초등학교 수학교과서에 나타난 의사소통으로서의 수학 (Mathematics as a Communication in Elementary School Mathematics Textbooks)

  • 이 연구는 학습에서 중요한 요소인 의사소통으로서의 수학이 우리나라 2007 개정 초등학교 수학 교과서에 어떻게 반영됐는지를 알아보기 위한 것이다. 의사소통 활동의 적합성, 용어 기호 사용의 적합성, 문어적 표현의 적합성, 시각적 표현의 적합성, 수학 및 교육과정과의 부합성이라는 기준에 따라 교과서를 분석해본 결과 교육과정의 의도를 잘 반영하는 부분도 있지만 용어의 사용이나 여러 표현에 있어서 미숙한 부분도 많이 발견되었다. 앞으로 교과서를 제작할 때 교과서 저자들 사이의 의사소통, 저자와 작가, 삽화가 등과 충분한 논의가 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

중학생을 대상으로 한 수학적 의사소통의 지도 효과에 관한 연구 (Effects of communication in learning middle grade school Mathematics)

  • This study investigated the effect of teaching mathematical communication in mathematics learning. Cooperative learning, mathematics pin pals, and writing a mathematics diary were used to teach how to communicate mathematically. The experimental group was assigned to cooperate in class, to write a mathematics diary at the end of each class, and to exchange the mathematics pen pals once a week. The control group was taught by the traditional teaching method. The results were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The learning achievement between the two groups was performed with pretests and posttests. And after this study, mathematics pen pals, video protocol and open-ended test were analyzed. The results of this study are the following: 1. There were little differences in learning achievement test between the group taught through communication and those not. And there were little differences in the results of achievement test between the two groups-high and low level classes.2. Cooperative learning, writing a mathematics diary and mathematics pen pals were effective as methods of teaching communication mathematically. The analysis of mathematics pen pals which is to investigate student's writing abilities showed that pen pal partners were improved in QCAI communication levels. There was a significant difference between the two groups in open-ended test. This means that communication learning has an effect on the tests for mathematical thought, reasoning, and creative thought. The analysis of video protocol showed that four students in a cooperative group were improved in their speaking and listening abilities.

정보통신기술 활용교육의 수학교과 적용 방안 탐색 (A Study on the Development and Application of Information Communication Technology into Mathematics Education)

  • As the information society appears, the increasing power and access of personal computers along with wide spread use of the information technology has not only changed the landscape for communication but it has opened up new and exciting opportunities for education. One of the ways that information technology could help improve education is to be used in interactive communication to share the knowledge and experience of all the teachers as well as students. In this paper, the use and application of information communication technology[ICT] into mathematics classroom are described and showed several examples. furthermore, the web site design and developed for this study was introduced of the purpose of sharing the ideas about the knowledge and usage of the history of mathematics and examples of mathematical connections. The study suggests that enabling mathematics in incorporating of ICT by teachers and students requires more effort to be made in training teachers on the use and application of ICT into mathematics classroom.

  • Interaction through communication plays critical role in the mathematics learning in the sociocultural perspectives. The communication make the students construct shared knowledge, and also plays a role of mediation in making meaning. So, we have to consider sociocultural eprspectives in design of the mathematics leaning using computer. While Computer Assisted Instruction was the one-directional teaching program which proceed from computer to students, mathematics leaning using computer in the sociocultural perspectives have to consider two-directional instruction that proceed from computer to students as well as from students to computer. This interactional activity is the critical thing in the mathematics learning using computer.

담화 중심 수학적 의사소통 수업의 분석 (An Analysis of Mathematics Instruction Focused on Discourse-Based Communication)

  • 수학적 의사소통이 학습과정에서 뿐만 아니라 수학교육의 목표로 강조되고 있으나 실제적으로 초등학교에서 수학적 의사소통 수업에 대한 구체적인 지도방법이나 수업 사례 분석 등의 연구가 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 수학적 의사소통 중에서 담화 중심 의사소통 수업의 성취 요소와 목표를 고려하여 2 4 6학년 수학 수업을 실시한 후, 수업에서 나타난 성취수준을 분석하고 교사와 학생 간의 언어 상호작용을 분석하였다. 담화 중심 수업을 실시한 세 교실에서 나타나는 공통점과 차이점을 분석하여 담화 중심의 수학수업 구현에 관한 시사점과 논의거리를 제공하고자 한다.

