  • After Ba-ferrite powders synthesized hydrothermally and its heated powders were dissolved partially with HCl treatment time, the BaO/Fe2O3 mole ratio of dissolved solutions and powders were measured by AAS, also, lattice constants, particle morphology and magnetic properties in HCl treated, heated and no-heated Ba-ferrite powders were abtained by means of XRD, SEM and VSM, respectively. From above analysis results, the effect of Ba/Fe mole ration in suspension(as starting material) on the BaO/Fe2O3 composition and particle characteristics of products were investigated, and the effect of heat treatment on magnetic properties of products examined. The composition, lattice constant and crystal phase of products depend on the Ba/Fe mole ratio in suspension. Ba content in surface or outer part of Ba-ferrite powder is higher than inner and heterogeneous, and the excess Ba ions in the inner part of particle move into the outer by heating, so that the mole ratio of BaO/Fe2O3 in the more jinner approaches more to the stoichiometric composition 1 : 6. The crystallinity, coercivity and saturation magnetization of products are increased by heat treatment, and the heat-treated samples synthesized hydrothermally in lower temperature are appreciated to have better powder characteristics.

  • The attempt for the addition of double-phase nanocomposite $Nd_2Fe_{14}BFe_3B$ powders, respectively, into several $RE_2Fe_{14}B$(RE=Pr, Nd) powders with high magnetic properties was carried out. The powders were compounded and compressed to take shape bonded magnets. By means of investigating the variation of compound magnet $B_r$, the interaction between magnetic powders was revealed. The result shows that not chemical just but physical interaction exists between elements. The compound effect of $Nd_2Fe_{14}BFe_3B$-ferrite bonded magnets was detailed studied. The functional relation was revealed between magnetic properties and ferrite content. That is $Y = 5.42 x^2 -11.34x + 6.62$. The variation of $_iH_c$ temperature coefficient ${\beta}_{iHc}$ with ferrite content was investigated. Following the ferrite content increased, ${\beta}_{iHc}$ and $h_{irr}$ were obviously decreased, compression-resistant strength was enhanced.

  • The phosphate coating on the $(Fe_{0.97}Cr_{0.03})_{76}(Si_{0.5}B_{0.5})_{22}C_2$ amorphous powders with an average size of 10 ${\mu}m$ in diameter has been carried out in aqueous 1.0-2.0 wt% $H_3PO_4$ solutions, and the consolidation behavior and magnetic properties of their compressed powder cores has been investigated. The phosphate coating could provide efficient electrical insulation between amorphous powders and improved consolidation ability at room temperature. Especially when the powders were treated in more concentrated phosphoric acid solution, enhanced phosphate covering and higher frequency/dc-bias stability were achieved. The powder cores phosphate-coated in 2.0 wt% $H_3PO_4$ solution exhibited constant permeability of 21 up to 10 MHz, 110 of the quality factor at 0.9 MHz, 610 mW/cm3 core loss at 100 kHz/0.1 T and 89 of percent permeability at 100 kHz.

  • A study was made on the fabrication of nanostructured Fe-Co powders by mechanical alloying and their magnetic properties. Microstrural development during the process of MA was inverstigated by means of X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analyzer, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The magnetic properties of NS Fe-Co powders were evaluated through the measurements of the saturation magnetization $(M_s)$ as well as the coercivity $(H_c)$. The average grain size calculated from line braodening in XRD peak was about 10nm or less and confirmed by TEM. In this experiment, two different milling methods (cycle opertion and conventional milling) were used. Cycle operation had an advantage over the conventional milling method in that more refined powders can be obtained. Solid state alloying of the components was confirmed from both the change of the saturation magnetization and the change of lattice parameter with Co contentration. Maxium $M_s$ was obtained at the composition of 30at.%Co. Relatively high coercivities of 10~150e were obtained for the compositions investigated, and this seems to be due to the high amount of internal strain introduced during milling.

