The purpose of this research is to analyze content elements of Housing area in 2013 middle school Technology Home Economics textbooks 1 and 2, total of 22 according to 2009 revised curriculum. The analysis method was content analysis, focusing on contents of main text, tables & figures, reading material, and activity materials by their content elements. This research will contribute in obtaining suggestion for the post curriculum/textbook development and helping teachers to perform a lesson. The results are as follows. First, Housing area included 1 to 4 content elements per each units, from 2 chapters and 6 units. The content elements stated in Home economics curriculum were total of 16 which consists of 'the meaning of housing,' 'housing types,' 'family forms,' 'family life style cycle,' 'life style,' 'neighboring environment,' 'co-living values,' 'air environment,' 'heat environment,' 'light environment,' 'acoustic environment,' 'space division,' 'circulation', 'effective use of space,' and 'sustainable dwelling practice.' All of these components are dealt with in every textbooks. Second, the numbers of content elements provided in each textbooks were the same, however they showed difference in their contextual aspect. Some contents need supplemental material for their lacking content element. Others need proper understanding of the concept because some showed different contents from the appropriate content elements. Third, repetitions in content elements were observed, the contents of 'co-living values' in textbook 1 and 'sustainable dwelling practice' in textbook 2 were similar in terms of eco-friendly housing, co-housing and universal housing. These two content elements should be merged as one next curriculum, or should be stated together in one subunit.
Through a field study of the folk houses, 'Closed ㄱㄴ Type' in Goyang-si, Gyonggj-do, focused on the dweller's life by the method of ethnographic interview, observation, and physical survey. L and opposite L type of inner and outer buildings form a closed inner court, and innermost backyard for woman is enclosed by fence. Form and space of the house contains dweller's traditional life. Outer space of a front gate becomes semiprivate space, for thrashing and piling up harvest and raising vegetables and pigs. Confucius principle does not fully dominate dweller's life of ancestral rite at Daecheong floor, and separation of man's and woman's quarter. Superstitious worship activities took place for lord of site and house. In everyday life, Anbang, inner main room, is assigned for parent's quarter instead of woman's quarter, and Geornbang, next room, was for son's family. Anbang has symbolic meaning for a place of deathbed. House contains agricultural activities, crop harvesting, thrashing, putting into storage, hulling rice, and keeping grain near kitchen. At present, rooms are needed more; sheds are made into rooms, rooms are enlarged toward outside, half outside space like Daechong floor becomes interior space by sash screen. And modern facilities of kitchen and bathroom are equipped for convenience. At the end, meaning and generative principle of those forms are discovered.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the present condition of work-leisure balance and its influencing factors in employed young single households. Three groups of sample households-work-oriented, balanced, and leisure-oriented-were compared by factors related to work and leisure. Six cases were interviewed to obtain qualitative data on the subjective meaning of work-life balance and its influencing factors. The results showed different characteristics between the three groups based on the various work- and -leisure- related factors: average weekly working hours of the week, number of vacation days per year, weekday leisure time, degree of weekday freedom, and sufficiency of the leisure cost. In addition, the characteristics considered desirable for quality of life differed between groups. Finding the meaning of life through work and leisure was very important for those respondents, who have an unstable position in the labor market, and who want to delay making decisions on moving into the marriage and family-building phase recognized as a major development task for Korean adults.
By conducting an ethnographic interviewing for women who had been traditionally recognized as the subject in consumption and analyzing the perception that they had on luxuries and necessities, this study tried a naturalistic interpretation on a meaning of "(small) luxury" recently well known to everybody. The target of interview included 20 women in their 20s to 50s living in Seoul and Kyunggi region. The sampling was made in consideration of an age, marriage, occupation, and household income level, etc. The data analysis had the process of drawing a final theme after having a domain analysis and a taxonomy analysis. In so doing, (1) women's experience of consuming life was described; (2) The analysis was made on what they would pursue in a consuming life, with a focus on a symbolic nature of a consumption; (3) Lastly, through a naturalistic interpretation, a theme regarding a meaning that a "luxury" had for them was drawn. As a result of an analysis, 12 domains and 5 taxonomies were derived. On the basis of it, 3 themes were deduced with respect to a meaning that a "luxury" had under the women's experience of consumption.
The purpose of this study was to provide the basic information about the formation background of urban squatter and their housing state in Korea. This study was progressed on the basis of socio-historical point of view from the opening of a port to the after the Korean War. In that sense, this study considered meaning of housing for urban squatter in the Korean housing history. For this study, the formation background of the urban squatter was divided into three periods. The first period was after the opening of a port (1876-1910) when the inflow of Japanese and their plundering from Korea started. The second was Japanese occupation period (1910-1945) which contributed to increase the number of Tomak (mud hut) and made the Tomak-min's village. The third period was Korean war & postwar years (1945-1953). This period was divided into three parts again; after the Korean independence (1945-1950), during the Korean War (1950-1953), and after the Korean War (1953-). The urban squatter was settled in the national land and the public land in each period and experienced the severe housing shortage. The government of the time could not protect the urban squatter from the special national states such as the Japanese rule and the Korean War.

