  • Both theory and experiment are very important parts in sciences. Especially in mathematics, theory seems to be very important, but experiment or practice doesn't. Numerical analysis of many parts in mathematics needs practice in computer. In this paper, I suggest that computer-practicing in teaching power method, inverse power method and deflation to calculate eigenvalues and eigenvectors is good in understanding the theory. It also makes students sure that mathematics is helpful.

  • This research applies the climbing learning method that, a Japanese professor, Saito Noboru established and practiced, to fourth and sixth graders in an elementary school in order to analyze its effect on mathematical creativity, attitude toward mathematical creativity, so called CAS(Creative Attitude Scale) and academic achievement of the subject. The goal is to explore methods that can enhance students' mathematical creativity. To address these tasks, the research developed a teaching-learning scheme and learning structure chart that applies the climbing learning method. Next, the research organized two homogeneous groups among 124 students in fourth and sixth grades in S elementary school, located in the city of Busan. The experiment group went through classes that applied climbing learning method, while the control group received regular teaching. The following describes the research findings. After the experiment, the research conducted t-test for the independent sample based on the test result in terms of mathematical creativity, CAS and academic achievement of the subject. For mathematical creativity, all four constructing factor showed statistically significant differences at significance level of 5%. For CAS, statistically significant difference was revealed at significance level of 0.1%. However, in regard to a test of academic achievement for fourth and sixth graders, statistically significant difference was not detected at significance level of 5% even though the average score of the students in the experiment group was higher by 6 points. The research drew the following conclusion. Firstly, classes that apply climbing learning method can be more effective than regular classes in enhancing mathematical creativity of elementary school students. Secondly, the climbing learning method has positive impact on inclination for mathematical creativity of elementary school students. The research suggests that the climbing learning method can be an effective teaching-learning tool to improve students' mathematical creativity and inclination for mathematical creativity.

  • This study examined the effects of Literature-based Mathematical Activities using scaffolding (LMS) on the mathematical achievement, interest, and vocabulary of day care children. The experimental group of 15 boys and 15 girls was exposed to both literature and teacher's scaffolding while the comparison group of 14boys and 16 girls had traditional mathematics curriculum. The experiment was carried out for 8 weeks. ANCOVA and T-test were employed for a statistical analysis. The results revealed statistically significant differences in mathematical achievement, interest, and vocabulary between an experimental and control groups. We can conclude, therefore, that LMS is more effective in developing children's mathematical thinking abilities than a traditional mathematical curriculum.

  • This study assumes alternative character of the operation of gifted class in middle school. The case that operated the voluntary mathematics club for one year was analyzed and the educational effect was considered. First, the examination instrument for choosing the members of mathematics club was developed and used. Second, diverse teaching and learning materials for improving creativity and mathematical ability of the members were used. Third, the difference of learning result between the experiment group and control one who joined the activities of mathematics club was analyzed.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to show whether the results are changed with respect to the variance of the data, by analysis of data obtained from the Taguchi experimental techniques and general experiment. Because which cannot be prove by mathematical Formula, through experimental examples will show. Methods: Taguchi experiments were carried out with paper Helicopter experiment. Experimental Data are obtained by special designed Drop Test Equipment. While Experimental value arbitrarily changed, we looked at how Significant control Factor of Taguchi Methods and Factor experiments are changed. This process cannot be expressed as a Mathematical formula, but showed as a numerical example. Results: Saw significant changes in the factors when data is outside a certain range of the experimental data. By Test of Equivalence Variance, Experiment data is verified reliability. To find the Control Factor, Taguchi Method is better than the general experiment. Conclusion: We know that a Significant Factor is changed with the range of Variance of Experiment Data. The value of this paper is verified change process with Numerical Data obtained Experiment.

  • The primary purpose of the constructivist teaching experiment is to experience and construct models of students' mathematical teaming and reasoning. The constraints the teacher experience in teaching experiment constitute a basis for understanding students' mathematics. The constructivist teaching experiment that includes a dynamic interaction process between teacher and students and between students and students, is the most hopeful research method in mathematics education. In this paper, I introduced the constructivist teaching experiment and showed several examples of applications that were used in the previous research.

  • In this paper, we investigate a few strategies to construct Ulrich bundles of small ranks over smooth fourfolds in ℙ5, with a focus on the case of special quartic fourfolds. First, we give a necessary condition for Ulrich bundles over a very general quartic fourfold in terms of the rank and the Chern classes. Second, we give an equivalent condition for Pfaffian fourfolds in every degree in terms of arithmetically Gorenstein surfaces therein. Finally, we design a computer-based experiment to look for Ulrich bundles of small rank over special quartic fourfolds via deformation theory. This experiment gives a construction of numerically Ulrich sheaf of rank 4 over a random quartic fourfold containing a del Pezzo surface of degree 5.

  • The proportional pressure control valve(PCV) is an essential component in the open loop controlled rear wheel steering gear of the four wheel steering(4WS) system on the passenger car. The valve should have versatile functions and higher performance. But, it is hard to find the proportional pressure control valve suitable for the 4WS system. In this paper, the determination of the valve parameters was studied by the stability discrimination and the characteristic analysis for the purpose of the development of a new PCV for the 4WS. The mathematical model of the valve was derived from the valve-cylinder system and the programme for numerical computation was developed. The transfer function of the system was obtained from the mathematical model. The characteristics of the valve were inspected through the experiment and compared to those obtained by numerical method. And then the stability discrimination of the system was done by root locus and the analysis of characteristics was done by the developed programme. From the experiment and the analysis of characteristics was done by the developed programme. From the experiment and the inspection, the appropriation of mathematical model and the usefulness of the programme were confirmed. And the parameters which might affect the performance of the valve can be determined by considering the stability discrimination, the characteristics analysis and required functions.

  • $\alpha$-Chloromethylnaphthalene is a valuable compound for obtaining of the plant growing stimulator - $\alpha$-napthylacetic acid. Chloromethylation of naphthalene by paraformaldehyde in the presence of glacial acetic acid, phosphoric and hydrochloric acids at temperature 80-85$^{\circ}C$ and duration - 6 hours the $\alpha$-chloromethyl-naphthalene yield was 55-57%. Using Box-Wilson method for mathematical planning of experiment carried out optimization of its synthesis for purpose increasing $\alpha$-chloromethylnaphthalene yield. Preliminary, one - factor experiments were carried out for selecting independence main parameters influencing on the synthesis. A full factor experiment of 2$^3$with extended matrix of planning was used for optimization. Aiming to increase the $\alpha$-chloromethylnaphthalene yield, the obtained mathematical model was used for program of sharp raising on the reply surface. The received optimal conditions for the $\alpha$-chloromethylnaphthalene synthesis were selected as following: molar ratio of naphthalene - parapfsormaldehyde of 1 : 2; temperature -105$^{\circ}C$; duration of the reaction -3 hours. The yield of $\alpha$-chloromethylnaphthalene under these optimal conditions was 75 %.
