Effects of SNS Characteristics upon Consumers' Awareness, Purchase Intention, and Recommendation

  • Purpose - This study analyzed the characteristics of social networking sites (SNSs) using related literatures, and researched the models discussed in precedent studies, to investigate the effects of SNS characteristics upon consumers'awareness, purchase intention, and recommendation. The purpose of the study was to investigate the use of SNSs as a marketing tool. Design, methodology, and approach - For an empirical analysis, the author distributed questionnaires online and offline, to verify the models and hypotheses. Respondents were persons aged 17 or older, who were frequent users of SNSs. The questionnaire survey was conducted for 11 days from September 30, 2013 to October 10, 2013. The author distributed 450 copies and received 430 responses. Finally, 412 copies were used for the analysis after excluding 18 copies having poor answers. Results - The findings about SNS users' behavior could be used as material in the future use of SNS as a marketing tool. Further, the study provided not only theories about SNS characteristics, but also variables and items that were verified during the empirical study. Conclusions - Further studies are needed to overcome the limitations and to establish various kinds of SNS marketing strategies in detail.

Acceptance of Social Media as a Marketing Tool : A Quantitative Study

  • Purpose - The purpose of current paper is to identify features of advertisements at social media that generate the ad-click and to further identify if these advertisements lead to purchase. If no purchase is made, then reasons for not making purchase are identified. Users' purchase experience after users clicked at advertisements are also studied. Research design, data, and methodology - Research design followed is exploratory research, where various factors leading to ad-clicks and generating purchase at social media platform were explored. Raw data was gathered by means of survey among a sample of 185 respondents in India using online structured questionnaire. GLM model and multinomial regression were used to analyze the data. Results - Several factors including endorsement by friends, advertisement aesthetics, product reviews, and aggressive pricing played major role in generating ad-clicks. Major impediment to purchase on were product misrepresentation in advertisement, false discounts, and site security. Female users clicked more on social media advertisements and made more purchases compared to their male counterpart. Conclusions - Social media advertisements have significant positive effect on buying behavior of online customers. Transactions culminating from social media ad-click generated significant positive experience for social media users. Thus, social media can be effective marketing tool.

  • 제품을 보호하고 소비자에게 정보를 전달하는 기능을 하는 패키징은 NFC, QR Code 등 다양한 기술을 활용하여 소비자와 상호작용 한다. 최근 마케팅 분야에서 증강현실 기술이 다양하게 활용되고 있으며, 증강현실 시장도 가트너 하이프사이클에 따라 지속적으로 성장할 것으로 예상된다. 하지만 패키징 분야에서는 증강현실을 일부 기업에서만 활용되어지고 있다. 패키징에 증강현실을 적용한다면 기업은 한정된 패키징의 크기에서 벗어나 소비자에게 제품에 대한 더 많은 정보를 제공할 수 있다. 또한 다양한 콘텐츠를 통해 소비자와 상호작용하여 소비자의 제품의 이해를 높여줄 수 있고, 긍정적으로 브랜드에 대한 소비자의 흥미를 이끌 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 패키징과 증강현실의 정의, 특징, 장점 및 시장 현황에 대해서 정리하고 증강현실의 콘텐츠 유형의 특징 및 사례를 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 증강현실을 활용한 마케팅의 특징을 확인하였으며, 특히 패키징 분야에서 마케팅 도구로서의 증강현실 적용에 대한 필요성을 확인할 수 있었다.

스마트폰 애플리케이션 개발자의 마켓결속 요인에 관한 연구 (A study on Factors Affecting the Relational Commitment of Application Developers to the Market)

  • Since smart phones are changing the media for communication and its related mobile market, it is imperative to attract more application developers for success in application store business in order to attract more app users. By using aspects of the commitment marketing theory and the relationship marketing theory, this research study identified factors that influence on the relational commitment of application developers to the market. Survey of application developers from Korean mobile application developers' community was conducted to test the hypothesized model. The empirical results showed from an economic behavioral perspective market demand for applications and perceived usefulness of development tool led to relational commitment of developers mediated by perceived satisfaction while attractiveness of alternatives had no significant effect. In addition, fairness of review process and interactivity, based on the relationship marketing theory perspective, showed significant effect on the relational commitment of developers mediated by trust for application market.

인테리어 디자인을 위한 相談 補助 시스템의 開發 (The Development of a Consulting Assisting System for Interior Design)

  • With the improved quality of life standards interior design is recently gaining more concerns than ever before. This requires more well organized and standardized business and marketing in the field. Consequently, a few interior design firms concern about computerizing their marketing process to do this. This paper focuses on developing a computerized consulting system assisting interior design. For this a standardized consulting process is developed. The process includes the input of customer's information, surveying customer's preferences on interior design styles, estimation and budget adjustment, suggesting packages and interior items, and printing consulting results. The system developed is valuable in three different viewpoints: First, from the customer's view it can be a decision-making tool. Second, from the consultant's point of view it is a front-end marking tool. Third, it is an information collector from the viewpoint of an interior design firm.

