질소시비수준에 따른 국내 주요 벼 품종의 수량 및 품질 반응 (Response of Yield and Quality in Major Domestic Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Varieties according to the Nitrogen Application Levels)

  • 우리나라 주요 재배 벼 품종의 고품질 쌀 생산을 위한 최적 질소 시비량을 제시하기 위하여, 우리나라 주요 벼 21품종을 공시하여 질소 시비량에 따른 수량과 품질변화를 검토한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 3년간 평균수량은 표준 질소 시비량 9 kg/10a으로 재배했을 때와 비교하여 질소 시비량 0, 3, 5, 7 kg/10a으로 재배했을 때 각각 28%, 22%, 11%, 8% 감소하였으며, 수량성과 질소 시비량 감소에 따른 수량 감소 경향은 품종별로 차이가 있었다. 2. 주당수수는 질소 시비량이 증가함에 따라 증가하였으나, 수랑립수와 천립중에는 큰 변화가 없었고, 수당립수는 다른 수량구성요소에 비해 상대적으로 연차변이가 적었으며, 질소 시비량에 따른 수량구성요소의 변화는 품종의 유전적 특성에 따라 큰 차이를 나타내었다. 3. 완전미율은 질소 시비량의 증가에 큰 영향을 받지 않고 어느 정도 일정하게 유지되는 경향을 나타내었고, 싸라기 비율은 약간 감소하였으며, 분상질립은 증가하였다. 4. 쌀의 단백질 함량은 2018과 2019년의 경우 질소 시비량이 증가할수록 감소하다가 질소 시비량 7 kg/10a에서 가장 낮았고, 9 kg/10a에서 다시 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으나, 2020년의 경우 질소 시비량이 증가함에 따라 지속적으로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 5. 품종별로 표준 질소 시비량 9 kg/10a에서 시험기간 중 2회 이상 쌀 단백질 함량 6.0%를 초과한 품종은 해담 등 13품종으로 이중 질소 시비량을 7 kg/10a으로 감비하여 재배한 경우, 시험기간 중 2회 이상 쌀 단백질 함량이 6.0%이하로 낮아진 품종은 해담, 진수미, 호품, 호평, 현품, 새누리, 영호진미 등 7품종이었다.

원격 로봇작업을 위한 실시간 수박 형상 추출 알고리즘 (Development of Real Time and Robust Feature Extraction Algorithm of Watermelon for Tele-robotic Operation)

  • Real time and robust algorithm to extract the features of watermelon was developed from the remotely transmitted image of the watermelon. Features of the watermelon at the cultivation site such as size and shape including position are crucial to the successful tole-robotic operation and development of the cultivation data base. Algorithm was developed based on the concept of task sharing between the computer and the operator utilizing man-computer interface. Task sharing was performed based on the functional characteristics of human and computer. Identifying watermelon from the image transmitted from the cultivation site is very difficult because of the variable light condition and the complex image contents such as soil, mulching vinyl, straws on the ground, irregular leaves and stems. Utilizing operator's teaching through the touch screen mounted on the image monitor, the complex time consuming image processing process and instability of processing results in the watermelon identification has been avoided. Color and brightness characteristics were analyzed from the image area specified by the operator's teaching. Watermelon segmentation was performed using the brightness and color distribution of the specified imae processing area. Modified general Hough transform was developed to extract the shape, major and minor axes, and the position, of the watermelon. It took less than 100 msec of the image processing time, and was a lot faster than conventional approach. The proposed method showed the robustness and practicability in identifying watermelon from the wireless transmitted color image of the cultivation site.

