We isolated warm temperature acclimation-related protein 65-kDa (Wap65) cDNA from the liver of olive flounder and investigated the mRNA expression of Wap65 and HSP70 in olive flounder exposed to osmotic (17.5, 8.75, and 4 psu) and thermal stress (25 and $30^{\circ}C$). The mRNA expression of Wap65 and HSP70 was increased by thermal stress. The mRNA expression of HSP70 was also increased by osmotic stress, whereas no significant change in Wap65 expression was detected. These results indicate that Wap65 mRNA expression occurs specifically in response to increases in water temperature, but not in response to osmotic stress. Plasma cortisol levels were also increased by osmotic and thermal stress. We also utilized the stress hormone cortisol to examine whether Wap65 expression is thermal-stress-specific. Cortisol treatment increased HSP70 mRNA expression in vitro, but had no significant effect on Wap65 mRNA expression. Thus, thermal stress, but not osmotic stress, induces Wap65 expression.

전세계적으로 무선망과 인터넷의 연동을 위한 연구 개발이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 특히 유선에서만 제공하던 인터넷 접속을 무선 환경에서도 가능하게 해주기 위한 무선 응용 프로토콜 개발이 주된 이슈로 현재 WAP, ME, i-mode 등 다양한 솔루션이 개발되었고 서비스중에 있다. 이 중에서도 WAP는 전세계적으로 가장 많은 사용자 수를 가진 프로토콜이며, 공개된 표준이라는 점에서 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 현재 WAP와 관련된 수많은 어플리케이션이 개발되고 있으며 WAP 포럼을 중심으로 여러 표준화 단체에서 표준화 작업을 수행하고 있다. 본 고에서는 WAP에 대한 기술 개요 및 표준화 동향에 대해서 살펴본다.

In Korea, WAP and ME have been used for wireless Internet services. Two methods are different in markup languages used, therefore contents providers have to use two different markup languages to provide an internet service. To solve this problem, we present a design and implementation of a markup language conversion module between WML and M-HTML.

Genomic organization, including the structural characteristics of 5'-flanking regions of two 65-kDa protein (WAP65) isoform genes associated with warm temperature acclimation, were characterized and their transcriptional responses to immune challenges were examined in the intestine, kidney and spleen of the mud loach (Misgurnus mizolepis; Cypriniformes). Both mud loach Wap65 isoform genes displayed a 10-exon structure that is common to most teleostean Wap65 genes. The two mud loach Wap65 isoforms were predicted to possess various stress- and immune-related transcription factor binding sites in their regulatory regions; however, the predicted motif profiles differed between the two isoforms, and the inflammation-related transcription factor binding motifs, such as NF-${\kappa}B$ and CREBP sites, were more highlighted in the Wap65-2 isoform than the Wap65-1 isoform. The results of qRT-PCR indicated that experimental immune challenges using Edwardsiella tarda, lipopolysaccharide or polyI:C induced the Wap65-2 isoform more than Wap65-1 isoform, although modulation patterns in response to these challenges were tissue- and stimulant-dependent. This study confirms that functional diversification between the two mud loach Wap65 isoforms (i.e., closer involvement of Wap65-2 in the acute phase of inflammation and innate immunity) occurs at the mRNA level in multiple tissues, and suggests that such differential modulation patterns between the two isoforms are related to the different transcription factor binding profiles in their regulatory regions.

A chimeric gene comprising murine whey acidic protein(mWAP) and human growth hormone(hGH) was used to produce transgenic rats express hGH and secrete it into the blood. Two lines of transgenic rats carrying the mWAP/hGH construct were established; High line was characterized by relatively high levels of serum hGH, and low line had relatively low levels. The secretory profiles of rat GH(rGH) as well as hGH, the transgene product, were obtained in transgenic males and females of low line; both hGH and rGH serum levels were flattened with no episodic fluctuations, and the overall mean concentration of rGH was significantly lower than in normal littermates. Although the animals of High line showed an acceles, as assessed by vaginal opening and occurrence of first ovulation, advanced by 7∼8 days in both lines of animals. Accordingly, the body weight at puberty of low line transgenic females was much lower than that of normal littermates, indicating that continuous hGH expression could induce precocious puberty without enhancing the growth rate.

As the needs for wireless Internet service is increasing, the needs for secure m-commerce is also increasing. Conventional security techniques are reinforced by biometric security technique. This paper utilized the voice as biometric security techniques. We developed speaker verification system for m-commerce (mobile commerce) via wireless internet and wireless application protocol (WAP). We named this system the mVprotek. We implemented the system as client-server architecture. The clients are mobile phone simulator and personal digital assistant (PDA). The verification results are obtained by integrating the mVprotek system with SK Telecom's code dimension multiple access (CDMA) system. Utilizing f-ratio weighting and virtual cohort model normalization showed much better performance than conventional background model normalization technique.

유선인터넷의 공간제약성을 극복하고, 더 빠르고 이동성을 요구하는 사용자들에 의해 M-Commerce가 등장하였다. M-Commerce에서 상품이나 서비스를 제공받기 위하여 고객과 판매자는 이동컴퓨팅 단말을 통하여 정보를 교환한다. 그러나 무선통신 환경에서는 정보 누출의 위험이 항상 잠재적으로 내포되어 있으므로 데이터 서비스가 원활하게 제공되기 위해서는 정보보호가 반드시 선결되어야 한다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 무선인터넷 환경 솔루션을 기반으로 하여 데이터 서비스를 원활하게 제공하면서 데이터의 비밀성, 무결성, 인증 메카니즘, 부인봉쇄 서비스 등 기본적인 정보보호 서비스를 갖춘 안전한 M-Commerce 시스템을 설계하고자 한다.

A very detail instruction of a m-Business application case for small scale company is given. Two results are proved. The one is that m-business application can reduce system building and maintaining fee. The other is that m-business application should running on the mobile machine with caching some application data on it.
