This study intended to test the structure of the latent factor of a subjective happiness scale and the stability of invariance across groups of students' classifications (gender and students' status). In the large, non-clinical sample (619), students completed the subjective happiness scale. The (CFA) confirmatory factor analysis was used to investigate the factor-structure of the measure, and multiple-group confirmatory factor analysis (MGCFA) model was used to test the stability of invariance across groups of students classifications. The findings of the CFA indicated support for the original one-factor model. Additional analyses of the MGCFA method support the measurement (configural, metric and strong) invariant and practical invariant components of this model. There was an invariant across gender. There was partially invariant across groups of students' statuses. The scale exists in both groups to assess the same concepts of (single and married), excluding Items 3 and 4. Given that this study is the first investigation for the structure of the subjective happiness scale.

This study intended to test the structure of the latent factor of an effectiveness scale and the stability of invariance across groups of students' classifications (gender and levels of education). In the large, non-clinical sample (850), students completed the effectiveness scale. The (CFA) confirmatory factor analysis was used to investigate the factor-structure of the measure, and multiple-group confirmatory factor analysis (MGCFA) model was used to test the stability of invariance across groups of students' classifications. The findings of the CFA indicated support for the original four-factor model. Additional analyses of the MGCFA method support the measurement (configural, metric and strong) invariant and practical invariant components of this model. There was an invariant across gender. There was partially invariant across groups of levels of education. The scale exists in groups of levels of education assess the same concepts of, excluding Items 15 and 10. Given that this study is the first investigation for the structure of the effectiveness scale.
After underground excavation being introduced in dometic, many technologies have been storing up. One of them, measurement, has been recognized as an important item under excavation construction. But, unlike a large-scale construction, it was not been treated importantly at the general small-scale structures with poor ordering and original design was unchanged under construction was normal if the problem didn't occur on monitoring. In this paper, the site which safe and economical management as well as shortening construction period was made effectively using measurement result was introduced. Also, the site which was completed safely with analyzing measurement and reinforcement when unusual symptom happened was introduced. Using measurement result effectively will be able to obtain the safety and prevent unnecessary economical loss.
This study pursues the problems of plan photogrammetry which is widely used in somatotyping at present, and find out a method which can improve accuracy of measurement on the basis of principles and mechanisms of photography-the basic foundation of the photographic analysis methods. As a result, this study proposes a new method which is based on the reference point method and perspective coordinate system. And the test measurement was operated to compare the measurement accuracy of the proposed method and the method based on reference grid screen method and perpendicular coordinate system which is commonly used at present. The result of this test measurement showed that the proposed method has higher accuracy. Two reasons can be pointed out for the improvement of measuring accuracy. The first reason is that the proposed perspective coordinate system reduces the perspective distortion of photography. And second reason is that measuring points can be closely placed to the scale and coordinate reference plan of measurement by the proposed reference point method which make possible to place measuring object (or person) at the center of scale and coordinate reference plan by utilizing reference points of measurement in the three dimensional space not on screen.
In the previous research, a study was carried out to estimate the actual performance such as the propeller Revolution Per Minute (RPM) and engine power of a Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier (LNGC) using the full-scale measurement data. After the predicted RPM and engine power were verified by comparing those with the measured values, the suggested method was regarded to be acceptable. However, there was a limitation to apply the method on the prediction of the RPM and engine power of a ship. Since the information of route, speed, and environmental conditions required for estimating the RPM and engine power is generally regarded as the intellectual property of a shipping company, it is difficult to secure the information on a shipyard. In this paper, the RPM and engine power of the 151K LNGC was estimated using the combination of Automatic Identification System (AIS) and European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) database in order to replace the full-scale measurement. The simulation approach, which was suggested in the previous research, was identically applied to the prediction of RPM and engine power. After the results based on the AIS and ECMWF database were compared with those obtained from the full-scale measurement data, the feasibility was briefly reviewed.