Population ageing and the disabled population is increasing. so disabled population and elderly people in the physical environment for Barrier-Free recently has been getting attention. according to a recent welfare paradigm shift of life support promoting for the housing remodeling. but basic remodeling made of simple living environment improvement and facilities installation for the type of disability customised housing remodeling. efficient housing remodeling plan for remodeling before and after through change the safety accidents occurred ratio. living environment for the improvement of housing and reconstruction for the benefit of comprehensively considering for disability subject in Indoor living type and the type of disability, housing type etc. and personalize house was remodeling for corresponding each space problem for identify obstacles and living types. as a result satisfaction changes & safety accident rate changes as follow. first, have complained that there was a in to residents environment furniture for reconstruction of the former housing remodeling needs survey. 80.2% of total for the percentage of households with high needs remodeling. second, The survey did not meet the 29 furniture as after the construction for died about recipient & up sticks & long absence. this leave out after the safety accident Corporation about 101 housing in the 88% of households did not happen. as a result, the lower the ratio of safety accidents occurring very revealed. third, grasp the meaning for indoor living type. showed that each approach(83%), front porch(90%), kitchen, living room(91%), bedroom(93%), toilet(92%) for each space remodeling satisfaction flow through customized housing remodeling.

Such factors as living space, living environments, etc. are considered to have influence on housing satisfaction. Recently, increased residents' participation and residents' conflict in apartment management emerge as the important factors to influence it. They are more important in a social-mix housing complex of sales apartment and rental apartment, which is provided as a part of social mix. Therefore, a study hypothesis is established with a study model based on the precedent studies. The results from investigation the hypothesis are; First, the factor of living environment has meaningful influence on the factors of residents' participation and conflict. Second, residents' participation and conflict significantly affect housing satisfaction. Third, the factor of residents' participation shows a full mediated effect, and the factor of residents' conflict, a partial mediated effect. This study has a meaning as an exploratory one to identify a variable of residents' participation and conflict in social-mix apartment complex, and to verify their influence on houisng satisfaction empirically.
It was early in the $20^{th}$ century when the space was begun to say through the mutual circumstances of form and contents. Text is the structural meaning (sign), not a metaphorical one (symbol). Without the symbol, the architecture can be recognized as text with signing to the form. For that, there is a question how can be explained the space in terms of text extracting the meaning and the symbol. Absolutely not intended by Mies van der Rohe, but in his works of houses and pavilion, its characteristics and traces of text can be seen. If it is possible to analyse his works in the textual view, space of Mies will be found in the same direction of text. And it will be an important opportunity to re-evaluate the space of Mies works standing in the heart of Modern Architecture.
The exploratory purpose of this study was to investigate the Honsu trend and to examine the relationships between the Honsu, marriage exchange resources and marital satisfaction from general group and also explore the differences in Honsu expenditure between the general group and the aimed group. the explanatory purpose of this study was to prove the social meaning of the Honsu as a 'productive exchange resources' using Emerson's exchange network theory. The data was collected from 800 men and women of general group and 72 men and women of aimed group within 5 years of marital duration through the questionnaire method. Major findings of the study from the general group were as follows : in general group 1. The bridegroom group expended more Honsu than bride group. Bridegroom's primary expenditure item was house expenditure, and bride's primary one was newlywed life goods. 2. The bridegroom's Honsu were influenced positively by parents'SES, bridegroom & bride's education level and bride's parents'SES. Bride's Honsu were influenced positively by parents' SES and bridegroom & bride's education level. 3. Bridegroom's marital satisfaction were influenced positively by bride's marriage need, bridegroom's marriage need, bride's physical attraction and bridegroom & bride's education level. Bride's marital satisfaction were influenced positively by bride's marriage need, bridegroom's physical attraction, bridegroom & bride's education level, bridegroom's marriage need, bridegroom's future possibilities and bridegroom's Honsu. 4. The social meaning of the Honsu was a 'productive exchange resource'. 1. The bridegrooms of aimed group expended more housing expenditure and also Honsu than the brides but there's no statistically significant differences in Honsu expenditure between the bridegrooms and the brides of aimed group. 2. The bridegrooms of aimed group expended about 3 times more money for wedding present for spouse and abut 1.2 times more for Honsu than the bridegrooms of general group. The bride of aimed group expended about 4.6 times more money for general group. the bride of aimed group expended abut 4.6 times more money about 4 times more for housing expenditure and about 3 times more for total Honsu than the brides of general group.
This study initially analyzes the meaning of Community-Based Residential Environment Improvement. A residential environment improvement factor was determined through an analysis of the function, components, Planning techniques of the community, the evaluation criteria of the residential environment, and through relative literature documenting plans for the adjustment of urban and housing environments. In terms of the methodological approach, decisions were made based on the results of an expert focus-group-interview, a goodness-of-fit test, and by using the analytic network decision-making method from which the correlation among items can be considered. Results of this analysis show that the, order of importance of factors for a community-based residential environment is as follows: interactional character, cognitive character, and locational character. Furthermore, the most important aspect for each of these factors are the neighbor-hood relationship in terms of the interactional character, common consciousness for the cognitive character and place for locational character. The results of this study can be used by linking them with questionnaire items for basic resident research when a residential environment improvement project or a plan for the adjustment of urban and housing environments is planned.
