Method to improve the Data Transfer Efficiency in the PCI 2.2 using Prefetch Request (PCI 2.2에서 프리페치 요구를 이용해서 데이터 전송 효율을 향상시키는 효과적인 방법)

  • When the PCI 2.2 bus master requests data using Memory Read command, the target device my hold PCI bus without data transfer for a long time because the target device requires time to prefetch data internally. Because the PCI bus usage efficiency and the data transfer efficiency are decreased due to this situation, the PCI specification recommends to use the Delayed Transaction mechanism to improve the performance. But the mechanism doesn't fully improve performance because the target device doesn't blow prefetch data size exactly. In this paper, we propose a new method to transfer data efficiently when the bus master reads data from the target device. The bus master informs the target device the exact read data size using prefetch request using Memory Write command. The simulation result shows that the proposed method has the higher data transfer efficiency than the Delayed Transaction about 10%.

  • This paper presents the duplex controller operated as master slave for Self Excited Static Type excitation system and the results of operation for duplex digital excitation system. Software is made up duplex multi-tasking control algorithm which is based on VxWorks(real-time OS), preprocessing algorithm for input-output signal, BSP & Device Driver for interfacing hardware and software, and OIS(Operator Interface Station) program, HMI S/W. Master controller and slave controller intercommunicate dominant data to minimize bump when controller switchover from master to slave occurs.   • LIGA(Lithographie Galvanoformung Abformung), a fabrication method for the production of microstructrues with a high aspect ratio, is now playing an important role in a fabrication of polymeric optical waveguide device as the replication processes have been developed such as hot embossing and injection molding. The present report deals with the fabrication of Ni master used for the replication of multi-mode polymeric optical waveguide. With the basic technological features in the sequence of the LIGA technique, we fabricated Ni master with 12 channel microstructures of $100\;{\times}\;100{\mu}m\;^2{\times}\;60mm$, and achieved an accuracy of ${\pm}1\;{\mu}m$. Manufactured polymeric optical wavegude with the same using hot embossing process has also the same accuracy and approved its mass production capability.

  • The Master-Slave manipulator is the generally used remote handling equipment in the hot cell, in which the high level radioactive materials such as spent fuels are handled. To analyze the motion and to implement the training system by virtual reality technology, the simulator for M-S manipulator using the computer graphics is developed. The parts are modelled in 3-D graphics, assembled, and kinematics are assigned. The inverse kinematics of the manipulator is defined, and the slave of manipulator is coupled with master by the manipulator's specification. Also, the virtual workcell is implemented in the graphical environment which is the same as the real environment. This graphic simulator of manipulator can be effectively used in designing of the maintenance processes for the hot cell equipment and enhance the reliability of the spent fuel management.

  • In this paper, a new master arm was developed as an input device of the remote control system for easy control of the industrial robot arm; it has a structure similar to the robot arm and is easy to wear. For control of the slave arm, related equations were derived about the joints between the master and slave arm; and thereby using them, the master arm control system was developed. Furthermore, a control simulator was developed for the convenient and accurate control of the slave arm. Experiments, about controlling the slave arm in applying the master arm, were performed to validate the developed simulator and the derived related equations.

  • Tuned mass dampers (TMD) are devices employed in vibration control since the beginning of the twentieth century. However, their implementation for controlling the seismic response in civil structures is more recent. While the efficiency of TMD on structures under far-field earthquakes has been demonstrated, the convenience of its employment against near-fault earthquakes is still under discussion. In this context, the study of this type of device is raised, not as an alternative to the seismic isolation, which is clearly a better choice for new buildings, but rather as an improvement in the structural safety of existing buildings. Seismic records with an impulsive character have been registered in the vicinity of faults that cause seismic events. In this paper, the ability of TMD to control the response of structures that experience inelastic deformations and eventually reach collapse subject to the action of such earthquakes is studied. The results of a series of nonlinear dynamic analyses are presented. These analyses are performed on a numerical model of a structure under the action of near-fault earthquakes. The structure analyzed in this study is a steel frame which behaves as a single degree of freedom (SDOF) system. TMD with different mass values are added on the numerical model of the structure, and the TMD performance is evaluated by comparing the response of the structure with and without the control device.

  • At the present day, devices for measurement and control of data by wireless based computer have been generalized. The devices with low cost and high performance have been spotlighted. If Zigbee communication solution is used in dangerous places and places that can not in use wire communication, computer can process data without limitation. Zigbee communication solution is effective in power consumption as compared with RF or bluetooth and can use battery. System cost of Zigbee also is very low, so can install lots of nodes. The system made in this paper transmit by wireless many LMCs(Laser Measuring Control) of wireless transmission system for distance measurement and many slave Zigbee to a master Zigbee.

  • A master-slave system is proposed as a teaching device for a dual arm robot. The slave robots are remotely controlled by two delta-type master arms. In order to help the operator to observe the target object from the desired position and desired direction, cameras are mounted on a specialized manipulator, Movements of two slave arms are coordinated with that of the cameras. Due to this coordinated movements, the operator needs not to care the geometrical relation between the cameras and the slave robots.

  • 현대에 컴퓨터를 기반으로 무선으로 데이터를 측정하고 제어하는 device들이 보편화 되어있으며, 낮은 가격으로 높은 성능을 낼 수 있는 device들이 각광 받고 있다. 그리고 산업 환경에서 유선 이용이 불가능한 곳이나 직접 사람이 들어갈 수 없는 위험한 장소와 거리 측정할 때 Zigbee 통신 Solution을 이용한다면 공간의 제약 없이 컴퓨터로 데이터를 분석 처리할 수 있다. Zigbee 통신은 기존의 RF나 bluetooth등에 비해 전력 소모에서 효율적이고 battery 사용을 장시간 사용할 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다. 또한 시스템 구현 비용이 아주 저렴하기 때문에 네트워크에 많은 노드들을 설치 할 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서 구현한 거리 측정 무선 송/수신 시스템은 여러 개의 LMC(Laser Measuring Control)와 이에 상응하는 여러 개의 Slave Zigbee에서 하나의 Master Zigbee 까지 무선으로 데이터를 송신한다. Master Zigbee는 LMC에서 측정한 데이터들을 수신 받아 컴퓨터로의 처리를 하고자 하였다.

  • A study for the circularity of machine tool is classified into two ways. One is to measure the circularity of machine tool by a existing measuring device. The other is to measure the circularity by remodeling the existing measuring device. We will improve on measurement of circularity using circular test method by a two-dimensional probe and a master ring for machining tools and investigate influence of trigger method, acceleration data sampling.
