[ ${\pi}-conjugated$ ] organic and polymeric semiconductors are receiving considerable attention because of their suitability as an active layer for electronic devices. An organic inverter with a full swing and a high gain can be obtained through the good qualities of the transfer characteristics of organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs); for example, a low leakage current, a threshold voltage ($V_{th}$) close to 0 V, and a low sub-threshold swing. One of the most critical problems with traditional organic inverters is the high operating voltage, which is often greater than 20 V. The high operating voltage may result in not only high power consumption but also device instabilities such as hysteresis and a shift of $V_{th}$ during operation. In this paper, low-voltage and little-hysteresis pentacene OTFTs and inverters in conjunction with PEALD $Al_{2}O_{3}\;and\;ZrO_{2}$ as the gate dielectrics are demonstrated and the relationships between the transfer characteristics of OTFT and the voltage transfer characteristics (VTCs) of inverter are investigated.

A low-power compact driver for multistandard physical layer is presented. The proposed driver achieves low power and small area through the voltage-mode driver with trans-impedance configuration and the novel hybrid driver,. In the voltage-mode driver, a trans-impedance configuration alleviates the problem of limited common-mode range of error amplifiers and the area and power overhead due to pre-amplifier. For a standard with extended output swing, only current sources are added in parallel with the voltage-mode driver, which is named a 'hybrid driver'. The hybrid architecture not only increases output swing but reduces overall driver area. The overall driver occupies $0.14mm^2$. Power consumptions under 3.3-V supply are 24.5 mW for the voltage-mode driver and 44.5 mW for the hybrid driver.

TCSC can not only increase power flow but also damp low frequency oscillation by controlling firing angles of thyristors. But, a model considering voltage, current firing angles is not derived. This paper used a small signal model considirng these variables which was derived in paper [1]. TCSC model is combined with swing equation. Being related to rotor angles and firing angles of thyristors, current and synchronizing torque coefficient is reformulated. Because firing angles of thyristors can be controlled only twice within one period, swing equation is transformed to discrete time model. It is shown that low frequency oscillation can be damped by controlling firing angles in one machine infinite bus power system.

Computer modeling and optimization works have been performed for the separation of the binary mixture of 1-propanol and benzene through a pressure-swing distillation. PRO/II with PRIVISION V10.0 at Schneider Electric company and NRTL liquid activity coefficient model were utilized. The sum of the total reboiler heat duties of the low-high and high-low pressure column configurations were compared. To minimize the utility consumptions, low column, and high column to obtain pure benzene at the top, the number of theoretical stages and optimal feed tray locations for each distillation column were determined and the reflux ratios for each distillation column were also adjusted. As a result of the optimization works, the sum of the total reboiler heat duties for the high-low and low-high pressure configurations were $3.10{\times}10^6kcal/h$ and $2.75{\times}10^6kcal/h$, respectively. In the case where heat integration was applied to low-high pressure configurations, 57.36 % of the total reboiler heat duties could be saved compared to the high-low pressure configurations.
This research seeks to identify the plantar pressure distribution graph and change in force in connection with effective golf drive strokes and thus to help ordinary golfers have appropriate understanding on the moving of the center of weight and learn desirable drive swing movements. To this end, we conducted surveys on five excellent golfers to analyze the plantar pressure applied when performing golf drive strokes, and suggested dynamic variables quantitatively. 1) Our research presents the desire movements as follows. For the time change in connection with the whole movement, as a golfer raises the club head horizontally low above ground from the address to the top swing, he makes a semicircle using the left elbow joint and shaft and slowly turns his body, thus lengthening the time. And, as the golfer twists the right waist from the middle swing to the impact with the head taking address movement, and does a quick movement, thus shortening the time. 2) For the change in pressure distribution by phase, to strike a strong shot with his weight imposed from the middle swing to the impact, a golfer uses centrifugal force, fixes his left foot, and makes impact. This showed greater pressure distribution on the left sole than on the right sole. 3) For the force distribution graph by phase, the force in the sole from the address to halfway swing movements is distributed to the left foot with 46% and to the right foot with 54%. And, with the starting of down swing, as the weight shifts to the left foot, the force is distributed to the left sole with 58%. Thus, during the impact and follow through movements, it is desirable for a golfer to allow his left foot to take the weight with the right foot balancing the body. 4) The maximum pressure distribution and average of the maximum force in connection with the whole movement changed as the left (foot) and right (foot) supported opposing force, and the maximum pressure distribution also showed much greater on the left sole.

0.25$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS n-well
Vacuum swing adsorption (VSA) is a promising treatment method for volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This study focuses on a VSA process for regenerating activated carbon spent with VOCs, and then investigates its adsorption capacities. Toluene was selected as the test VOC molecule, and the VSA regeneration experiments results were compared to the thermal swing adsorption process. Cyclic adsorption-desorption experiments were performed using a lab-scale apparatus with commercial activated carbon (Samchully Co.). The VSA regeneration was performed in air (0.5 L/min) at 363.15 K and 13,332 Pa. The comparative results depicted that in terms of VSA regeneration, it was found that after the fifth regeneration, about a 90% regeneration ratio was maintained. These experiments thus confirm that the VSA regeneration process has good recovery while operating at low temperatures (363.15 K) and 13,332 Pa.
An electric swing adsorption (ESA) process for recovering highly pure $CO_2$ from the mixed gases was tested. In this study, activated carbon fibers were used as an adsorbent. The activated carbon fibers showed fast adsorption rate and the high adsorption capacity for $CO_2$ adsorption under the condition of the ambient pressure. Activated carbon fiber with higher specific surface area was suitable to repeated adsorption-desorption cycle process, showing consistent breakthrough curve. Especially, the regeneration method by vacuum combined with ESA improved the performance of desorption process by an additional 17% regeneration efficiency compared to a vacuum only method, and showed the high regeneration efficiency at comparatively low 7-8 Wh energy.

PURPOSE: Chronic low back pain is one of the main factors that affect the quality of life and cause problems of gait and balance in elderly people. This study investigated the correlation between the Oswestry disability index (ODI), Berg balance scale (BBS), and kinematic data measured while analyzing the gait of elderly people with chronic back pain. METHODS: A total of 29 subjects participated in this study. The ODI, BBS, and kinematic data of lower extremities were measured while walking. All data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficients and the significance was measured at .05. RESULTS: ODI had a significant correlation with 1, 13, and 14 items of BBS (p < .05), and left hip external rotation and right ankle abduction respectively in the stance and swing phase of gait (p < .01). 13 items of BBS had a significant correlation with the right ankle abduction in the stance phase of gait (p < .01). In addition, 14 items of BBS had a significant correlation with right and left ankle abduction in the stance and swing phase of gait (p < .01). CONCLUSION: While attempting to predict chronic low back pain and balance issues, it may be useful to check the right ankle abduction in the stance and swing phase of gait. In the future, it would be helpful if some simple tests could be designed to assess balance in elderly people with chronic low back pain.
