리(메틸 메타아크릴레이트) 입자 크기 및 분자량 제어에 따른 의치상 재료로서의 기계적 물성 변화 (Mechanical Properties of Denture Base Resin through Controlling of Particle Size and Molecular Weight of PMMA)

  • 의치상 레진 (틀니)의 기본 물질로 사용되는 폴리(메틸 메타아크릴레이트) (PMMA) 입자를 폴리(비닐 알코올) (PVAL)을 안정제로 사용하여 현탁중합법으로 중합하였고, PVAL 농도와 교반속도, 공단량체의 도입에 따른 PMMA의 입자 크기 변화 및 분자량의 변화를 관찰하였다. 또한 합성된 PMMA 수지와 메틸 메타아크릴레이트 단량체를 이용하여 고체/액체 비 (P/L ratio)를 2:1 로 하여 병상물을 제조하고, 일정한 가압성형 조건하에서 제작된 시편으로 수지의 입자 크기 및 분자량에 따른 PMMA에 기초한 틀니용 수지의 기계적 물성 변화를 관찰하였다. 그 결과 평균입자 크기가 100 $\mu$m 이하에서는 분자량이 커질수록 기계적 물성이 높게 나타났으며, 그 이상인 영역에서는 분자량에 상관없이 입자 크기가 증가할수록 기계적 물성의 저하 현상이 관찰되었다. 아울러 중합시 교반속도와 PVAL의 농도를 조절하여 크기와 분자량을 조절 가능하였는데, P/L 부피비가 2인 조건에서 제조된 열경화성 틀니용 수지로 이용되는 입자의 평균크기는 100 $\mu$m 정도가 적절하며, 분자량은 3.0${\times}$$10^{5}$ 전후가 적절함을 알 수 있었다.다.

상온에서의 용매 처리를 통한 저등급 석탄의 표면물성 및 자연발화 특성 변화 (Surface Characteristics and Spontaneous Combustibility of Coal Treated with Non-polar Solvent under Room Temperature)

  • 본 연구에서는 유기용매를 이용하여 표면처리한 저등급 석탄의 물성과 자연발화성 변화를 알아보았다. 석탄은 인도네시아 갈탄인 KBB탄과 SM탄 그리고 아역청탄인 Roto탄을 사용하였으며, 비극성 유기용매인 1-methyl naphthalene (1 MN)과 혼합한 후 단순 회전 임펠러 또는 초음파를 이용하여 일정 시간동안 교반하였다. 1MN 처리탄의 물성 변화는 공업 분석, 발열량 분석, FT-IR 분석, XPS 분석, 그리고 수분 재흡착 실험을 통해 알아보았으며, 자연 발화성 변화는 Crossing-Point Temperature 분석과, 산화에 의해 발생되는 CO, $CO_2$ 가스 분석을 통해 확인하였다. FT-IR 분석 결과 처리탄들의 수소와 산소를 포함한 결합기들이 줄었다. XPS분석 결과 원탄들에 비해 처리탄들의 C-O, C=O 그리고 COO- 피크는 감소하고 C-C 피크는 상대적으로 증가하였다. 그리고 수분 재흡착성 측정 결과 처리탄들 표면의 소수성이 증가함을 확인하였다. CPT 측정 결과 원탄들에 비해 처리탄들의 CPT 값이 $20^{\circ}C$ 이상 증가하였는데, 단순 기계적 교반보다 초음파 교반 방식으로 처리한 석탄의 CPT 값이 높았다. 이때 배출되는 가스의 분석에서도 처리탄들이 원탄들에 비해 CO와 $CO_2$ 가스 발생량이 적고 발생 시점이 늦어져 자연발화성이 억제되는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 석탄을 유기용매로 처리함으로써 미리 산화반응에 참여하는 표면의 기능기들이 제거되어 자연발화성이 억제되는 것이며, 이에 단순 기계적 교반 방식보다는 초음파 교반 방식이 보다 효과적임을 확인하였다.

폴리에스테르 직물의 발수발유 가공처리가 유성오구의 부착 및 제거에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Water-and Oil-Repellent Finishes on the Deposition and Removal of Oily Soils from Polyester Fabrics)

  • The effects of water-and oil-repellent finishes on the deposition and removal of oily soils from polyseter fabrics were investigated in this study. The polyester fabrics treated with three kinds of fluoropolymers(TG-410H, TG-990) were soiled with mixed oily soils and washed by using Terg-O-Tometer at various conditions. It was found that TG-410H and TG-527 treated polyester fabrics reduced significantly the deposition of oily soils than untreated and TG-990 treated polyester fabrics. The removal of oily soils from polyester fabrics was increased in porportion to increasing of surfactant concentration up to a certain point(0.2% owb) but it levelled off above the point. The removal effect was high in the order of TG-990 treated polyester fabrics > untreated polyester fabrics > TG-527 treated polyester fabrics > TBG-410H treasted polyester fabrics. Especially the removal of oily soils from polyester fabrics was more effectively removed in triton X-100 solution. In general the removal of oily soils from polyester fabrics treated with fluoropolymers was increased up to a miximum near 6$0^{\circ}C$ and than decreased above 6$0^{\circ}C$. And efficient removal could be achieved within relatively short time (30min) The removal of oily soils from polyester fabrics was increased in proportion to increasing of pH range up to a certain point(9.5 or 11.0) but it began to decrease above the point. Furthermore the removal of oily soils was increased with th increase of mechanical agitation, but it began to decrease above 160 rpm.

