Purpose: Curricula for surgical residents should include training in trauma care; however, such training is absent in many low income countries. At the largest surgical training institution in Ethiopia, a trauma training program was developed, integrated into the existing surgical curriculum, and implemented. This study was conducted to evaluate the trainees' response to the new program. Methods: Over a 5-month period, 35 first-year surgical residents participated in weekly trauma care training sessions. The program included journal clubs, practical sessions, didactic sessions, and case-based discussions. Six months after the conclusion of the training, changes in knowledge, attitude, and practices were evaluated through a self-report survey. Results: For knowledge-based items, the survey data revealed reported improvements in 83.8% to 96.8% of students. Furthermore, 90.3% to 93.5% of participants indicated improvements in practice, while 96.7% exhibited a change in attitude. Respondents reported that attending didactic courses improved their presentation skills and facilitated the acquisition of knowledge. They suggested the inclusion of additional practical sessions. Conclusions: Training structures that are simple to implement are crucial for residency programs with limited resources. Such programs can be developed using existing academic staff and can aid residents in delivering improved care to trauma patients.
The purpose of this study is to analyze college students' TV advertising information recognition, comprehension and affecting factors on them. Data were collected by a survey of college student consumers after experiments with TV commercials. ANOVA, Duncan, and stepwise multiple regression analysis were carried out with the gathered data. The results are as follows. First, the TV advertising information comprehension degree of the college students consumers were shown to be low, by 41.2%. The comprehension degree was especially low when the information was presented visually without any verbal expression. Second, assuming that the comprehension of TV advertisements is defined by a correct perceptual understanding after recognizing the consumer-deception factors, the percentage of correct answers was poor, by 29.2%. Third, according to sex, average monthly income, degree of immersion on TV commercials, advertisement attitude, and consumer education of school, the TV advertisement information recognition and comprehension showed varying degrees between the groups. In the case of women students whose average monthly income was 100 to 300 thousand Korean won, had a high degree of immersion on TV commercials, and a high degree of consumer education at school, the TV advertising information recognition was shown to be high. In the case of third year college students who had a medium level of immersion on TV commercials and a high degree of consumer education at school, the TV advertisement comprehension was high. Fourth, the high explanatory factor of TV advertising information recognition and comprehension was found to be common because of consumer education at school.

Out of 2,280 questionnaires distributed to the middle and high school students, 2,060 were returned (90.4% response rate) and 1,799 were analyzed (78.9% analysis rate). To determine factors affecting intention to participate in school breakfast programs, logistic regression analyses were conducted for middle and high school students, respectively. For logistic regression, data of 1,217 out of 1,799 students (637 middle and 580 high school students) were used after excluding 582 students which had an answer 'Not sure' to the question about intention to participate in school breakfast programs. In case of middle school students, male than female students (OR = 1.504), the students who skipped all breakfast (OR = 1.851), who ate breakfast $1{\sim}2$ times (OR = 3.474) or $3{\sim}4$ times (OR = 1.950) than those who ate breakfast everyday during weekdays of the previous week were more likely to participate in school breakfast programs. In case of high school students, male than female (OR = 1.967), the students who skipped all breakfast (OR = 4.187), the students who ate breakfast $1{\sim}2$ times (OR = 3.024) or $3{\sim}4$ times (OR = 2.095) than those who ate breakfast everyday during weekdays of the previous week were more likely to participate in school breakfast programs. In addition, both possibility of middle and high school students' participation in school breakfast programs increased as the satisfaction with school lunch service (OR = 1.704, 1.653) increased. Middle school students who perceived their household income level 'low or middle low' (OR = 1.999) than those who perceived their household income level 'middle' and the students who had more positive 'attitude' (OR = 1.311) toward eating breakfast were more likely to participate in school breakfast programs. However, high school students who had higher 'perceived difficulty in access to breakfast' (OR = 1.370) were more likely to participate in school breakfast programs. The results of this study could be useful data to plan and develop school breakfast programs in Korea.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that affect the discrimination of low-income children among children in the community children's centers. The subjects of the survey were 6th grade elementary school students who were the third respondents of the second Child Panel Survey of the community children's center, among them, 355 children whose family economy level corresponds to basic living allowance, next level, and blind spot. SPSS Statistics 25.0 was used to analyze exploratory factors, reliability analysis, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study showed that single parent family, parent social capital, parental abuse, and happiness had a significant effect on the discrimination damage of low-income children in community children's centers. The more one parent's family, the less the parent's role as a counterpart to the discussion, and the more the parental abuse, the higher the child's discrimination damage. In general, parents-related factors were affecting the discrimination damage of low-income children. Community children's centers and related institutions should focus on developing and implementing programs that can improve the quality of family relations of children.