  • 본 사례는 대표적인 B2B 기업인 삼성석유화학이 토털마케팅 활동을 통하여 어떻게 고객 가치를 창출하고 있는지를 분석하고 있다. B2B 산업의 많은 기업들은 상대적으로 마케팅의 역할을 과소평가하고 있으며, 마케팅적 접근을 투자가 아니라 비용개념으로 인식하고 있다. 그러나 삼성석유화학의 사례는 B2B 산업에서도 브랜드 마케팅을 정점으로 한 토털 마케팅의 도입이 고객 가치를 창출하는 데 매우 효과적임을 보여주고 있다. 본 사례는 삼성석유화학의 마케팅 전략을 크게 브랜드 마케팅과 이를 실현하기 위한 SPC 모델(서비스-제품-고객)의 두 가지 축으로 제시하고 있다. 삼성석유화학의 토털 마케팅 사례는 적극적인 마케팅 활동을 고려하고 있는 많은 B2B 기업에게 의미 있는 시사점을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

디지털 마케팅 성과에 영향을 미치는 제품의 유형과 디지털 채널 선정에 관한 연구 (The Effect of Product Type and Channel Prioritization on Effective Digital Marketing Performance)

  • Purpose - This study aims to build a systematic frame for effective marketing performances by prioritizing product type and pertinent channel that are appropriate for digital channel characteristics. FCB grid model was used to define a product type, and Internet communication satisfaction index was considered as a marketing performance measuring tool for digital channel. Research design, data, and methodology - As systematic understanding for Digital marketing is still unfamiliar to even professional marketer, the hypothesis was established based on preliminary research by conducting a qualitative survey of marketing experts who already experienced digital marketing in the fields as well as existing related study literature. Through a preliminary research, the degree for understanding for digital marketing, current digital marketing (including product/channel mix) execution status, and difficulties for marketers who had experienced digital marketing were figured out. Based on preliminary research, the main part of survey was designed to examine which type of product would be effective for digital marketing and which digital channel would be effective to achieve marketing performance in line with marketing objectives. To collect data, the questionnaire survey was conducted for professional marketers who had experienced digital marketing in 10 different fields including FMCG, cosmetics, distribution industry for one month (July, 10, 2014~Aug, 10, 2014). A total of 90 questionnaire were distributed and 66 questionnaires were used for the analysis, excluding the unanswered and insincere questionnaires. The data were analysed using SPSS ver.18.0. Results - The analysis for product type which is pertinent to digital marketing and prioritization for digital channel per digital marketing performance type could be summarized as followings. First, high involvement buying decision type of product and rational purchasing decision type of product in FCB grid are more effective for digital marketing in terms of marketing performance. Therefore, marketers in field would prioritize considering product type before executing digital marketing. Second, factor for sales increase, potential consumer creation and brand awareness was represented respectively 31.25%, 21.9%, and 20.8% as a result of factor analysis in terms of digital marketing channel performance. Third, effective major digital channel per digital marketing performance factor was differently identified as each digital channel has its own peculiarity. For instance, search engine is more effective for increasing sales while social media such as facebook and Kakaotalk is more effective for encouraging consumer participation. Conclusions - As a result of this study, product type and peculiarity which were pertinently fit to digital marketing were identified by using FCB grid model, and also suggested framework for decision making of digital channel selection in line with marketing objectives for effective marketing performance. It also provided insight to professional marketer which type of product could be effective for digital marketing execution as well as which factors should be measured for digital marketing performance.

The Effect of Population-Level Learning on Entry Likelihood in the Mobile Game Industry

  • Population-level learning has traditionally been used to provide an explanation for the underlying mechanism of industry change. But it has yet to examine the impact on strategic decisions such as market entry. This conceptual paper aims to provide an insight into how population-level learning affects entry likelihood by acting as a tool for interpreting population-level changes. We study this in the context of the fast-paced mobile gaming industry where population-level information is salient and develop a set of propositions with regard to the likelihood of entry.

  • 산업의 융합화 추세는 IT서비스 산업이 복잡한 서비스 시스템 통합과 더불어, 제품과 서비스의 융/복합화를 위한 PSS(Product Service System) 구현에 많은 노력을 요구하는 동인으로 작용하고 있다. 이는 제품의 서비스화(product servicize)와 서비스의 제품화(service productize) 현상의 가속화로 인해 제품과 서비스의 구분이 모호해지고 있는 산업변화에 대응하려는 산업의 노력으로 판단된다. 고객 가치 향상을 위해 IT서비스 제조산업(IT Service manufacturing)에서는 제품과 서비스의 모호한 경계를 극복하고, 서비스중심의 신규 IT서비스를 개발할 수 있는 무형의 프로세스 정립이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 서비스 사이언스 측면에서 제공되는 기법들(PSS, NPD, NSD, UCD, Contingency theory)을 검토하여, IT서비스 제조산업의 특성이 반영된 마케팅 지원 process tool을 개발하는 데에 목적이 있다. 제안된 tool은 목표시장 및 기술환경의 분석과 동시에 IT서비스 제품 분석을 통해 IT서비스 사업 마케팅 기회를 전략적으로 탐색할 수 있는 도구가 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 기업의 문화 예술 지원은 메세나 운동으로부터 시작되었고 이후에는 소비자의 문화욕구를 만족시키고 기업의 이미지를 향상시키며 시대의 요구와 변화로서 기업의 활동을 증가시키는 문화마케팅으로 변화되었다. 그러므로 많은 기업들은 다양한 영역에서 문화마케팅 활동을 발전시키고 있다. 특히 아트마케팅은 예술 활동에 대한 관심과 기대치를 올리고 생산품에 대한 비판적인 관점과 삶의 기준을 높이는 역할로 인해 중요한 업무가 되었다. 그러므로 기업은 전략적 차원과 공공복지에 기여하는 차원에 따르는 이미지 마케팅 활동으로서 자사건물이나 별도의 공간에 전시공간을 제공해 예술과 관련된 다양한 전시, 스폰서, 교육 프로그램을 제공한다. 본 논문은 문화마케팅의 개념, 기업의 문화 예술 지원현황 및 아트 마케팅의 개념과 유형을 분류한다. 동시에 문화마케팅 수단으로서 기업 미술관의 전시공간의 유형을 분류하고 프로그램의 분석을 통해 기업 미술관의 특성 및 유형을 파악한다.
