A Study on Optimization for Static Characteristics Analysis of Gantry-Type Machining Centers (문형머시닝센터의 구조해석을 통한 최적화에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, as the demand for high efficiency, multi-function machine tools has increased, domestic machine tool industries are investing in research and development for Gantry-Type Machining centers. In this thesis, for the purpose of evaluating machining accuracy and designing a machine tool structure, a simplified model of the main frame is suggested. The results show the general characteristics of the optimum design, and the approach is shown as practicable for the preliminary design analysis and improvement of a conceptual design of a Gantry-Type Machining center. This paper's results are expected to improve the static characteristics of Gantry-Type Machine centers. The three-dimensional finite element models proved that the modeling method might be applied to real machine tool structures.

  • This study is concerned about the design and development of three dimensional bending machine. The purpose of this study is design and development of three-dimensional bending machine by analysis of bending process and structural analysis simulation. The analysis is carried out by FEM simulation using DEFORM and CATIA V5 software. Based on this study, the three dimensional bending machine was developed. In order to evaluate a performance and reliability of the developed three dimensional bending machine, we used laser interferometer and three axial measuring system.

  • Scientism is a kind of paradigm since the birth of Modernism. Architectural design was also effected from scientism in the 1st Machine age, and being effected still In the End Machine age. But many architects in the 2nd Machine age express scientism in architectural design as a "science for kick" as SF. The design of Rem Koolhaas follows the line of Modernism which was effected from scientism in many ways. However he shows modified machine aesthetics as SF pataphysics mixed with literary imagination, and now shows new science paradigm in post-modern age. He expresses many new science theory like indeterminacy theory, chaos, catastrophe theory in his works. And those are expressed as indeterminate program that proceeds in non-linear way, rhizome in space, order out of chaos, topological metamorphosis as a catastrophe. This study analyzes the expression of scientism in architectural design of Rem Koolhaas since 1970s.nce 1970s.

  • Many architects in the second machine age experiment on the movement in architectural design. They consider a movement as a flow of information and vector as well as the real motion. They express the movement in architectural design as nomad architecture, network city, rhizome, mutual transformation among building, environment and visitors, and form generation as the actualization of the virtual. It is partly the result of the philosophy of Deleuze and Bergson that a movement is just a duration as a difference of quality. It is because Deleuze explains that the realization of the virtual as a becoming is also the kind of movement. This study analyzes the method of expression of movement in architectural design in the second machine age. As a result, the movement in architectural design in the second machine age was expressed in two ways. One method is a territorialized movement that moves in the fixed trajectory and the other is a deterritorialized movement that moves in the random indeterminate trajectory.

Machine Learning Perspective Gene Optimization for Efficient Induction Machine Design

  • In this paper, induction machine operation efficiency and torque is improved using Machine Learning based Gene Optimization (ML-GO) Technique is introduced. Optimized Genetic Algorithm (OGA) is used to select the optimal induction machine data. In OGA, selection, crossover and mutation process is carried out to find the optimal electrical machine data for induction machine design. Initially, many number of induction machine data are given as input for OGA. Then, fitness value is calculated for all induction machine data to find whether the criterion is satisfied or not through fitness function (i.e., objective function such as starting to full load torque ratio, rotor current, power factor and maximum flux density of stator and rotor teeth). When the criterion is not satisfied, annealed selection approach in OGA is used to move the selection criteria from exploration to exploitation to attain the optimal solution (i.e., efficient machine data). After the selection process, two point crossovers is carried out to select two crossover points within a chromosomes (i.e., design variables) and then swaps two parent's chromosomes for producing two new offspring. Finally, Adaptive Levy Mutation is used in OGA to select any value in random manner and gets mutated to obtain the optimal value. This process gets iterated till finding the optimal value for induction machine design. Experimental evaluation of ML-GO technique is carried out with performance metrics such as torque, rotor current, induction machine operation efficiency and rotor power factor compared to the state-of-the-art works.

A Study on the Development of a High Speed Feeding Type Three-Dimensional Bending Machine (초고속 이송 방식 3차원 Bending Machine 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study has been focused on the development of a high speed feeding type three-dimensional bending machine. It is designed for manufacture of copper pipe for heat exchangers. For the purpose of design of the machine, analysis of bending process, structural analysis and reliability evaluation of the machine by a laser interferometer are carried out. The analysis is carried out by FEM simulation using commercial softwares, DEFORM, MARC and CATIA V5. In addition, the machine has attained high accuracy and repeatability. In order to improve the accuracy of this machine, the maximum speed, positioning accuracy and repeatability of feed are measured by the laser interferometer. The final results of analysis are applied to the design of a high speed feeding type three-dimensional bending machine and the machine is successfully developed.

  • Any one of the high precision spindle systems and guide way systems, the high stiffness of structure, the error compensation during assembly, high accuracy control system is inevitable technology for development of high precision machine tools. Especially, among these, design of spindle system is one of the most important technologies leading high precision of machine tool and high quality of manufactured products. A high speed and high precision spindle system, which will be used for final machining of ferrule, is designed considering the effect of heat cutting torque, cutting fore, and work-piece materials. The detailed design and analysis process are presented.

  • This paper works on the manufacture and performance evaluation of bi-polar power supplied diesinking electrical discharge machine. The design and implementation of diesinking electrical discharge machine consists of two parts which are a polarity voltage controller design and a servo motor controller design and they are verified and manufactured through simulation. The performance of the implemented machine and conventional one were evaluated by comparing its machining speed and roughness of machined surface. Eventually, the designed machine showed improved performance in the speed and the roughness.

  • An Integrated Test Facility(ITF) is a human factors experimental environment to evaluate an advanced man machine interface(MMI) design. The ITF includes a human machine simulator(HMS) comprised of a nuclear power plant function simulator, man-machine interface, experiment control station for the experiment control and design, human behavioural data measurement system, and data analysis and experiment evaluation supporting system(DAEXESS). The most important features of ITF is to secure the flexibility and expandibility of Man Machine Interlace(MMI) design to change easily the environment of experiments to accomplish the experiment's objects In this paper, we describe a development scope and characteristics of the ITF such as, hardware and software development scope and characteristics, system thermohydraulic modelling characteristics, and experiment station characteristics for the experiment variables design and control, to be used as an experiment environment for the evaluation of VDU-based control room.