Socio-economic and Environmental Impact Assessment in Agricultural Cultivation, Case Studies in Rice Cultivation and Shrimp Farming in the Mekong River Delta, Vietnam

  • This paper provides two case studies of environmental impacts with socio-economic values. The first case is on flood protection levees conducted from 2003 to 2004 in Phu Tan district, An Giang province. The impacts were found by comparing full flood protection levees area (FFPL) to non-full flood protection levees area (NFFPL). Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) tools per each group of rich, middle, and poor people were used to list the impacts. Then, major impacts were selected by ranking and interviewing 60 households per site, and assessed by Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) in rice production from 1996 to 2002 between two areas. The tested research indicated moving system of NFFPL to that of FFPL lost about 11 million VND/ha/year. The second case is on impacts of Penaeid shrimp farming conducted in Duyen Hai District, Tra Vinh Province in 2004-2005. Ninety households and 12 local officials were interviewed. Four PRAs were conducted and 36 water samples were taken inside and outside shrimp pond to measure values of DO, COD, Fe total, TSS, N-$NO_3{^-}$, N-$NH_4{^+}$, P-$PO{_4}^{3-}$, and Chlorophyll-a. Research results showed only 36.7% of the households got profit from shrimp farming. Highest financial efficiency was 0.72 for the semi-intensive system. Tested water indicators showed surface water quality did not match Vietnamese standard for surface water in coastal area (TCVN 5943-1995) and in rain. The water was very muddy and contaminated by organic aluminum. Summarily, the impacts were clarified more obviously via adding socio-economic values to assessment. Importantly, the values were transformed to household's income which is an indicator for policy-makers to consider the impacts obviously. Besides, data of different group of people impacted are cases contributing to consideration of the impacts in an appropriate social level.

약용작물주산지(藥用作物主産地)의 생산실태(生産實態)와 금후대책(今後對策) (Status and Future Measure on Production of Medicinal Crops in the Major Cultivation Area)

  • 주산지(主産地)의 약용작물(藥用作物) 재배(栽培) 및 생산(生産) 실태(實態)와 문제점(問題點)을 파악하기 위하여 전국(全國) 66개소에서 초본류(草本類) 18종(種), 목본류(木本類) 5종(種)의 약초(藥草)를 대상으로 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 약용작물(藥用作物) 종자(種子)나 종묘(種苗)를 자가채종(自家採種) 또는 인근(隣近) 농가(農家)에서 구입(購入)하는 농가가 전체의 82%로 그 지방(地方)의 재내종(在來種)이 이용되고 있었다. 2. 1시비실태(施肥實態)는 화학비료(化學肥料)보다 유기질비료(有機質肥料) 시용(施用)이 많았으며 이중 퇴비사용농가 60.7%, 유기물(有機物)을 사용하지 않는 농가도 34.8%로 나타냈다. 한편 화학비료별로는 복합비료(復合肥料) 시용(施用)이 51.5%, 요소단용(尿素單用)이 40.9%였다. 3. 주산단지(主産團地)의 약용작물(藥用作物)중 병충해(炳蟲害)에 강한 작물은 미나리과(科)의 강활(羌活), 당귀(當歸), 방풍(防風), 시호(柴浩)와 독활(獨活), 황정(黃精), 두충(杜沖)이었고 주요해충(主要害蟲)은 응애, 진딧물, 조명나방, 굼댕이, 고자리 파리,거세미 등이고 주요병(主要病)은 흰가루병 갈반병, 잎마름병, 뿌썩음병 등이었다. 4. 작물별(作物別) 지역간(地域間) 재배(栽培), 생산(生産)과 소득(所得)은 파종기(播種期), 식재(植栽)거리, 수확년수(收穫年數), 판매방법(販賣方法)에 파라 차이(差異)가 크게 나타났으며 10a당(當) 조수익(祖收益)은 적은 농가 312천원에 비해 많은 농가는 11.3배(倍)의 소득(所得)을 보였다.

단기소득임산물 재배 소득분석 - 주요 수실류를 중심으로 - (Analysis of Standard Income Regarding the Cultivation of Non-Timber Forest Products - Focused on major nuts and fruits -)

