  • Light is important as to say that it completes space and form. Space that is made by light is not only functional but it can be seen as a place where space and people communicate to each other. Recently mass media is embossed as communication method. Light is the most instant and affluent factor among what consists of the image of space to express sensitivity. Especially the artificial lighting plays an important role in the presentation of space in the mass media with the progress of technology. Therefore this study's purposes are to search how the artificial light present the image of space in the mass media and to suggest alternative methods to present the image with artificial lighting.

  • To develope a solid culture media for the mass culture of Beauveria bassiana conida, wheat bran was selected as C source and N source. The pellet media were prepared without(P-I) and with(P-II) solidified ingredient. The moisture for the growth of B. bassiana was required over 4 : 2 of Media : D.W (W/V). The growth of Beauveria bassiana on the media type was more effective in media of pellet type than that of powder type. In addition, production of Beauveria bassiana conidia on the media size was more effective in media of S type($\Phi$3mm) than that of L type($\phi$7mm). And the yield of Beauveria bassiana conidia at 2$0^{\circ}C$ cultivation on 3 weeks post inoculation was similar to that of $25^{\circ}C$. Above-mentioned results showed that pellet medium (P-I) was effective to growth of Beauveria, suggesting that the pellet media may be useful in the mass production of Beauveria bassiana conidia.

  • The solids and the fluids in porous media have a relative velocity to each other. Due to physically and chemically different material properties and their relative velocity, the behavior of saturated porous media is extremely complicated. Thus, in order to describe and clarify the deformation behavior of saturated porous media, constitutive models for deformation of porous media coupling several effects need to be developed in frame of Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian(ALE) description. The aim of ALE formulations is to maximize the advantages of Lagrangian and Eulerian elements, and to minimize the disadvantages. Therefore, this method is appropriate for the analysis of porous media which are considered for the behavior of the solids and the fluids. For this reason, mass balance equations for saturated porous media are derived here in ALE description frames. ALE formulations of mass conservation for the solid phase and the fluid phase are expressed. Then, linear momentum balance equation for porous media as multiphase media is expressed.

  • This study examines whether cyberspace produced by computer mediated communication(CMC) would perform the public sphere through the agenda-setting process. By doing this, this study focused on how the cyberspace agenda is set and on how the characteristics of cyberspace and the mass media influence the cyberspace agenda-setting process. Through this study, the possibility of cyberspace as the public sphere is found although the characteristics of cyberspace decide this possibility. In particular, in order for cyberspace to contribute to enhancing democracy as a form of alternative media, the interaction among cyberspace, mass media and the off-line arena is a necessary condition. The interaction between cyberspace and mass media regarding the Sungsoo Women's Middle School violence case provides two very important points. First, cyberspace helps the individual agenda to be adopted by mass media as the media agenda. Second, mass media confirmed the credibility of cyberspace agenda through reporting. In addition, this study reveals that cyberspace would perform as the public sphere only when the interaction between on-line and off-line is provided.

