  • Chemical facility system have dangerous elements that can injure the human like an explosion and a fire, gas poisoning by a leakage of the harmful chemical material. In addition to a vibration of the machine occurs the leakage. Therefore, the chemical factory requires for periodic monitoring of the vibration. But, until now, the operator has executed a monitoring of the machine by the senses. So, the diagnostic expert system by which the operator can judge easily and expertly a condition of the machine is developed.   • About 40% of reactors in the world are being operated beyond design life or are approaching the end of their life cycle. During long-term operation, various degradation mechanisms occur. Fatigue caused by alternating operational stresses in terms of temperature or pressure change is an important damage mechanism in continued operation of nuclear power plants. To monitor the fatigue damage of components, Fatigue Monitoring System (FMS) has been installed. Most FMSs have used Green's Function Approach (GFA) to calculate the thermal stresses rapidly. However, if temperature-dependent material properties are used in a detailed FEM, there is a maximum peak stress discrepancy between a conventional GFA and a detailed FEM because constant material properties are used in a conventional method. Therefore, if a conventional method is used in the fatigue evaluation, thermal stresses for various operating cycles may be calculated incorrectly and it may lead to an unreliable estimation. So, in this paper, the modified GFA which can consider temperature-dependent material properties is proposed by using an artificial neural network and weight factor. To verify the proposed method, thermal stresses by the new method are compared with those by FEM. Finally, pros and cons of the new method as well as technical findings from the assessment are discussed.

  • We have developed an implantable wireless sensor for real time pressure monitoring of blood circulation system. MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) technology was adopted as a sensor development method. The sensor is composed of photolithographically patterned inductors and a distributed capacitor in gap between the inductors. A resulting LC resonant system produces its resonant frequency in range of 269 to 284 MHz at 740 mmHg. To read the resonant frequency changed by blood pressure variation, we developed a custom readout system based on a network analyzer functionality. The bench-top testing of the pressure sensors showed good mechanical and electrical functionality. A sensor was implanted into tibial artery of farm pig, and interrogated wirelessly with accurate readings of blood pressure. After 45 days, the sensor's electrical response and histopathology were studied with good frequency reading and biocompatibility.

  • 본 논문에서는 철도차량 견인전동기에 대한 상태진단 및 상시감시 기술에 관하여 소개하였다. 권선의 절연상태 진단을 위한 비파괴 시험법에서는 부분방전량 Q에 대한 평균열화도 $\Delta$로 표현되는 D-Map에 의해 잔여 절연내력(residual dielectric strength)을 예측하고, 기기의 운전이력측면에서 기동-정지 횟수와 열적, 전기적 및 열싸이클 스트레스 등에 의해 각 열화 인자를 고려한 운전시간에 기반한 N-Y 수명예측을 수행한다. 그리고 견인전동기의 전류에 대한 온라인 상태감시를 통해 베어링 고장, 고정자 및 전기자 고장, 고장 또는 전동기축 손상에 기인하는 비정상 운전상태 의 감지를 수행한다.

An Interface Module for Dehumidify Dryer in a Injection Molding Smart Factory System

  • When the injection molding system molds some plastic products, defective product rate will be increased if plastic materials have some excessive moisture content. Therefore, it is very important to control the dehumidification and drying of plastic material. Since the moisture content of the plastic material may change from time to time depending on the material and the molding process, it is necessary to observe the change in real time and maintain a constant moisture content. To solve these problems, I proposed a smart factory system model for plastic molding in this paper. In addition, I designed the interface module to be installed in the dehumidifying dryer which is the core of this process. In addition to this, performance tests were conducted to check the effectiveness and the results were verified as valid.

  • As a decrease in labor became a serious issue in the manufacturing industry, smart factory technology, which combines IT and the manufacturing business, began to attract attention as a solution. In this study, we have designed and implemented a real-time remote management system for smart factories, which is connected to an IoT sensor and gateway, for plastic manufacturing plants. By implementing the REST API in which an IoT sensor and smart gateway can communicate, the system enabled the data measured from the IoT sensor and equipment status data to the real-time monitoring system through the gateway. Also, a web-based management dashboard enabled remote monitoring and control of the equipment and raw material processing status. A comparative analysis experiment was conducted on the suggested system for the difference in processing speed based on equipment and measurement data number change. The experiment confirmed that saving equipment measurement data using cache mechanisim offered faster processing speed. Through the result our works can provide the basic framework to factory which need implement remote management system.

  • We have developed a laser welding monitoring system to monitor laser welding process conditions such as sample feed rate, laser focal position, and laser power. A 2 ㎾ Nd:YAG CW laser beam has been applied to the welding of a stainless steel plate (SUS306) to investigate the welding monitoring. Theradiation signal from the weld pool was guided back through the focusing optics and the laser delivery fiber, and measured by a photo detector. By changing the focus of the laser beam along the z-direction, the penetration depth of the welding material has been measured. That shows the penetration depth depends on the frequency fluctuations of the plume signals which can be used in welding quality control.

Durable and Sustainable Strap Type Electromagnetic Harvester for Tire Pressure Monitoring System

  • A new concept design of electromagnetic energy harvester is proposed for powering a tire pressure monitoring sensor (TPMS). The thin coil strap is attached on the circumferential surface of a rim and a permanent magnet is placed on the brake caliper system. When the wheel rotates, the relative motion between the magnet and the coil generates electrical energy by electromagnetic induction. The generated energy is stored in a storage unit (rechargeable battery, capacitor) and used for TPMS operation and wireless signal transmission. Innovative layered design of the strap is provided for maximizing energy generation. Finite Element Method (FEM) and experiment results on the proposed design are compared to validate the proposed design; further, the method for design improvement is discussed. The proposed design is excellent in terms of durability and sustainability because it utilizes the everlasting rotary motion throughout the vehicle life and does not require material deformation.

  • The ICT concept has been introduced to realize a highly productive smart factory and respond to the demand for small quantity and mass production between textile processes. ICT convergence monitoring system that can produce high productivity textile products by improving product development period, cost, quality and delivery time through ICT based production and optimization of manufacturing process is needed. In this paper, we propose and implement a system design that senses the amount of remaining sewing material using a non-contact sensor that can be mounted on a sewing machine and displays it on a display using IOT-based LATTE-PANDA board.

  • This study present to Framework & R&D direction of the 3d printing Integrated Control & Monitoring System. To ensure this purpose, we developed integrated 3d printing control system Framework for DED & PBF and we introduce 4 monitoring system include photo diode, gas flow, acoustic and spectrometer sensors. For this study, we utilize metal 3d printing system from Conception., OKE Tech and DE&T who are still developing Metal 3D Printing Technology since 2017. In the result, we represent the latest 3D Printing Control and Monitoring System for the next 3D Printing researcher and we hope this study will be used as a basic reference and data for Cooperation between mechanic, electronic and material fields.
