  • The object of the present paper is to obtain a more general condition for univalence of analytic functions in the open unit disk U. The significant relationships and relevance with other results are also given. A number of known univalent conditions would follow upon specializing the parameters involved in our main results.

  • Ionic liquids (ILs) are collecting keen interests as an advanced substituent of electrolyte solution as well as novel solvents. In the present talk, I will introduce some strategies to fix IL structure on polymer chains to prepare polar polymers with low glass transition temperature. Namely, cationic, anionic, and zwitterionic monomers have been prepared, and they have been homopolymerized or copolymerized to prepare polymer electrolytes with different properties. The polymers themselves showed very poor ionic conductivity, but it was improved by suitable spacer between charged site and main chain. Other unique characteristics of functional ILs and new polymerized ionic liquids will also be mentioned.

  • Polyurethane are used for a wide range of commercial applications such as adhesives or coatings for various substrates including textile fabric, plastic, wood, glass fiber, and metals. The types of polyurethane ionomers have been reported according to the ionic charges on the polymer main chain, i.e. anionomer, cationomer, and zwitterconomers. (omitted)

  • We propose a method where interaction energies and force components are calculated separately for each residue of biomolecules. It is found that the correlation factors obtained from the analysis of five types of force terms and one interaction energy term (main chain self-energy) can be used to predict a mutants free energy difference relative to wild type.(omitted)

  • Dynamic analysis is important in structural design of SCARA or articulated type industrial robots and is' usually done to main three axes. In this paper, robot arm dynamics was analyzed using FBD(free body diagram). Though the proposed scheme becomes complex as DOF(degree of freedom)increases, it allows to see types and directions of forces and moments acting on the body. Therefore, the strength analysis of robot arm can be done relatively easy in a case of either closed or open loop chain. This method can be used for obtaining dynamic simulation at off-line programming system and calculating required torques at joints at on-line system.

  • Many scientific approaches have been developed for the preparation of alternative crosslinker system of amino resins and isocyanate prepolymers. Herein, copolymerization of trimethoxy silane with N-butoxymethyl acrylamide was performed, and the product was reacted with hydroxyl groups in the alkyl main chain without the need for an additional crosslinker. For the crosslinker synthesized herein, the molecular weight, glass transition temperature, and viscosity increased with increasing content of N-butoxymethyl acrylamide.

  • This paper deals with an analysis and countermeasure of escalator vibration. The vibration characteristics of escalators are studied theoretically and experimentally to find the main cause of severe vibration. The main source of vibration in escalators is found to be chordal effect due to the step chain and sprocket system. It is also found that the vibration become significantly large at so called no load condition, in which the load due to passengers, during down-moving, is equal to the resistive force in the driving system. Dynamic absorbers are implemented to suppress the vibration. A theoretical analysis is made to determine the appropriate dynamic absorber. Theoretical and experimental study shows that dynamic absorber is effective to suppress the vibration in escalators.

  • After a work of Derman and Ross(1997) that considered simple main runs rules and derived ARL (Average Run Length) using Markov chain modeling, $\bar{X}$ control chart based on diverse alternative main and supplementary runs rules that is the most popular control chart for monitoring the mean of a process are proposed. This paper reviews and discusses the-state-of-art researches for these runs rules and classifies according to several properties of runs rules. ARL derivation for a proposed runs rule is also illustrated.

  • Chitosan, an unbranched (1-4)-linked-2-amino-2-deoxy-$\beta$-D-glucan, is prepared by chemical N-deacetylation of chitin, which is the main structure element of the cuticles of crab, shrimp, and insects, and is found in the cell walls of bacteria. It has the same main chain in its molecule like that of natural heparin. Heparin, an anionic polysaccharide, is the best of anticoagulants that have been found so far. In this study, to improve the blood compatibility of chitosan, 2-(methacrylovloxy)-ethyl-2-(trimethylammonium)ethyl phosphate(MTP) with phospholipid polar groups was grafted on the chitosan membranes and the biochemical properties the MTP-grafted chitosan membranes were investigated.