  • 본 연구는 은행, 머루, 다래, 복분자, 산딸기 등 주요 수실류에 대한 재배공정을 조사하여 소득을 분석함으로써 임산물 손실에 대한 보상 기준 및 임업경영진단 등을 위한 합리적인 정책수립에 필요한 기초자료 제공을 목적으로 하였다. 조사결과, 품목별 재배형태는 크게 노지재배와 산지재배로 구분되었다. 품목별 단위면적당($3.3m^2$) 연간 평균소득은 은행 노지재배가 1,060원, 은행 산지재배가 618원, 머루 노지재배가 5,891원, 다래 산지재배가 8,113원, 복분자 노지재배가 14,701원, 산딸기 노지재배가 17,482원 수준으로 복분자와 산딸기의 연간 평균 소득이 타 품목에 비해 매우 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 특히, 산딸기의 경우 생산이 식재 후 2년차부터 이루어진다는 점과 수확작업 시 많은 노동력을 자가노동에 의존하고 있어 고용노동 비용 지출이 적은 것으로 분석되었다. 그리고 대부분의 수실류 재배 시 시설비, 묘목 등 초기 투자비용이 경영비에서 차지하는 비중이 평균 30% 내외로 높은 것으로 분석되어 재배 활성화를 위해 정부의 적절한 지원이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

MODIS NDVI와 기상요인을 고려한 마늘·양파 주산단지 단수예측 모형 개발 (Development of Garlic & Onion Yield Prediction Model on Major Cultivation Regions Considering MODIS NDVI and Meteorological Elements)

  • 마늘과 양파 재배는 작물의 생육 조건과 주산지 기상에 영향을 받는다. 따라서 단수를 예측할 때에는 주산지의 작황과 기상을 고려할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 2006년에서 2015년까지의 작물의 생육 조건을 반영한 MODIS NDVI와 7개 주산지의 기상요인을 다중 회귀 모형에 적용하여 주산지별 마늘 및 양파의 단수예측 모형을 개발하였다. 다중 회귀 모형에서 독립변수 채택은 단계적 선택방법을 이용하였다. 그 결과, 마늘과 양파 단수예측 모형은 2월의 MODIS NDVI가 중요한 독립변수로 채택되었다. 기상요인은 마늘의 경우, 평균온도(3월), 강우량(11월, 3월), 상대습도(4월), 최저온도(6월)가 채택되었으며, 양파는 강우량(11월), 일조시간(1월), 상대습도(4월), 최저온도(6월)가 독립변수로 채택되었다. MODIS NDVI와 기상요인을 이용한 단수예측 모형은 주산지별 마늘, 양파 평균 단수의 84.4%, 75.9% 설명력을 나타내었으며, RMSE는 각각 42.57 kg/10a, 340.29 kg/10a로 나타났다. 따라서 본 모형은 MODIS NDVI와 기상요인에 따른 마늘과 양파의 단수 변화특성을 잘 반영하고 있는 것으로 판단된다.

식량 안정생산기술의 전망 (Prospects of Stable Production Technologies for Food Crops)

  • The major problems of food crop cultivation in Korea are low yield of most crops except rice. inefficient cultivation techniques for aged farmers. and low international competibility. Therefore, development of cultivation techniques of food crops should aim the yield. quality improvement, labor reduction and production cost. The primary issue for increasing the yield of soybean, barely and wheat is to reduce the yield gap between the farmer's yield and recommended ones of experiment station. More advanced cultivation techniques needs to be developed. and/or the conventional breeding methods to be reconsidered. The newly developed labor-saving mechanized technique needs to reduce labor hours , and the cost of agricultural implements and machineries. In other words the labor-saving mechanized technique should be developed based on the improvement of total farming system as well as systemic fundamental innovation of cultural methods. The efficiency of solar energy use in food production of Korea in 1997 is as low as $0.52{\%}$ so there is much room to increase yield. It is recommendable that the concept of food Production should be changed to energy Producing efficiency Per unit area basis from volume and weight of food materials. Moreover, introduction of resonable cropping system is needed to increase yield of main crops, farmer's income, solar energy use efficiency, and decrease of land service expenditure. Current cropping system emphasized on economic crops. especially in vegetables , is not desirable for resonable use of arable land. stability of agricultural management and staple food crop self-sufficiency ratio. It is desirable to increase food crops . that are energy of carbohydrate and protein rich and land dependent crops. in cropping system. And the agronomist should develop the cultural methods to replace food crops for food self-sufficiency and stable farming management instead of economic crops in current cropping system. Low-input and environmentally-sound crop cultivation techniques, especially nitrogen-reducing culture technique which is directly related to food crop quality, also needs to be developed urgently. The extended cultivation of corn in upland and barely and wheat in lowland as a feed stuffs is recommended to prevent further decrease of food self-sufficiency ratio, which is mainly caused by the high reliance on imported feed grain. It is also considered that the calculation and presentation methods of standard agricultural income needs to be improved. The current calculation method uses unit land area of 10a regardless of crop kinds , characteristics of agricultural management and cultivation scale. So, it is apt to lead misunderstanding of farm income value. Therefore. it should show an income of average farmers for certain number of years. Research and developing system for food producing is not desirable because they are conducted currently individual crop and mono-culture basis. But actual agricultural income is usually earned by cropping system including upland and lowland. For example. the barley and wheat is usually cultivated in double cropping system. The cooperation among research institutes such as university agribusiness. government and farmers is indispensible. The public information and education on importance and consumption habit of food crops is necessary in Korean society to increase food self-sufficiency through nationwide cooperation.