  • Preparation of the hexagonal Sr-ferrite powsers with high performance by co-spraying precusor of the FeCl$_2$+SrCO$_3$ at a low temperature was proved as a cost =-effective method. The co-spray roasting was carried out in the temperature range of 300~$700^{\circ}C$ after SrCO$_3$ powders were mixed into 12FeCi$_2$.4$H_2O$ liquor. By this low temperature roasting method fine particles of multi-phased FeO$_2$+SrCO$_3$ were formulated. Powders calcined at 105$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour show the best magnetic property of M\ulcorner=69.96 emu/g, M\ulcorner=36.98 emu/g, and \ulcornerH\ulcorner=4.31 Oe. This calcining temperature is lower than that of the conventional dry method by 10$0^{\circ}C$.

  • The materials showing high structure dispersity are developed on the quartz base and they are obtained by mechano-chemical technology. Depending on the processing conditions and subsequent applications the materials produced by mechano-chemical reaction show concurrently magnetic, dielectric and electrical properties. The obtained magnetic-electrical powders classified by aggregate complex of their features as segnetomagnetics, contain a dielectric material as a canγing nucleus, particularly the quartz on that surface one or more layers of different compounds are synthesized having thickness up to 10~50 nm and showing magnetic, electrical and other properties.

  • The effect of additives on the orientation of magnetic Sr-ferrite powders has been studied during powder injection molding under applied magnetic field for fabricating multi-pole anisotropic sintered Sr-ferrite magnets. The orientation of the Sr-ferrite powders depends sensitively on the fluidity of powder-binder mixture, related to the binder additives and the injection molding temperature, and the magnetic field intensity. The orientation of Sr-ferrite powders is good for the compacts with stearic acid added in the binder system of paraffin wax/carnauba wax/HDPE, but it is poor for the compacts with silane coupling agent added. The orientation of Sr-ferrites higher than 80% is achieved at the following useful conditions; apparent viscosity lower than 2500 poise in 1000 sec$^{-1}$ shear rate and applied magnetic field higher than 4 kOe.

  • In this study the (Alnico, Sm-Co) bonded magnets were fabricated by mixing the Sm-Co added alnico alloy powders with epoxy resin and binder, appropriately. Also, the hybrid ring magnets of (Alnico, Sm-Co)/Sr-ferrite were fabricated by coupling the Sr-ferrite composite layer with an (Alnico, Sm-Co) magnet. The magnetic properties of (Alnico, Sm-Co) ring magnets were varied with the amount of Sm-Co powders. The addition of Sm-Co powders increased a remanent induction($B_r$) and coercive force($_BH_C$), while decreasing a surface flux density and repulsive distance. The surface flux density and repulsive distance for the (Alnico, Sm-Co) ring magnet increased with a magnetizing voltage up to about 160 V and reached an apparent saturation point. Also, the measurements of temperature and moisture characteristics showed that the surface flux densities of N-S poles and repulsive distance decreased a little within 4% after 10 days passed.

  • Multi-pole anisotropic Sr-ferrite sintered magnets has been studied by powder injection molding under applied magnetic field. The orientation of anisotropic Sr-ferrite powders higher than 80% during injection molding is achieved at the following conditions; apparent viscosity lower then 2500 poise in 1000 $sec^{-1}$ shear rate and applied magnetic field higher then 4 kOe. For the high fluidity and strength of injection molded compact, and the effective binder removal without defects during solvent extraction and thermal debinding, the optimum multi-binder composition is paraffin wax(PW)/carnauba wax(CW)/HDPE = 50/25/25 wt%. The rate of binder removal is proportional to the mean particle size of Sr-ferrite powders whereas it is inversely proportional to the content of Sr-ferrite powders and the sample thickness. The high magnetic properties of Sr-ferrite sintered magnets are; 3.8 kG of remanent flux density, 3.4 kOe of intrinsic coercivity, and 1.2 kG of surface flux density (l-mm-thick) in the direction of applied magnetic field.
