Orifice meters and turbine meters are frequently used for measuring gas flow in gas industry. However, to insure the accuracy of the measurement, a certain length of the meter run at the upstream of the flow meter is required. The objective of this study is to analyze flow measurement errors of the orifice meter quantitatively for shorter lengths of the meter runs than those suggested in the standard manuals with variation of diameter ratio( $\beta$ ratio) and flow rate and also to analyze flow measurement errors of the turbine meter with and without straightener. The test results showed that the flow measurement errors of the orifice meter were inversely proportional to the diameter ratio. In other words, when the diameter ratio is 0.3 and 0.7, the measurement error is $-7.3\%$ and $-3.5\%$, respectively. the main reason of the measurement error is due to the swirl effect from the configuration of the meter run at the upstream of the flow meter. In case the length of the meter run is shorter than that suggested In the standard, the swirl effect is not removed completely and it affects the flow meter's performance. As mentioned above, the less the pipe diameter ratio, the mon the flow measurement error. It means that the swirl effect on the orifice meter increases as the $\beta$ ratio decreases.
This research introduces the Financial Effect Measurement (FEM) models which measures both the improvement and the innovation performance of Quality Control Circle (QCC) and activities of Six Sigma. Concepts and principle of Comprehensive Income Statement (CIS), Balanced Scorecard (BSC), Time-Driven Activity Based-Costing (TDABC) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) are applied in order to develop the 4 FEM models presented in this paper. First of all, FEM using CIS depicts the improvement effects of production capacity and yield using relationships between demand and supply, and line balancing efficiency between bottleneck process and non-bottleneck processes. Secondly, cause-and-effect relation of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) is used to present Critical Success Factor (CSF) effects for QC Story 15 steps of QCC and DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) of Six Sigma. The next is FEM model for service management innovation activities that uses TDABC to calculate the time-driven effect for improving the indirect activities according to the cost object. Lastly, FEM model for TPM activities presents the interpretation of improvement effect model of TPM Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Operating Expenditure (OPEX) maintenance using profit, cash and Economic Added Value (EVA) as metrics of enterprise values. To better understand and further investigate FEMs, recent cases on National Quality Circle Contest are used to evaluate new financial effect measurement developed in this paper.
In this study, we measured body mass index, visceral fat ratio and 6 parts of body, neck circumference, circumference of upper arm, chest circumference, abdomen circumference, hip circumference, and thigh circumference by bioimpedence analysis system, after taking Gyeongshingangjeehwan16 (GGEx16) in five months except the first period before taking GGEx16 on 49 women who are obesity or high-level obesity. In order to examine the significance test for the effect of obesity improvement of GGEx16, we practices repeated measure ANOVA with values of measurement variables in 6 monthly times. As a result of all measurement variables, there were significant difference (P-value=0.001). Therefore, we can say that GGEx16 is effective about obesity improvement. As it dramatically decreased between second measure period and first measure period for all measure variables, we can see that there were the most effect of GGEx16 in the first time after taking GGEx16. It is known that a important measurement variable to have a effect for obesity improvement about two variable which are body mass index and visceral fat ratio is waist circumference through correlation analysis. The result of whether there are differences to effect of obesity improvement for GGEx16 around the climacteric, there were significant difference for the effect of obesity improvement for GGEx16 around the climacteric about all parts of body (P-value=0.001). There were also powerfully difference in effect of obesity improvement for GGEx16 around the climacteric about all parts of body (P-value=0.001). Especially, the climacteric before is more effective than the climacteric after in the aspect of the effect of GGEx16.

In this paper, we studied a vibration problem that is critical and common to most precision measurement systems. For micro mechanical part measurements, results obtained from the vision-based precision measurement system may contain errors due to the vibration. In order to defeat this generic problem, for the current study, a PC based image processing technique was used first, to assess the effect of the vibration to the precision measurement and second, to develop an in-situ calibration algorithm that automatically compensate the measurement results in real time. We used a set of stereoscopic CCD cameras to acquire the images for the dimensional measurement and the reference measurement. The mapping function was obtained through the in-situ calibration to compensate the measurement results and the statistical analysis for the actual results is provided in the paper. Based on the current statistical study, it is expected to obtain high precision results for the micro measurement systems.

