In order to measure object larger than the optical field-of-view most video measurement systems utilize some sort of precision staging mechanism, and to utilize such a staging systems, Auto-Measurement System implemented in this paper has a precision of its own which affect the overall repeatability of the measuring instrument.

Modification of the phase gradient formulation is proposed in order to make phase retrieval less susceptible to noise. The modified formulation is derived from separation of the phase terms and the intensity modulation terms of interferograms, and subsequent differentiation to reduce the noise-induced error of the phase gradient vector. Its performance is evaluated and compared to that of the conventional formulation, and noise-robust nature is confirmed.

This paper described about the ultra-precision profile measurement of aspheric surfaces using contact probing technique. A contact probe has been designed as a sensing device to obtain measuring resolutions in nanometer regime utilizing a circle leaf spring mechanism and a capacitive-type sensor. The, contact probe is attached on the z-axis during measurement while aspheric object are supported on the diamond turning machine(DTM). The machine xz-axis motions are monitored by a set of two orthogonal plane mirror type laser interferometers. Experimental results show that the contact probing technique developed of on-machine measurement system in this investigation is capable of providing a repeatability of 10 nanometers with a $\pm$20 uncertainty of 200nmPv.

In this paper, we designed a line CCD camera for a flying image, which is composed of a line CCD sensor(2048 cells) and a rotating mirror, and investigated its optical properties. We also made the 3-D image from the flying image which is made of 2-D image being juxtaposed to 1-D images obtained by the camera, and performed the calibration to acquire high precision 3-D data. As a result, we obtained the 3-D measurement system using the slit type of laser projector is available to measure the high precision shape of objects.

Recently, the rheology on the fluidity of materials has been progressed remarkably. Viscosity measurement for precision-accuracy has needed very important to measure the rheological properties of materials in the field of chemistry-fiber, paint, printing-ink, plastics, rubber, foodstuff-industry, etc. And many methods of measurement have been developed lately. So in this experimental study, small capacity torque transducer with type of strain gage, different method against other existing viscometers, measured viscosity about a liquid that has flowing characteristics of newtonian liquid. Using the assumed computational equation of viscosity, it has same value of viscosity in each different radius of rotating cylinder. In the result, this equipment will be used in the viscosity measurement of a liquid taking flowing characteristics of newtonian liquid.