Purpose: This study was conducted in order to develop an instrument for the Korean Osteoarthritis Impact Measurement scale (KAIMS) in hip and knee osteoarthritis patients. Methods: A sample of 426 subjects was recruited in Ulsan metropolitan city (six hospitals and clinics) and Andong city (five hospitals and clinics) from June 2010 to May 2011. Item internal consistency and item discriminant validity were analyzed on the item-level, and floor (%) and ceiling (%) effect were analyzed on the scale-level. Exploratory factor analysis was performed for construction of items in the KAIMS instrument; confirmative factor analysis was also performed to test the fit of the model. Results: In 426 respondents, age was 64.3 years. The reliability for r coefficient 0.90 (mobility) and 0.89 (pain and stiffness) (Cronbach's alpha 0.95, 0.95 respectively) was high in the test-retest, and there was no significant difference in paired t-test (p>0.05). Item internal consistency (${\alpha}=0.92$, ${\alpha}=0.87$ respectively) was also high. It was constructed of two factors (mobility, pain and stiffness dimension) and nine items in explanatory factor analysis; results of confirmatory factor analysis also indicated that the dimensional structure model was fitted well in the test of model fit (${\chi}^2=83.83$, df=26, p=0.000; RMR=0.05; GFI=0.96; AGFI=0.83). Conclusion: In conclusion, the results of this study showed that the KAIMS that was developed was a reliable and valid instrument for measurement of osteoarthritis (OA) patients. We recommend further research for additional development of the instrument on OA in Korea.
Purpose: The aim on this study was to establish the validity, reliability and efficiency of a Pain Self-Report Scale for elderly with dementia and compare these results with an observational pain rating scale. Methods: Study subjects were 136 elderly with dementia who were residents in a nursing home, geriatric hospital, or day care center. The subject's pain was measured by five self-report scales and observational scale. DS-DAT (discomfort scale-dementia of the Alzheimer's type) was used for pain behavior observational measure. Cognitive state was assessed using the MMSE (Mini-Mental State Examination). Results: Observational rating correlated moderately with self-report (r=.225~.585, p<.05) and tended to underestimate pain intensity. Test-retest reliability was high for all five self-report scales, and the correlation between these scales was very strong (r=.735~.856, p<.05). Comprehension rate of VDS (verbal descriptor scale) was 88.3%, and NRS (numeric rating scale) 69.9%, FPS (face pain scale) 66.9%, HVAS (horizontal visual analog scale) and VVAS (vertical visual analog scale) 65.4%. Conclusion: Nurses should not apply observational scales routinely in demented patients as many of these are capable of reporting their own pain. Self-report, the highest standard of pain measurement can be reliably performed in a large proportion of demented elderly.
Objectives : The aim of this study is to introduce pain measurement tools that are considered suitable for clinical practice and research for Korean Medicine Doctors. Methods : We analysed some widely used and also useful pain measurement tools in terms of their methods and dimensions. Results : Diagrams, scales and questions are usually used to measure pain intensity, temporal pattern, treatment including exacerbating and/or relieving factors, pain location, pain interference, pain quality, pain affect, pain duration, pain beliefs and pain history. Specific pain measurements are also available for specific conditions such as Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index, Oswestry Disability Index and Neck Disability Index. Conclusions : Faces Pain Rating Scale, numeric rating scale, visual analogue scale, McGill Pain Questionnaire and Brief Pain Inventory and commonly used pain measurements. Specific measurements should be considered depending on research topics.
Purpose: This study was performed to determine the effects of foot reflexology on pain and quality of sleep in patients with terminal cancer. Method: Quai-experimental research design was used. The subjects of this study were consisted of 19 for experimental group and 18 for control group. Visualue Scale(VAS) was used as the measurement tool of pain in this study, Verra & Snyder-Halpern Sleep Scale(VSH) and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) were used as the measurement tool of perceived quality of sleep. Data were analyzed using statistical methods such as frequency, percent, $x^2$-test, t-test using SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Results: The hypothesis 1 that the experimental group with reflexology has less degree of pain than the control group without reflexology was supported (t=5.41, p<.001). The hypothesis 2 that the experimental group with reflexology has higher degree of VSH Scale than the control group without reflexology was supported(t=2.37, p=.02). The hypothesis 3 that the experimental group with reflexology has the difference among the mean of sleep VAS Scale during the 12 measurement periods was not supported(F=1.63, p=.08), and no significant interactions between group and time. Conclusion: It is considered that reflexology is effective for reducing cancer pain and improving quality of sleep in patients with terminal cancer.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a nursing organization culture measurement tool and to test the validity and reliability of the tool. Method: This study conducted in three phases. In phase 1, theoretical framework choice, Phase 2, measurement items selection, Phase 3, testing of validity and reliability. In order to test validity and reliability of the measurement, data were collected from 915 nurses, working in the 22 hospitals with more 500 beds. The data obtatined were analyzed by SPSS-Win 10.0 program using percentages, Factor Analysis, Cronbach's alpha Coefficients. Result: As a result of the study, nursing organization culture measurement scale was consisted of 20 items, 4 factors. 4 factor explained 60.54% of the total variance, and the Cronbach's alpha of this scale was .8829. Conclusions: The Study supports the validity and reliability of the scales. Therefore, this scale can be effectively utilized for the evaluation of nursing organization culture in hospital setting.