In this study, effect of the sensor gain error is theoretically analyzed and simulated when mixed sequential two-prove method(MTPM) is applied for the precision measurement of straightness error of a linear motion table. According to the theoretical analysis, difference of the gain errors between two displacement sensors increases measurement error dramatically and alignment error of the straightedge is also amplified by the sensor gain difference. On the other hand, if the gain errors of the two sensors are identical, most of error terms are cancelled out and the alignment error doesn't give any influence on the measurement error. Also the measurement error of the straightness error is minimized compared with that of the straightedge's form error owing to close relationship between straightness error and angular motion error of the table in the error terms.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the number of measurement points on the calculation of transverse relaxation time (T2) with a focus on muscle T2. Materials and Methods: This study assumed that muscle T2 was comprised of a single component. Two phantom types were measured, 1 each for long ("phantom") and short T2 ("polyvinyl alcohol gel"). Right calf muscle T2 measurements were conducted in 9 healthy male volunteers using multiple-spin-echo magnetic resonance imaging. For phantoms and muscle (medial gastrocnemius), 5 regions of interests were selected. All region of interest values were expressed as the mean ${\pm}$ standard deviation. The T2 effective signal-ratio characteristics were used as an index to evaluate the magnetic resonance image quality for the calculation of T2 from T2-weighted images. The T2 accuracy was evaluated to determine the T2 reproducibility and the goodness-of-fit from the probability Q. Results: For the phantom and polyvinyl alcohol gel, the standard deviation of the magnetic resonance image signal at each echo time was narrow and mono-exponential, which caused large variations in the muscle T2 decay curves. The T2 effective signal-ratio change varied with T2, with the greatest decreases apparent for a short T2. There were no significant differences in T2 reproducibility when > 3 measurement points were used. There were no significant differences in goodness-of-fit when > 6 measurement points were used. Although the measurement point evaluations were stable when > 3 measurement points were used, calculation of T2 using 4 measurement points had the highest accuracy according to the goodness-of-fit. Even if the number of measurement points was increased, there was little improvement in the probability Q. Conclusion: Four measurement points gave excellent reproducibility and goodness-of-fit when muscle T2 was considered mono-exponential.

This study is aimed to evaluate a tunneling effect in the laboratory measurement of sound transmission loss. Based on the formulation for sound transmission loss of a finite panel in the presence of tunnel, variations of the sound transmission loss with the parameters of panel location and tunnel depth are investigated. In comparison with the transmission loss of a finite plate in an infinite rigid baffle, the maximum difference occurs in the laboratory measurement when the panel is placed at the center of the tunnel, while a better estimation of true transmission loss is obtained when the panel is located at either end.

Compression coding based on block coding has been applied in image and video compression standard. But there is no block effect measurement due to block based image coding. In this paper, we propose a objective block effects measurement to reconstructed image using subblock DCT coding. Experimental results show that the block effects measures given by the suggested method agree well with the subjective ranking. This new objective measurement is simple and effective in measuring the block effect in the reconstructed image.

This paper descries the effect of the stylus tip size on the measuring error in surface topography measurement. To analyze the distortional effect of an actual surface geometry originating from the finite stylus size, the surface is modeled as a sinusoid and the stylus tip as a circle. the measuring error is defined as the ratio of the standard deviation of a tracing profile and an original profile. It is shown that this measuring error depends on the amplitude and wavelength of an original profile. In this paper, the spectrum analysis is applied to investigate the distortional effect due to the mechanical filtering of the stylus in the frequency domain. and, the cumulative power spectrum is applied to determinate the minimum wavelength limits to be measured with the various stylus tip radius from these results, a new method to select proper stylus tip radius is proposed.
Thermal mass flow meter (TMF) is used measuring the small mass flow rate of gases. Generally, flow rate measuring accuracy of TMF is $\pm2{\%}$ of full scale. TMF is manufactured for specified working pressure and specified working gas by customer. If it were applied for different working pressure and gases, flow rate measurement accuracy decreased dramatically. In this study, a TMF tested with three different gases and pressure range of 0.2 MPa to 1.0 MPa. Effect of specific heat cause to increase flow measurement error as much as ratio of specific heat compare with reference gas. Pressure change cause to increase flowrate measurement deviation about $-0.2{\%}$ as the working pressure decreased 0.1 MPa.
