The displacemant current measuring system used for detecting the dynamic behavior of monolayers at the air-water interface is described. It basically consists of a film balance, a pair of electrodes connected to each other through a sensitive ammeter. Here, one electrode is suspended in air and the other electrode is placed in the water. With Maxwell-displacement-current-measuring method, the phase transitions of Poly-${\gamma}$ -benzyl D-glutamate(PBDG) on a water surface were detected. Measured surface pressure, displacement current and dipole moment of monolayers of PBDG on the water surface. We measured analyzed displacement current that occur when differed temperature. Could know that displacement current is proportional in increase of temperature and great as experiment result.
In view of the importance of the wind-structure interaction for tall and slender structures, an aeroelastic model test of the 610m-high TV tower with a complex and unique structural configuration and appearance carried out successfully. The assembled aeroelastic model of the TV tower with complex shape and structure was designed and made to ensure the similarities of the major natural frequencies and the corresponding mode shapes. The simulation of the atmospheric boundary layer with higher turbulent intensity is presented. Since the displacement and acceleration responses at several measurement sections were directly measured in the wind tunnel test, a multi-mode approach was presented to indirectly estimate the displacement and acceleration responses at arbitrary structural floors based on the measured ones. It can be seen that it is remarkable for the displacement and acceleration responses of the TV tower in the two horizontal directions under wind loads and is small for the dynamic response of the torsional displacement and acceleration.

In this paper, generation form of displacement current was compared and measured with air-water interfacing induce monolayers which 8A5H with azobenzene and arac.acid mixed. Light response of two monolayers which chain length are different was compared and measured though they are the same isomer. The experimental results are as following; In the displacement current form of mixed monolayers and 8A5H, mixed monolayers which chain length is longer than that of 8A5H caused the displacement current about 40[fA] mole. This is the reason chain length of hydrophobicity in mixed monolayers is longer than that of 8A5H In the case of light stimulus mixed monolayers reacted less than 8A5H about 9[fA]. This is the reason molecule dynamic behaviour in cia and trans was net activated due to its very long chain length.

In this study, displacement values according to variation of laminated layer in piezoelectric body were measured. Samples were $40{\times}12[mm^2]$ and number of printed layer were varied from 3, 5, 7, 9, up to 11. Effect of printed layer variation on displacement properties of multilayer piezoelectric actuator was investigated. Also displacement values were estimated using Atila simulation tool. Difference in measured values and simulation results were compared.

This paper describes the comparative results of measured and predicted values for the horizontal displacement of earth retaining wall based on two field cases, in order to evaluate the application of lateral earth pressure to earth retaining wall supported by earth anchor in Jeju. The prediction of lateral earth pressure acting on the earth retaining wall was performed by elasto-plastic analysis using Rankine earth pressure, Hong & Yun lateral earth pressure, Terzaghi & Peck modified lateral earth pressure, and Tschebotarioff lateral earth pressure. As a result, the predicted value of the maximum horizontal displacement for site A was about 10 to 12 times greater than the measured value, and in the case of site B, the predicted value was evaluated as about 9 to 12 times greater than the measured value. That is, both sites showed a similar increase rate in the maximum horizontal displacement by the predicted value compared to the measured value. In all field construction cases, the maximum horizontal displacement by measured values occurred in the sedimentary layer, soft rock layer, and clinker layer, and the horizontal displacement distribution was shown in a trapezoidal shape. The maximum horizontal displacement by the predicted value occurred around the clinker layer, and the horizontal displacement distribution was elliptical. In the ground with a clinker layer, the measured value showed a very different horizontal displacement tendency from the predicted value, because the clinker layer exists in the form of a rock layer and continuous layer. In other words, it is unreasonable to apply the existing prediction method, which is overestimated, because the characteristics of the earth pressure distribution in Jeju show a tendency to be quite different from the predicted earth pressure distribution. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a research on the lateral earth pressure in the realistic Jeju that can secure more economic efficiency.

In this study, an application method of critical strains concept for tunnels' safety by using the values of measured displacements which are obtained in the field is discussed. The aim is to: (1) study on the engineering meanings of critical strains concept by reviewing the previous researches and application examples with measured displacement values; (2) study on the engineering reasonability of critical strains concept with the view point of a tunnel engineering and a geotechnical engineering; (3) study on the features of ground deformation due to tunneling and reciprocal relation between total displacement and measured displacement; (4) evaluate a tunnel safety by using domestic measurements collected in the field; and (5) re-evaluate the control criteria which were previously used in the field, with the view point of critical strains concept. Consequently, it was confirmed that critical strains in the ground has a reasonability and a possibility of unified or common concept with the view point of a tunnel engineering.
Displacement of tunnel face is important issues for the evaluation of tunnel safety. In this study, conventional convergence and displacement data measured from horizontal inclinometer were analyzed to investigate the trend and characteristics of tunnel deformation during construction. Trend of measured displacement agreed with general understanding of tunnel deformation prior to excavation. It shows that displacement measured from horizontal inclinometer can be used to preestimate the total deformation of tunnel.

For the purpose of applying to micro-actuator, thermal properties and displacement of electrostrictive polyurethane(PU) elastomers have been measured. In order to understand an effect of PU component, crosslinking agent are controlled by 0.5 wt% and 1 wt%. DMPA and anther chain extenders were used. PU sample that chain extenders are DMPA is added NaOH for comprehension of effect of ionic groups. The deposited electrode sire on PU films is equal to acrylic holder size when the displacement was measured. Dynamic response according to frequency, displacement and recovery time according to PU thickness were measured. 1 wt% crosslinking agent contents PU samples have higher displacement and lower recovery time than 0.5 wt% crosslinking agent contents PU. If the PU thickness is increased, the actuating voltage for generating of same displacement is increased, too.
A sensor system was developed to measure displacement of civil structure at a long distance. A He-Ne Laser tube and photodiodes ware used for non-contact measurement. This system allows real time vibration displacement measurement of bridges. The measured displacement data is displayed on computer monitor graphically and also in digit. The accuracy of the displacement measurement shows 2mm in vertical vibration. It shows remote inspection of the vibration of long bridges and buildings.
The purpose of this study was to investigate how COP displacement of a hemiplegic foot in stance phase during gait is related to clinical balance measures and the recovery stage in hemiplegic stroke patients. Twenty-eight functionally ambulant hemiplegic patients who had suffered from strokes and thirty age-matched healthy subjects participated in this study. COP parameters were calculated. Clinical balance was measured using the Functional Reach Test (FRT) and Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT). The recovery stage, proprioception, and clonus of the ankles or lower extremities were also measured for physical impairment status. The COPx max-displacement in the medial-lateral side of the stroke patients was significantly longer than that of the normal group (p=.038). The COPy max-displacement in the anterior-posterior side of the stroke patients was significantly shorter than that of normal group (p<.001). Significant differences in the COPx and COPy displacement asymmetry index were found between the two groups (p<.01). The FRT was correlated with the COPx displacement (r=.552) and COPy displacement (r=.765). The TUGT was correlated with the COPy displacement (r=-.588) only. The recovery stage of the lower extremities was correlated with COPy displacement (r=.438). The results of the study indicate that the characteristic of COP displacement in hemiplegic feet in stance phase during gait is related to balance ability and recovery in stroke patients. COP parameters acquired by the mapping of foot pressure in stance phase during gait will provide additional useful clinical information. This information can be used by clinicians to assess objectively the pathologic gait with other diseases and to evaluate the therapeutic effects on gait in stroke patients.