아동 문학을 활용한 수학 수업이 수학적 의사소통에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Mathematics Instruction Using Children's Literature on Mathematical Communication)

  • 이 연구는 아동문학을 활용하여 수학 수업을 운영하는 것이 학생들의 수학적 의사소통과 수학적 태도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구를 실행하기 위해 초등학교 6학년 학생들을 대상으로 수학 6-나 단계 교과 내용을 재구성하여 아동문학을 활용한 세 가지 유형의 수업방식을 10주간 20회에 걸쳐 현장에 적용하였으며, 그 효과를 수학적 의사소통 능력 측면과 수학적 태도 측면에서 분석하였다. 수학적 의사소통 능력에 대한 효과를 알아보기 위해 사전, 사후 개방형 문항 검사를 실시하여 t-test로 검증하였으며, 수학적 태도에 대한 영향을 알아보기 위해 사전, 사후 설문검사를 실시하여 t-test와 공변량분석으로 결과를 각각 검증하였다. 또한 학습 상황에서 일어나는 의사소통 과정 및 수학적 태도의 양상을 관찰하기 위해, 아동문학을 활용한 수업 과정을 캠코더로 촬영하여 그 중 각 유형별 수업을 임의로 선택하여 프로코콜 분석을 실시하였으며, 또한 학생들의 활동 모습을 관찰하고 인터뷰한 내용을 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과 아동문학을 수학 수업에 적용하면, 교과서 중심의 일반적인 수학 수업을 진행했을 때보다 학생들의 수학적 의사소통 능력과 수학적 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

수학적 의사소통으로서의 쓰기활동이 고등학교 학생들의 수학 학습에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Writing Activity as Mathematical Communication on the High School Students' Mathematics Learning)

  • In this paper, we study the effect of writing activity as mathematical communication on the students's mathematics achievement, learning attitude, and mathematical tendency. For this purpose, we construct a experimental class and then analyze the students' change in those aspects after applying three-divided-note writing activity and colleague feedback on their works those students are in the experimental class. As a result of the experiment, we find that three-divided-note writing activity and colleague feedback made some significant changes on the students achievement in mathematics, learning attitude, but does not affect on mathematical tendency. We also offer some suggestions for further research. Firstly, the mathematical communication ability must be stressed in mathematics education. For this purpose, we need to develop the teaching and the evaluation method to use not only writing but also reading, speaking, and listening skills so that many teachers can apply this method easily to their classes. Second, we need to fix some realistic problems such as fair evaluation , the numbers of students per class, the numbers of lesson, and too much extra-work, and so on. Thirdly, we suggest to explore some methods for extending three- divided-note writing activity to evaluate mathematical essay and to study educational effects of colleague feedback on mathematics performance assessment.

수학 학습-지도에서 읽기 활용 방안 (A study on reading in learning-teaching mathematics)

  • One of important topics in mathematics education research is communication. Mathematical communication consists of writing, reading, listening and speaking. But, research on reading has not yet to have a commensurate emphasis, despite important changes that have occurred in the theory and practice of communication. This study is intended to search for reading in school mathematics. First, we explore theories of reading and reading instruction. Second, the factors involved in reading are examined. These factors are learners, texts and teachers. Third, we provide a variety of reading strategies that are reading and enacting strategy, reconstructing strategy, presupposing strategy, becoming an author strategy, sketch to stretch strategy and reading- cooperative learning strategy. They will help students to foster students' mathematical ability as well as reading skill.

2015 개정 수학 교과서에 반영된 의사소통 역량 요소 탐색 - 중학교 1학년 함수 영역을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Communication Competency Represented in the New Seventh Grade Mathematics Textbook)

  • The six core competencies have been emphasized in the mathematics curriculum revised in 2015. In particular, the communication is very important for students' representing their own thinking and enhancing much higher mathematical thinking. Based on this competency, this study selected the four elements of the communication such as the understanding of mathematical representation, development and transition of mathematical representation, the representation of his own thinking, the understanding of the others' thinking. And also this study selected the domain of function which is comprised of the content of the coordinate plane, the graph, proportionality in the seventh grade mathematics textbook. By the subject of the ten kinds of textbook, this study examined how the four elements of the communication competency were shown in each textbook.

읽기 자료를 활용한 수업에서 나타난 수학적 의사소통과 수학적 성향 및 태도 분석 (The Effects of Lessons Using Reading Materials on Mathematical Communication, Disposition and Attitudes)

  • The purpose of this study was providing implications in teaching and learning activities to vitalize mathematical communication and to raise positive attitudes about mathematics. We analyzed mathematical communication, disposition and attitudes of the students who had lower mathematical achievement rather than that of Korean language in class using reading materials and strategies. We found that teaching-learning activities using the reading materials and strategies let the low achievers in mathematics communicate more about mathematical notions and problem-solving process actively. The activities triggered interests and attention of mathematics and self-study. In addition, the lessons with reading materials and strategies aroused confidence, will and responsibility to mathematics learning to the students. They made the learners notice mathematics' values and roles and gave the opportunity of reflection about students' learning processes. As a result, the teaching-learning using reading materials and strategies should be developed and accomplished actively in classroom to turn mathematical inclination and attitudes of the students who had had negative inclination and attitudes to mathematics into those of positive and to vitalize mathematical communication to the lower achievers in mathematics.
