EXACT SOLUTION FOR STEADY PAINT FILM FLOW OF A PSEUDO PLASTIC FLUID DOWN A VERTICAL WALL BY GRAVITY

  • Here in this paper, the steady paint film flow on a vertical wall of a non-Newtonian pseudo plastic fluid for drainage problem has been investigated. The exact solution of the nonlinear problem is obtained for the velocity profile. Also the average velocity, volume flux, shear stress on the wall, force to hold the wall in position and normal stress difference have been derived. We retrieve Newtonian case, when material constant ${\mu}_1$ and relaxation time ${\lambda}_1$ equal zero. The results for co-rotational Maxwell fluid is also obtained by taking material constant ${\mu}_1$ = 0. The effect of the zero shear viscosity ${\eta}_0$, the material constant ${\mu}_1$, the relaxation time ${\lambda}_1$ and gravitational force on the velocity profile for drainage problem are discussed and plotted.

소형(小型) 정전(靜電) 유도형(誘導型) 모터의 기초(基礎) 연구(硏究) (A Basic Study on Miniature Size Electrostatic Induction Meter)

  • 본(本) 연구(硏究)에서는 소형(小型) 정전유도형(靜電誘導型) 모터를 제작하고 이 모터에 인가하는 3상(相) 교류전압(交流電壓) 및 주파수(周波數)를 가변(可變)하였을 때의 회전자(回轉字)의 회전속도(回轉速度)의 특성을 실험적으로 검토하였다. 또한 정전유도형(靜電誘導型) 모터의 작동기구상(作動機構上) 회전자(回轉字) 표층물질(表層物質) 및 내층물질(內層物質)의 표면저항율(表面抵抗率), 비유전율(比誘電率) 및 전하완화시정수(電荷緩和時定數)를 변화시켜 회전자(回轉字) 및 고정자(固定子) 사이의 전계강도(電界强度) 및 회전자(回轉字) 표면물질상(表面物質上)의 표면유기전하(表面誘起電荷)의 분포(分布) 및 유기속도(誘起速度)를 변화시킴으로서 소형(小型) 정전유도형(靜電誘導型) 모터의 회전자의 회전속도에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 실험(實驗) 결과(結果), 회전자(回轉字) 표층물질(表層物質)의 비유전율(比誘電率), 표면저항률(表面抵抗率) 및 전하완화시정수(電荷緩和時定數) 및 내층물질(內層物質)의 비저항율(比抵抗率)이 모터의 회전속도(回轉速度)에 매우 큰 영향을 미침이 확인되었다. 또한 모터에 인가하는 3상(相) 전원(電源)의 전압(電壓) 및 주파수(周波數)도 모터의 회전(回轉)에 매우 큰 영향을 주며, 회전속도(回轉速度)는 인가전압(印加電壓) 및 주파수(周波數)에 일차(一次) 비례(比例)하여 증가함을 보여주었다. 회전자의 표층물질(表層物質)이 $BaTiO_{3}$ 80% 내층물질(內層物質)이 Cu 일때 무부하(無負荷) 최대속도(最大速度)는 4.5 kV, 220 Hz에서 5500 rpm이 얻어졌다.

  • (Ba$_{0.6-x}$Sr$_{0.4}$Ca$_{x}$)TiO$_3$ (x=0.10, 0.15, 0.20) ceramics were fabricated by the mixed-oxide method and their dielectric properties were investigated with variation of composition ratio, doped ZrO$_2$ (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0 wt%) and sintered at 145$0^{\circ}C$. The dielectric constant and loss of the x=0.10 specimen applied field were 19.86 and 0.302 % at 0 V/cm, and 25.937 and 0.339 % at 300 V/cm, respectively. Dielectric constant were increased with increased applied field and decreased with increased frequency, and dielectric loss were within 0.1% at applied 800 MHz, respectively. all specimens showed fairly good applied field. Although, dielectric constant and loss of all specimen showed to tend of nearly the same. same.

