  • In this paper, the small chip meander antenna for dual-frequency operation is presented. The proposed chip meander antennas was fabricated by the ceramic chip using LTCC-MLC process. It is a novel compact dual-frequency design using a meandered patch that achieves more degrees of freedom for adjusting dual-frequency operation and the size reduction with narrow frequency ratio. And it is proposed that the 3D structure for additional size reduction of the meander antenna. The size reduction of the 3D meander antenna is as large as 50 % as compared to the design for dual-frequency operation not using 3D structure. It is observed that the principle of dual-frequency operation through current distribution, return loss and radiation pattern.

  • The proposed Triple-band Compact Chip Antenna using Coupled Meander line and stacked meander Structure for Mobile RFID/PCS/WiBro. The proposed antenna is designed to operate at 900, 1800, and 2350 MHz, and is realized by parasitic coupled and stacked a meander line. Meander lines are using extend length of effective current path more than monopole and contribute miniaturization. The coupled meander line controls the excitations of the Mobile RFID and PCS, stacked meander line controls the excitation of the WiBro. The proposed antenna size is $11mm\times22.5mm\times1mm$. The antenna supports 900MHz, 1800MHz and 2350MHz operations simultaneously with bandwidths of 33MHz, 230MHz and 100MHz, respectively. The proposed antenna gains are result of simulation to be -0.8dBi, 3dBi and 3.8dBi, respectively.

  • In this paper, Ive propose a bow-tie-shaped meander slot antenna find by a microstrip line to achieve compact size as well as wideband characteristic. While conventional bow-tie slot antennas exhibit wide band characteristic, they have relatively large size. On the other hand, the meander slot antennas are very small, but they reveal quite narrow bandwidth (typically less than 1 %). To realize miniaturized antennas balling large bandwidth, combination of the bow-tie slot and the meander slot geometries is proposed in this paper. Theoretical results show that the proposed antenna with uniform slot width is 65.5 % smaller than that of the conventional bow-tie antenna in size, while the bandwidth is 3 times larger than that of the meander slot antenna. Moreover, the non-uniform slot width antenna shows 60 % smaller in size and about 3.5 times wider in bandwidth than the previous antennas. Measured antenna performance reveals excellent agreement with the predicted values.

  • In this paper, a novel 400MHz band small meander microstrip antenna is proposed the shape of the proposed antenna is a waved meander microstrip with a pair rf short pins on th£ edge. the length of waved meander microstrip is $\lambda_g/4$ but it bends to half its size. Therefore, the total size of the proposed antenna is reduced to about 1/20 which is compared with a square patch antenna the simulated antenna gain is about 3dBi at 424MHz. the proposed antenna of -10dB impedance bandwidth is measured about $1.4\%$.

  • In this paper, we propose uniform slot width bow-tie-shaped meander slot antenna for 5 GHz application. The conventional bow-tie slot antenna has broadband characteristic, however, its size is large. Meanwhile, the meander slot antenna has small size, but it has quite narrow bandwidth. The proposed antenna geometry is a variation of the meander slot antenna incorporating bow-tie shape to realize miniaturized antenna having relatively large bandwidth. Simulated results show that with the same slot width and total slot length, the bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 3 times wider than that of meander slot antenna, and its resonant frequency is 3.01 GHz lower than that of the equal size(H x V) bow-tie slot antenna, and measured results show that the bandwidth of proposed antenna is 218 MHz(5.142 GHz ~ 5.360 GHz) which satisfy the required bandwidth from 5.15 GHz to 5.35 GHz.

  • A new meander-line antenna consisting of two open-ended strips is proposed for a compact and broadband UHF radio frequency identification tag. An equivalent circuit model for the proposed antenna is derived and used to perform a simple and wideband impedance match to an arbitrary complex impedance of a tag chip without any additional matching network. The performance of the proposed antenna is validated by comparing calculated and measured results, which show good agreement.

  • In this paper, a meander-line chip antenna with stacked layer is suggested, designed and fabricated employing the LTCC(Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) fabrication techniques. To reduce the antenna chip size, the meander-line antenna strip is distributed over three layer. Layers one interconnected using via holes. A 2.4 GHz chip antenna with size of $3.75{\times}7.9{\times}1.0 mm^3$ is designed and fabricated using the LTCC technique. Measurements of the fabricated antenna show 160 MHz bandwidth and 3.75 dBi maximum gain. The Measured reflection coefficient and radiation patterns agree well with the prediction by electromagnetic simulation.

  • A small meander line antenna for T-DMB (Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) is presented. The antenna proposed here is based on a typical planar meander line antenna and miniaturized by using a double sided structure. A prototype antenna is manufactured based on the simulation results and the basic performances are measured. The presented antenna designed to operate in T-DMB band (174~216MHz) and can be adopted for various mobile applications.

  • The paper describes a meander antenna using magneto-dielectric composite for 433.92 MHz band. The antenna with magneto-dielectric material in this paper is suggested for miniaturization of antenna size. The return loss of meander antenna is achieved by optimizing the permittivity, $\varepsilon_r$=1.71-j0.004 and permeability, $\mu_r$=2.39+j2.58. Over all dimension of the antenna is $51\times11\times1.6mm$. The return loss and gain are -41 dB, -5dBi, respectively at 433.92 MHz.

  • In this paper, A tag antenna structure for RFID application with resonant frequency of 920MHz is proposed using the meander line technique and Evolution Strategy. Miniaturization structure design for a tag antenna is performed by structure combining the half-wave dipole with a meander line. To achieve this, an interface program between a commercial EM analysis tool and the optimal design program is made for implementing the evolution strategy technique that seeks a global optimum of the objective function through the iterative design process consisting of variation and reproduction. The optimized tag antenna size is 63mm ${\times}$ 15mm ${\times}$ 1mm. And the proposed antenna is realized on FR-4 substrate (${\epsilon}_r=4.4$, $tna{\delta}=0.02$).
