Plane wave scattering from a spherical resonator is calculated by solving the combined field integral equation (CFIE) with Rao-Wilton-Glisson (RWG) basis functions and the moment method. The calculations show that magnetic and electric dipoles are found at resonant modes. These characteristics are confirmed by radiation patterns in the far field region. In addition, an analysis of a magnetodielectric sphere is discussed.
In this paper, I propose the algorithm that the location of a magnetic dipole can be detected from the magnetic gradient tensor. I induce the location vector of a vertically magnetizated dipole from the magnetic gradient tensor. Deficit of magnetic moment of magnetic dipole makes the induced location information incomplete. However, if the observation of magnetic gradient tensor would be collected on more points, the algorithm is able to catch the location of the magnetic dipole by clustering the solution of the proposed algorithm. For example, I show that the synthetic case of borehole observation of magnetic gradient tensor can find the source location successively by picking common solution area.

In order to predict depth of the pile forward modeling and inversion of magnetic logging data was conducted by using a finite line of dipoles model. The horizontal component as well as the vertical component of magnetic fields can be measured in the borehole, and the magnetic anomalies can be obtained by subtracting the Earth's magnetic field from the measurement. The magnetic anomalies of the pile are considered as vector sum of induced magnetization due to the Earth's magnetic field and remnant magnetization possessed by steel strings in the pile. The magnetic anomalies are used as input data for inversion from which the length, the magnetic moment per unit length, and the dip angle of the pile can be obtained. From the inversion of synthetic noisy data, and the data obtained from the field model test it is found that the driving depth of the pile can be determined as close to the order of measuring interval (5∼10㎝). It is also found that the resultant magnetic anomalies due to an individual steel string in the pile are almost same as those due to a group of steel strings located at the center of the pile. The magnetic logging method also can be used for locating reinforced bars, pipes, and steel casings.

CubeSat is a satellite platform that is widely used not only for earth observation but also for space exploration. CubeSat is also used in magnetic field investigation missions to observe space physics phenomena with various shape configurations of magnetometer instrument unit. In case of magnetic field measurement, the magnetometer instrument should be far away from the satellite body to minimize the magnetic disturbances from satellites. But the accommodation setting of the magnetometer instrument is limited due to the volume constraint of small satellites like a CubeSat. In this paper, we investigated that the magnetic field interference generated by the cube satellite was analyzed how much it can affect the reliability of magnetic field measurement. For this analysis, we used a reaction wheel and Torque rods which have relatively high-power consumption as major noise sources. The magnetic dipole moment of these parts was derived by the data sheet of the manufacturer. We have been confirmed that the effect of the residual moment of the magnetic torque located in the middle of the 3U cube satellite can reach 36,000 nT from the outermost end of the body of the CubeSat in a space without an external magnetic field. In the case of accurate magnetic field measurements of less than 1 nT, we found that the magnetometer should be at least 0.6 m away from the CubeSat body. We expect that this analysis method will be an important role of a magnetic cleanliness analysis when designing a CubeSat to carry out a magnetic field measurement.

This paper investigates on the performance of liquid magnetic compass measuring the concomitant angle of the directional system by the kind of compass and the coefficiant of viscosity of the liquid of ones in accordance with the turning angular velocity of the compass bowl in artificial horizontal magnetic fields. The obtained results are as follows; 1. The concomitant angle is to be in proportion to the coefficiant of viscosity of the liquid of compass and the turning angular velocity of the compass bowl, but ones is to be in contrary proportion to the magnetic moment of the magnetic needle and the horizontal geomagnetic. 2. The overdevelopment of the concomitant angle keeps on regularly at any optional degree in the turning angular velocity over$\pi$ radian per minute, but varies periodically at 180 degree below 3 $\pi$ radian per minute.

The injection of spins into nonmagnetic semiconductors has recently attracted great interest due to the potential to create new classes of spin-dependent electronic devices. A recent strategy to achieve control over the spin degree of freedom is based on dilute ferromagnetic semiconductors. Ferromagnetism has been reported in various semiconductor groups including II-Ⅵ, III-V, IV and II-IV,-V$_2$, which will be reviewed. On the other hand, to date the low solubility of magnetic ions in non-magnetic semiconductor hosts and/or low Curie temperature have limited the opportunities. Therefore the search for other promising ferromagnetic semiconducting materials, with high magnetic moments and high Curie temperatures (Tc), is of the utmost importance. In this talk, we also introduce new pure ferromagnetic semiconductors, MnGeP$_2$ and MnGeAs$_2$, exhibiting ferromagnetism and a magnetic moment per Mn at 5K larger than 2.40 ${\mu}$B. The calculated electronic structures using the FLAPW method show an indirect energy gap of 0.24 and 0.06 eV, respectively. We have observed spin injection in MnGeP$_2$ and MnGeAs$_2$ magnetic tunnel junctions through semiconducting barriers.

Based on first-principles calculations, we study the magnetic properties of Co, Ni, Fe, V, and Mn impurities in ZnO. The stabilities of the ferromagnetic state and the magnetic moment of each impurity largely depend on the amount of doped electron or hole. For lightly doped n-type ZnO, it is found that the doping of Ni ions is the most effective for inducing ferromagnetism, while Fe ions show the most stable ferromagnetic couplings for heavily doped n-type samples. The characteristics of the magnetic interactions of Co ions are similar with those of Fe ions, but Co ions require much larger amount of doped electron than Fe ions to show the ferromagnetic couplings. The ferromagnetic coupling between Mn and V ions is unstable in n-type conditions.
The interaction between the magnetic field and the accreting matter in the magnetic compact star has taken into account in order to find some constraints between physical paramerters in these systems. We show that the interaction radius, where the matter begins to funnel in the magnetosphere, can be described as a function of the magnetic moment acctetion rate and the width of the interaction zone. This radius, after estimated iteratively for a given parameter set has been used in order to study the radiation of X-rays in the magnetic compact star. Some results of such study in context with the interaction radius in the intermediate polar have been discussed.
This study examined the effect of various types of epitaxial strain on the magnetic properties of $SrRuO_3$ thin films. Epitaxial $SrTiO_3$ (001), $SrTiO_3$ (110), and $SrTiO_3$ (111) substrates were used to apply different crystal symmetries to the grown films. The films were grown using pulsed laser deposition. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the films grown under optimum conditions showed very clear peaks for the $SrRuO_3$ film and $SrTiO_3$ substrates. The saturated magnetic moment at 5 K after 7 Tesla field cooling was $1.2-1.4\;{\mu}_B$/Ru. The magnetic easy axis for all three types of films was along the surface normal. The magnetic transition temperature for the $SrRuO_3$ film with lower symmetry was slightly larger than the $SrRuO_3$ film with higher symmetry.
The magnetic properties of amorphous Fe were investigated by examining the electronic structures of structurally disordered Fe systems generated from crystalline bcc and fcc Fe using a Monte-Carlo simulation. As a rst principles band method, the real space spin-polarized tight-binding linearized-mun-tin-orbital recursion method was used in the local spin density approximation. Compared to the crystalline system, the electronic structures of the disordered systems were characterized by a broadened band width, smoothened local density of states, and reduced local magnetic moment. The magnetic structures depend on the short range configurations. The antiferromagnetic structure is the most stable for a bcc-based disordered system, whereas the noncollinear spin spiral structure is more stable for a fcc-based system.