화장품용 유화 제조기술 최근동향 (Recent Emulsion Technology in Cosmetics)

  • Emulsions are mixture of immiscible liquids in which one is dispersed in all over the other. They have been applied to many applications including cosmetics, foods, drug delivery system (DDS), fine chemicals, and chemical separations. Especially, emulsion technology is one of the most useful technique to formulate cosmetics such as eye cream, foundation, and foam cleansing. In general, the emulsions can be generated by mechanical agitation of two immiscible fluids. However, the emulsions obtained by conventional method have limited in stability, monodispersity, and complicate process. We describe here preparation techniques of representative cosmetic emulsions such as liposome, liquid crystal emulsion, nanoemulsion, multiple emulsion, and pickering emulsion. Furthermore, various factors which can control the physical properties of each cosmetic emulsions are briefly discussed.

참깨 탈립 작업기계 개발에 관한 연구(III) - 최종기 제작 및 평가 - (Development of Shattering Machine for Sesame (III) - Fabrication and Evaluation of the Final Machine -)

  • The developed final shattering machine for labor-saving mechanization of shattering of sesame consisted of input part, shattering part, re-shattering part for unshattered pod and pneumatic sorter. The bundle of sesame was held as upside down and fed into the machine continuously. Then, the fed bundle of sesame was shattered by side shock and agitation. The performance of shattering for the sun dried bundle of sesame of conventional manual work and final shattering machine was compared. Since the shattering ratio measured by the final machine was 97.2% at the first operation, in case of fully dried sesame by drying stand, the harvest of sesame can be completed by only one time shattering operation. The work hour per area of 10 a for the mechanical work and the manual work were 0.3 hour and 13.9 hour, respectively. The total shattering ratio of the final machine with vertical feedings of bundle of sesames was 97.2%.

Characterization of Physiological Changes in $S3H5/\gamma{2bA2}$ Hybridoma Cells During Adaptation to Low Serum Media

  • Physiological changes of the murine hybridoma cell line $S3H5/\gamma{2bA2}$ during adaptation to RPMI 1640 medium with 1%(v/v) fetal bovine serum were characterized in terms of cell growth, antibody production, morphology, and metabolic quotients. Cells adapted to 1% serum medium in T-flasks became sensitive to shear induced by mechanical agitation and required at least 5% serum in the medium or spent medium for cell growth in spinner flasks, while cells adapted to 10% serum medium in T-flasks could grow in 1% serum medium in spinner flasks. Consequently, long-term adaptation to low serum media may not give the expected growth enhancement. After adaptation to 1% serum medium, changes in cell morphology were observed. The cells in 10% serum medium were uniform and circular, while cells in 1% medium were irregularly shaped. The DNA contents, which were measured by flow cytometry, were almost constant among the cells in the range of 1% to 10%. Further, no significant changes in energy metabolism and specific monoclonal antibody production rate were observed among these cells.

  • Fine anthracite is very difficult to upgrade by conventional processes such as gravity concentration or froth flotation, because large quantities of fine coals are generated at the mining and preparation stages and a significant portion of these fine coals are mixed with gangue minerals. This study, therefore, was carried out for the purpose of improving recovery of low ash clean coal, effective beneficiation of low-grade coking coal and removal of sulphur from high-sulphur coals by employing the method of selective agglomeration using oil or polystrene flocculants, for coals which are generally hydrophobic in nature will be extracted by using flocculants. Studies were performed by varying solid concentration, concetration of bridging liquid, mixing speed and mixing time, balling speed and balling time, dispersant dosage, flocculant dosage, pulp pH, and particle size. The results were : when the methods of the oil agglomeration and selective flocculation were employ(in the two process the sample was ground to the size of -74 micron), 1) ash content of the agglomerated coal was 9.85, 7.83%, 2) combustibel recovery of it was 98.5%, 93.5%, respectively. It was observed in selective flocculation that polystyrene is an effective flocculant for coal, De-entrapment of shale from the concentrate flocculated by mechanical agitation was necessary for substantional reductions in final ash content.

  • A semi-solid alloy in which solid and liquid phase are co-existing is obtained by stirring of A17075 molten metal. A semi-solid alloy is dependent on the corresponding temperature within the solid-liquid range, and the process parameters should be controlled accurately to obtain the homogeneous semisolid alloy. The fabrication possibility of fiber-reinforced aluminum alloy containing $Al_2O_3$ short fibers with vigorous agitation of short fibers were obtained by control of stirring time, solid fraction and impeller speed in extrusion billet fabrication processes. The microstructure to extrusion billet fabricated by low pressure casting was investigated for fiber dispersion state. The relationship between the extrustion force and velocity at hot extrustion, the flow strain and extrusion ratio were theoretically described. The surface defects with lubricants and without lubricant after hot extrusion were investigated. The composites materials after hot extrusion were measured by vickers hardness with extrusion ratio. It has become clear that the secondary working such as hot extrusion was very useful to obtained improved the mechanical properties of metal matrix composites.
