타코펄스 불균일성 보정이 포함된 펄스간 시간 측정방법 (Elapsed-time Method With Tacho Pulse Non-uniformity Correction)

  • 펄스간 시간측정방법은 이상적인 조건에서는 정확한 반작용휠 속도를 측정할 수 있지만, 실제로는 타코펄스 불균일성 때문에 측정속도 오차가 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 불균일성을 극복하는 방법을 살펴본다. 우선 휠을 특정한 속도로 회전시켜서 타코펄스 불균일성을 측정하는 방법을 소개한다. 이렇게 획득된 불균일성 정보를 이용하여 실시간으로 측정오차를 보정하는 방법을 제안한다. 해당 방법은 펄스간 시간 측정방법의 카운트와 사전 측정된 불균일 정보로부터 속도 후보군을 계산하고, 이중에서 실제속도와 가장 가까운 값을 선택한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해서 제안된 방법이 타코펄스 불균일성을 극복하고 정확한 속도를 측정하며 빠른 휠속도 제어도 가능함을 보인다.

  • Recently China has carried out a successful anti-satellite missile test at more than 850km altitude January 11 destroying an aging Chinese weather satellite target with a kinetic kill vehicle launched on board a ballistic missile. Korea has developed scientific and commercial satellites and sounding rockets from 1990s. As the fear of the militarisation of space becomes the reality, we need to consider the safety of our space assets from the perspectives of design, operation, and policy. In this paper we study on the general meanings and impacts of Chinese anti-satellite missile test and the measure to protect our space assets from the points of the design, operation and policy.

  • 'Fantasy' in this study is Not something fantastic in the used to be-way we can Imagine easily. This study is to figure out 'fantasy' and 'the fantastic' as a significant measure to interpret the contemporary space-time. In particular, it analyzed that fantasy have influenced on some kind of specific trend what is expressed a tendency to contemporary interior designs of informal, indeterminacy and unpredictability. Fantasy is represented as 'the fantastic space' through spatial revealing, concealing, distorting, and connoting. Representation becomes a major issue in almost many kinds of knowledge-system that start from the mind to go out to the world in a realistic or idealistic way. Therefore, the fantastic space reconstructs the reality while making itself through to representational creation-process. It is Important for fantasy and the fantastic space to help detect behind beneath the reality more than what we know.

Patch-type large strain sensor using elastomeric composite filled with carbon nanofibers

  • Carbon nanofibers (CNFs) are electrically conductive. When CNFs are used as fillers in resin, this electrical conductivity can be yielded without adversely affecting the mechanical properties of the resin. When an elastomer is adopted as the resin, a conductive elastomer can then be produced. Due to its flexibility and conductive properties, a large strain sensor based on changes in resistivity may be produced, for strain sensing in flexible structures. In this study, a patch-type large strain sensor using resistivity change in a CNF/elastomer composite was proposed. The measurement limits of the sensor were investigated experimentally, and the limit was found to be 40%, which greatly exceeded the limits of conventional metal-foiled strain gages. Also, the proposed CNF/elastomer large strain sensor can be used to measure flexible materials, while conventional strain gages cannot be used to measure such strains.

  • Usually, the skin pigmentation detection and diagnosis are made by clinicians. In this process it is subjective and non-quantitative. We develop an approach to detect and measure the different pigmentation lesions base on computer vision technology. In the paper we study several usually used skin-detecting color space like HSV, YCbCr and normalized RGB. We compare their performance with illumination influence for detecting the pigmentation lesions better. Base on a relatively stable color space, we propose an approach which is RGB channels vector difference characteristic for the detection. After the object region detection, we also use the difference to measure the difference between the lesion and the surrounding normal skin. From the experiment results, our approach can effectively detect the pigmentation lesion, and perform robustness with different illumination.

  • We present an efficient and robust measurement model for visual tracking. This approach builds on and extends work on subspace representations of measurement model. Subspace-based tracking algorithms have been introduced to visual tracking literature for a decade and show considerable tracking performance due to its robustness in matching. However the measures used in their measurement models are often restricted to few approaches. We propose a novel measure of object matching using Angle In Feature Space, which aims to improve the discriminability of matching in subspace. Therefore, our tracking algorithm can distinguish target from similar background clutters which often cause erroneous drift by conventional Distance From Feature Space measure. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed tracking algorithm under severe cluttered background.

  • An approach to time-varying obstacle avoidance problem is pursued. The mathematical formulation of the problem is given in Cartesian space and in joint space. To deal with the time-varying obstacles, view-time is introduced. A view-time is the time interval viewing the time-varying obstacles to model equivalent stationary obstacles. For the analysis of the properties of the view-time, avoidability measure is defined as a measure of easiness for a robot to avoid obstacles. Based on the properties, a motion planning strategy to avoid time-varying obstacles is derived. An application of the strategy to the collision-free motion planning of two SCARA robots and the simulation on the application are given.

  • In possibility framework, we propose two risk measures named Fuzzy Value-at-Risk and Fuzzy Conditional Value-at-Risk, based on Credibility measure. Two portfolio optimization models for fuzzy portfolio selection problems are formulated. Then a chaos genetic algorithm based on fuzzy simulation is designed, and finally computational results show that the two risk measures can play a role in possibility space similar to Value-at-Risk and Conditional Value-at-Risk in probability space.

  • A commutative hypercomplex system $L_1$(Q,m) is, roughly speaking, a space which is defined by a structure measure (c(A,B, r), (A,$B{\in}{\beta}$(Q)). Such space has bee studied by Berezanskii and Krein. Our main purpose is to establish a generalization of convolution semigroups and to discuss the role of the L$\'{e}$vy measure in the L$\'{e}$vy-Khinchin representation in terms of continuous negative definite functions on the dual hypercomplex system.

Fatigue damage detection of CFRP using the electrical resistance change method

  • Electrical resistance change measurements were performed, to detect fatigue damage of a quasi-isotropic CFRP and cross-ply CFRP laminates. A four-probe method was used to measure the exact electrical resistance change. A three-probe method was used to measure the electrical contact resistance change, during long cyclic loading. The specimen side surface was observed using a video-microscope to detect damage. The measured electrical resistance changes were compared with the observed damage. The results of this study show that the electrical resistance increase of the quasi-isotropic laminate was caused by a delamination crack between ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ plies. Matrix cracking caused a small electrical resistance increase of the cross-ply laminate, but the decreased electrical resistance caused by the shear-plastic deformation impedes matrix-cracking detection.