  • The Richards equation for water movement in unsaturated soil is highly nonlinear partial differential equations which are not solvable analytically unless unrealistic and oversimplifying assumptions are made regarding the attributes, dynamics, and properties of the physical systems. Therefore, conventionally, numerical solutions are the only feasible procedures to model flow in partially saturated porous media. The standard Finite element numerical technique is usually coupled with an Euler time discretizations scheme. Except for the fully explicit forward method, any other Euler time-marching algorithm generates nonlinear algebraic equations which should be solved using iterative procedures such as Newton and Picard iterations. In this study, lumped mass and distributed mass in the frame of Picard and Newton iterative techniques were evaluated to determine the most efficient method to solve the Richards equation with finite element model. The accuracy and computational efficiency of the scheme and of the Picard and Newton models are assessed for three test problems simulating one-dimensional flow processes in unsaturated porous media. Results demonstrated that, the conventional mass distributed finite element method suffers from numerical oscillations at the wetting front, especially for very dry initial conditions. Even though small mesh sizes are applied for all the test problems, it is shown that the traditional mass-distributed scheme can still generate an incorrect response due to the highly nonlinear properties of water flow in unsaturated soil and cause numerical oscillation. On the other hand, non oscillatory solutions are obtained and non-physics solutions for these problems are evaded by using the mass-lumped finite element method.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between sexually explicit video viewing and social support through the mass media and the sex openness of adolescents. Methods: This study used as the main data of 'Study on Measures against Sexualization of Juveniles through Mass Media in the Smart Age' conducted by 'National Youth Policy Institute' in 2014 nationwide. 3,176 of the 4,356 adolescents in Korea were selected as the final study subjects after excluding the 1,180 missing adjectives. Results: As a result, sex openness of male students was higher than that of female students. The higher the grade, the higher the sex openness, and the higher the stimulus, the higher the sex openness. The higher the imitation sharing, the higher the sex openness. The higher the human rights violation, the lower sex openness. Finally, the higher the social support, the higher the sex openness. Conclusions: In conclusion, strengthening the management of realistic media providers and emotional education rather than the unconditional regulation of mass media is expected to help prevent adverse effects on the sex openness of adolescents.

  • This paper seeks to interrogate the very assumption of "sociality" in social media at a conceptual level and substantiate it with the help of information collected on aged people's use of conventional media $vis-{\grave{a}}-vis$ so called "social media" from the field work. Although global literature has written the obituary of mass media and promoted the "sociality" of social media, one needs to critically engage with such statement. Such statements have been an outcome of the established status of the "post broadcast" model of media where conventional media is in existence for some time and accessible to everyone in society. Further, this paper seeks to explore the interplay of new media in the life of the aged population in select areas of Kolkata city in the state of West Bengal, India. There are few studies on the ageing population's use of new media in the Indian context. While many of the studies reveal the new media literacy among the youth, this is unimportant as both the new media and the youth are relatively young as a field of research in media studies in India. What is missed in the earlier studies is, how new media plays an important function in the life of the aged population. How do older adults engage with the skilling and deskilling process of media literacy in their everyday life? And finally, do new media provide an extension to their on-going social relations? With the help of substantive details, the present study addresses the aforementioned queries.

  • To develope a microbial pesticide for the control of agricultural and forestal pests in Korea, the mass culture system of entomopathogenic fungi was studied. Previously, we have developed the mass culture system which was adaptable for the culture of Beauveria bassiana. In this study, we determined the efficacy of this mass culture system for other entomopathogenic fungi, B. bassiana, Beauveria brongniartii, Metarhizium anisopliae, and Verticillium lecanni. To determine the efficacy of mass culture system, we examined the growth rate of entomopathogenic fungi in this system which was composed of 1st liquid media for growth of blastospore and 2nd pellet media for growth of conidia. As the result, we obtained that the blastopore numbers increased 103-104 times in liquid media at 72 hrs post inoculation. The results showed that this mass culture system for the growth of entomopathogenic fungi was effective.

  • To simulate solid dynamics,a we must com-pute the mass, the center of mass, and the products of inertia about the axes of the body of interest. These mass property computations must be continuously re-peated for certain simulations with rigid bodies or as the shape of the body changes. We introduce a GPU-friendly algorithm to approximate the mass properties for an arbitrarily shaped body. Our algorithm converts the necessary volume integrals into surface integrals on a projected plane. It then maps the plane into a frame-buffer in order to perform the surface integrals rapidly on the GPU. To deal with non-convex shapes, we use a depth-peeling algorithm. Our approach is image-based; hence, it is not restricted by the mathematical or geometric representation of the body, which means that it can efficiently compute the mass properties of any object that can be rendered on the graphics hardware. We compare the speed and accuracy of our algorithm with an analytic algorithm, and demonstrate it in a hydrostatic buoyancy simulation for real-time applications, such as interactive games.