Drone 영상을 이용한 논 필지 볏짚 환원-동계 재배 확인 및 CH4 배출량 산정 (Estimation of Paddy CH4 Emissions through Drone-Image-Based Identification of Paddy Rice Straw Application & Winter Crop Cultivation)

  • Rice straw management and winter crop cultivation are crucial components for the accurate estimation of paddy methane emissions. Field-based extensive investigation of paddy organic matter management requires enormous efforts however it becomes more feasible as drone technology advances. The objectives of this study were to identify paddy fields of straw application and winter crop cultivation using drone images and to apply for the estimation of yearly methane emission. Total 35 sites of over 150ha in area were selected nationwide as the study areas. Drone images of the study sites were taken twice during summer and winter in 2018 through 2019: Summer images were used to identify paddy cultivation areas, while winter images for straw and winter crop practices. Drone-image-based identification results were used to estimate paddy methane emission and compared with conventional method. As the result, mean areas for paddy, straw application and winter crop cultivation were 118.9ha, 12.0ha, and 11.3ha, respectively. Overall rice straw application rate were greater in Gyeonggi-do(20%) and Chungcheongnam-do(12%), while winter crop cultivation was greatest in Gyeongsangnam-do(30%) and Jeolla-do(27%). Yearly mean methane emission was estimated to be 226.2kg CH4/ha/yr in this study and about 32% less when compared to 331.8kg CH4/ha/yr estimated with the conventional method. This was primarily because of the lower rice straw application rate observed in this study, which was less than quarter the rate of 55.62% used for the conventional method. This indicates the necessity to use more accurate statistics of rice straw application as well as winter crop practices into paddy methane emission estimation. Thus it is recommended to further study to link drone technology with satellite image analysis in order to identify organic management practices at a paddy field level over extensive agricultural area.

미얀마 주요 농산물의 생산 및 수출입 동향 분석 (Analysis of Production and Trade of Agro-products in Myanmar)

  • 미얀마는 국토면적 676,577km2로 한반도 전체 면적의 3배에 달하여, 동남아시아 대륙 국가 중에서는 가장 큰 국가이다. 이러한 지형을 바탕으로 남북 및 동서로 다양한 기후대가 나타나 특유의 농업생태환경이 조성되어 있다. 미얀마에서 농업은 가장 중요한 산업이며 그중 벼농사가 차지하는 비중이 제일 크다. 쌀 생산량은 꾸준히 증가하여 최근 2009/10년도 약 3268만 톤 생산되었다. 최근 미얀마에서 가장 많이 수출되는 품목은 콩이며, 그 중 생산량이 가장 많은 Black gram은 2009/10년도 약 151만 톤 생산되었다. 주요 생산하고 있는 기타 작물로는 밀, 옥수수, 수수가 있으며 밀과 옥수수의 재배면적과 생산량은 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 미얀마에서 중요한 농산물중 하나인 참깨는 유료작물 중 가장 넓은 면적에 재배되어지고 있으며 미얀마의 주요 수출입국으로는 태국, 인도, 중국 등이다.
