炭素아-크 (arc)에 依한 Sol의 生成 (Preparation of Sols by Carbon-arc)

  • On sparking carbon-arc in water we found that a inflammable gas was generated. The object of this experiment is to prepare sols of metals by applying the gas mentioned to a solution of metallic salts. As the result of this experiment we found that : 1) By this method we can prepare easily some kinds of Ag-sol from $AgNO_3$ solution in about 30 sec. by adjusting the temperature, the quantity of stabilizer and the concentration of metallic salt. 2) The appropriate concentration of $AgNO_3$ is about 0.01% by volume, that of the stabilizer, 0.9104 N-NaOH is 0.03-2 cc/100 cc of 0.01% $AgNO_3$ solution. And the lower the temperature, the more concentrated the Ag-sol. But to check the possibility of applying this method to metals other than Au and Ag, measurement of the particle size and properties of a sol prepared by this method, should be studied. Especially, we must study what kinds of gases are generated by sparking the carbon-arc in water.

ATH의 입자크기 및 첨가량에 따른 실리콘 고무의 전기적 특성 (Electrical Properties of Silicone Rubber with Different Particle Size and Amount of ATH)

  • Silicone rubber has very excellent chemical stability and hydrophobicity. A hydrophobic surface can prevent the formation of continuous water films on the surface in wet and heavily contaminated conditions. This phenomenon contributes to the suppression of leakage current and partial discharges on insulator surfaces. Silicone rubber has been used much for housing materials of polymer insulators. ATH is added to the silicone rubber for improvement of its resistance against surface discharge. In this paper, ATH with different particle size and content was added to the silicone rubber during compounding. Silicone rubber was deteriorated by a corona treatment. Hydrophobicity recovery rate after corona treatment and arc resistance of silicone rubber were investigated. Hydrophobicity recovery rate of silicone rubber was evaluated by the measurement of contact angle. Arc resistance was evaluated by measuring weight loss of silicone rubber after arc resistance test. It was observed that the hydrophobicity recovery rate and arc resistance of silicone rubber were different when different particle size and content of ATH were added.

  • This study is to develop a system of electric power generation utilizing the wind resources available in the domestic wind environment. We tested drag-type vortical wind turbine models, which have two different types of blades: a flat plate and circular arc shape. Through a performance test, conditions of maximum rotational speed were found by measuring the rpm of wind turbine. The rotational speed was measured by a tachometer in a wind tunnel and the tunnel wind speed was by using a pilot-static tube and a micro manometer. The performance test for a prototype was accomplished by calculating power, power coefficient, torque coefficient from the measurement of torque and rpm by a dynamometer controller From the measurements for miniature turbine models with two different blades, the circular arc shape was found to Produce a maximum rotational speed for the same wind velocity condition. Based on this result, the prototype with the circular arc blade was made and tested. We found that it produces 500W at the wind velocity of 10.8 m/s and the power coefficient was 20%.

  • This paper presents a new two-terminal numerical algorithm for fault location estimation and for faults recognition using the synchronized phaser in time-domain. The proposed algorithm is also based on the synchronized voltage and current phasor measured from the assumed PMUs(Phasor Measurement Units) installed at both ends of the transmission lines. Also the arc voltage wave shape is modeled numerically on the basis of a great number of arc voltage records obtained by transient recorder. From the calculated arc voltage amplitude it can make a decision whether the fault is permanent or transient. In this paper the algorithm is given and estimated using DFT(discrete Fourier Transform) and the LES(Least Error Squares Method). The algorithm uses a very short data window and enables fast fault detection and classification for real-time transmission line protection. To test the validity of the proposed algorithm, the Electro-Magnetic Transient Program(EMTP/ATP) is used.

  • 열적 특성은 에너지 물질 분야에서 중요한 특성 중 하나로, 분해열을 방출하기 때문에, 열적 특성 분석에 DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimetry)가 자주 사용된다. 그러나 DSC 측정의 경우, 용융과 같은 열역학적 변화가 kinetics 분석에 방해를 끼친다. 이번 연구에서는 이 문제점을 해결하는 방안으로, 등온 조건으로 한 DSC 기초 데이터와 g 단위로 측정하는 ARC(Accelerating Rate Calorimetry)의 데이터를 이용하여 AKTS(Advanced Kinetics and Technology Solutions) thermokinetic 프로그램을 이용하여 열적 노화 특성을 예측, 비교한다.