  • [ $SrTiO_3$ ]:Al, Pr red phosphors for FED were synthesized by solid state reaction method. The dependence of their luminescent properties on Sr and Al concentration was investigated. The $SrTiO_3$: Al, Pr phosphors showed the characteristic X-ray diffraction patterns of the perovskite structure. Photoluminescence intensity and lattice constant in $SrTiO_3$: Al, Pr phosphors changed in quite a similar manner with Sr concentration. Photoluminescence intensity increased with increasing lattice constant, and the decrease of photoluminescence intensity and lattice constant occurred in the vicinity of 1 mol Sr concentration.

  • In this study, behavior of $C_t$ which is a well-known fracture parameter characterizing creep crack growth rate, is investigated for weld interface cracks. Finite element analyses were per formed for a C(T) specimen under constant loading condition for elastic-plastic-creeping materials. In modeling C(T) geometry, an interface was employed along the crack plane which simulated the interface between weld and base metals. The $C_t$ versus time relations were obtained under various creep constant combinations and plastic constant combinations for weld and base metals, respectively. A unified $C_t$ versus time curve is obtained by normalizing $C_t$ with $C^*$ and t with $t_T$ for all the cases of material constant variations.

  • Superconducting windings of synchronous machine have to be operated in below the critical temperature, critical current density and critical magnetic field. If one of these characteristics does not satisfied, then the quench occurred in superconducting winding. Especially the armature current dramatically increased as the superconducting generator is short-circuited at the rated load condition and magnetic field in field winding increased due to the armature current. Therefore, damper is required to reduce the magnetic field of field winding which increases reliability of the superconducting generator. Damper dimension can be decided by time constant[1-2]. In this paper the basic model is high-power and low-speed superconducting generator. Damper time constant was calculated from the changed damper thickness and material. Magnetic flux of field coil at the basic model and changed damper time constant model is analyzed.

  • Low dielectric constant fluorinated oxide (SiOF) films were deposited using SiF$_4$/O$_2$/SiH$_4$mixtures by electron cyclotron resonance chemical vapor deposition (ECR CVD). Chemical composition of SiOF films was investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-lR). The fluorine content in the SiOF film observed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The dielectric constant decreased with increasing of the SiF$_4$ flow rate about 8sccm. The SiOF film, deposited with SiF$_4$=8 sccm, exhibited a F content of 5 atomic % and a relative dielectric constant 3.45. For evaluating SiOF films stability, humidity tests were performed.

질화갈륨 박막의 유전 상수 (Dielectric constant of GaN thin films)

  • We measured the dielectr~c constant of undoped GaN thin films grown on (0001) sapphire substrates In 0.8 - 4.5 eV energy (276 - 1550 nm wavelength) range by spectroscopic ellipsometry. For more accurate data analysis we also performed X-ray diffraction, photolurninescence and Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy on samples. Data were analyzed with a four-phase model. The dielectric constant of GaN thin films was obtained not only in the transparent region but also around the absorption edge. Absorption edge energy, $3.3992{\pm}0.002$eV was determined from the obtained dielectric function.

  • In this study, HEMA-based hydrophilic copolymers were synthesized and dielectric constant (K) of the polymer thin films were investigated by change hydroxyl group (-OH) ratio in the polymer chain. The different hydroxyl group ratios were characterized by FT-IR and its thin films were obtained by spin coating. As a result, due to the moisture absorption of the hydrophilic thin film, the dielectric constant has been increased as was expected. The highest dielectric constant (K=4.19, @1MHz) was observed at 40% hydroxyl group ratio among the several polymers.

  • The paper proposes a new sonic resonance test for a dynamic elastic constant measurement which is based on time-average electronic speckle pattern interferometry(TA-ESPI)and Euler-Bernoulli equation. Previous measurement technique of dynamic elastic constant has the limitation of application for thin film or polymer material because contact to specimen affects the result. TA-ESPI has been developed as a non-contact optical measurement technique which can visualize resonance vibration mode shapes with whole-field. The maximum vibration amplitude at each vibration mode shape is a clue to find the resonance frequencies. The dynamic elastic constant of test material can be easily estimated from Euler-Bernoulli equation using the measured resonance frequencies. The TA-ESPI dynamic elastic constant measurement technique is able to give high accurate elastic modulus of materials through a simple experiment and analysis.