Observational Arc-Length Effect on Orbit Determination for KPLO Using a Sequential Estimation Technique

  • In this study, orbit determination (OD) simulation for the Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) was accomplished for investigation of the observational arc-length effect using a sequential estimation algorithm. A lunar polar orbit located at 100 km altitude and $90^{\circ}$ inclination was mainly considered for the KPLO mission operation phase. For measurement simulation and OD for KPLO, the Analytical Graphics Inc. Systems Tool Kit 11 and Orbit Determination Tool Kit 6 software were utilized. Three deep-space ground stations, including two deep space network (DSN) antennas and the Korea Deep Space Antenna, were configured for the OD simulation. To investigate the arc-length effect on OD, 60-hr, 48-hr, 24-hr, and 12-hr tracking data were prepared. Position uncertainty by error covariance and orbit overlap precision were used for OD performance evaluation. Additionally, orbit prediction (OP) accuracy was also assessed by the position difference between the estimated and true orbits. Finally, we concluded that the 48-hr-based OD strategy is suitable for effective flight dynamics operation of KPLO. This work suggests a useful guideline for the OD strategy of KPLO mission planning and operation during the nominal lunar orbits phase.

3-D vision sensor for arc welding industrial robot system with coordinated motion

  • In order to obtain desired arc welding performance, we already developed an arc welding robot system that enabled coordinated motions of dual arm robots. In this system one robot arm holds a welding target as a positioning device, and the other robot moves the welding torch. Concerning to such a dual arm robot system, the positioning accuracy of robots is one important problem, since nowadays conventional industrial robots unfortunately don't have enough absolute accuracy in position. In order to cope with this problem, our robot system employed teaching playback method, where absolute error are compensated by the operator's visual feedback. Due to this system, an ideal arc welding considering the posture of the welding target and the directions of the gravity has become possible. Another problem still remains, while we developed an original teaching method of the dual arm robots with coordinated motions. The problem is that manual teaching tasks are still tedious since they need fine movements with intensive attentions. Therefore, we developed a 3-dimensional vision guided robot control method for our welding robot system with coordinated motions. In this paper we show our 3-dimensional vision sensor to guide our arc welding robot system with coordinated motions. A sensing device is compactly designed and is mounted on the tip of the arc welding robot. The sensor detects the 3-dimensional shape of groove on the target work which needs to be weld. And the welding robot is controlled to trace the grooves with accuracy. The principle of the 3-dimensional measurement is depend on the slit-ray projection method. In order to realize a slit-ray projection method, two laser slit-ray projectors and one CCD TV camera are compactly mounted. Tactful image processing enabled 3-dimensional data processing without suffering from disturbance lights. The 3-dimensional information of the target groove is combined with the rough teaching data they are given by the operator in advance. Therefore, the teaching tasks are simplified

  • Measurement and control system of weld pool is comprised of optical devices, image processor, personal computer and welding machine. Combinations of ND and Infrared filters were used to block the intense arc light and to get the clearer image of weld pool. Smoothing operation and conversion to binary data were performed to eliminate the noises and to decrease the processing time. A simple algorithm for feedback control was developed and weld pool size is controlled by welding current which is adjusted automatically with personal computer.

NIALM 기반의 스마트 홈 안전관리시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Smart Home Safety Management System Based on NIALM)

  • 기존의 전기 에너지 및 관리에 필요한 정보를 취득하기 위해 적용하였던 계측방식은 공간적인 문제와 시스템의 크기로 인해 신규 건축물 또는 교체가 가능한 지역에만 한정되었었다. 이러한 전기 부하관리 방법은 취약지구나 기존 기 구축되어 있는 가정 또는 사무실의 에너지 및 안전관리에 적용하기에 문제가 있다. 즉, 모든 분기마다 계측 모듈을 설치하는 문제로 인해, 그 시스템의 크기가 너무 크고, 계측모듈을 설치하더라도 부하의 종류를 인식하지 못해 효율적 관리가 이루어지지 않으며 많은 비용이 발생하고 있어서 보급에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 특히, 한국의 전통 재래시장 및 낙후된 시설 등에는 적용하기 매우 어려운 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해 NIALM 기술과 아크 감지기술을 적용하여, 정상적인 아크발생에 대한 NIALM의 적용가능성을 검증하고자 한다. 또한, 검증 결과를 기반으로 재래시장 및 기존 가정내 안전관리장치에 적용할 수 있는 효율적인 전기안전관리가 가능한 새로운 개념의 스마트 홈 안전관리 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 기존에 적용된 안전관리시스템과의 비교 성능 시험을 진행하였고, 기존 시스템 대비 40%의 공간내에서 기존 시스템에서는 불가능하였던 4가지 부하에 대한 부하인식을 95%이상 달성하였고, 또한 기존 시스템과 같은 아크 감지기능을 확인하였다.
