Algorithm for Detection of Fire Smoke in a Video Based on Wavelet Energy Slope Fitting

  • The existing methods for detection of fire smoke in a video easily lead to misjudgment of cloud, fog and moving distractors, such as a moving person, a moving vehicle and other non-smoke moving objects. Therefore, an algorithm for detection of fire smoke in a video based on wavelet energy slope fitting is proposed in this paper. The change in wavelet energy of the moving target foreground is used as the basis, and a time window of 40 continuous frames is set to fit the wavelet energy slope of the suspected area in every 20 frames, thus establishing a wavelet-energy-based smoke judgment criterion. The experimental data show that the algorithm described in this paper not only can detect smoke more quickly and more accurately, but also can effectively avoid the distraction of cloud, fog and moving object and prevent false alarm.

균열회전체의 고조파진동 해석 (Analysis of Harmonic Vibration of Cracked Rotor)

  • Harmonic vibration characteristics for the general rotor model having a breathing crack are analyzed. Analyses are performed at the half critical speed ranges. The vibration characteristics are explained by using the additional slope and bending moment at the crack position and the influence coefficient showing the structural dynamic characteristics of the rotor. With the low crack depth the magnitude of the additional slope is kept constant even at the speed range at which the orbit magnitude is very sensitive to the rotational speed change. At this speed range the vibration is affected by the influence coefficient only. As the dynamic bending moment exceeds the static bending moment with the increase of crack depth. the additional slope affects the vibration amplitude of cracked rotor and the crack propagation rate increases.

  • Autonomous vehicles are divided into an upper controller that calculates control value through cognitive judgment and a lower controller that appropriately transmits its control value to an actuator. Here, the longitudinal control in a lower controller has a problem as the road slopes due to the property of the Acceleration sensor to output the acceleration as the slope of the device. Therefore, in this paper, a sigmoid function is proposed to determine the slope to compensate for this problem. Through the experiment, Checked performance by comparing the existing table model with the proposed model.

  • In this study, discrete-time domain analysis is proposed to investigate the input current of a buck AC/DC light-emitting diode (LED) driver. The buck power factor correction converter can operate in both discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) and continuous conduction mode (CCM). Two discontinuous and two continuous conduction operating modes are possible depending on which event terminates the conduction of the main switch in a switching cycle. All four operating modes are considered in the discrete-time domain analysis. The peak current-mode control with slope compensation is used to design a low-cost AC/DC LED driver. A slope compensation design of the buck AC/DC LED driver is described on the basis of a discrete-time domain analysis. Experimental results are presented to confirm the usefulness of the proposed analysis.

경기도 광주지역 잣나무 침엽의 분광특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Spectral Characteristics of Korean White Pine (Pinus koraiensis $S_{IEB}$ et. $Z_{UCC}$) Needles in Gwangju-gun, Kyunggi-do, Korea)

  • This study was carried out to investigate spectral characterisistics and chlorophyll contents of Pinus koraiensis needles in Gwangju-gun, Kyunggi-do. In spectrum analysis by each age, needle showed difference on 700∼1,100 nm(NIR : near infrared ray). Light reflexibility keeps constant between 1st year needle and 3rd year needle, current year needle's value was higher than others and that was higher for 400∼500 nm and 600∼700 nm at 550 nm. Transmission to needle's age showed the highest result in current year needle. It showed in order of current, 1st, 2nd and 3rd year needle at 550 nm and 750 nm. Especially, current year needles of Pinus koraiensis showed a tendency to change transmission coefficient in NIR. The result of transmission coefficient measurement by each position of slope showed in order of middle slope, upper slope and lower slope. But the gathered needle in middle slope made marked change at NIR. Chlorophyll a content of the upper slope's needles was higher than other 4 positions but a component ratio was lower. In needle of the oppressed tree, Chlorophyll a content was rather low than others. Chlorophyll a content by slope positions, the upper slope's needle showed a highest value(4.48 mg/g) and lower slope was lowest value(1.35 mg/g). Chlorophyll b content also showed a similar tendency to chlorophyll a and chlorophyll(a+b) contents.

  • 산지가 약 83%의 면적을 차지하는 강원지역에서는 매년 하절기에 장마, 태풍, 집중호우에 기인한 산사태 및 토석류와 같은 사면재해로 인해 많은 피해가 발생하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 강원도 지역의 사면재해를 유발하는 강우의 특성 분석을 위해 사면재해자료, 강우자료, 산불발생자료를 수집하여 DATABASE를 구축하였다. 구축된 자료에 대한 분석결과, 사면재해는 강우가 거의 없는 시점에 발생하는 경우가 많았으며, 사변재해를 유발하는 강우는 재해발생일의 강우보다 선행강우가 더욱 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 산불발생지역에서는 산불미발생생지역에 비하여 더 작은 강우에서도 사면재해가 발생하고 있으며 특히 산불발생지역에서는 2년이하의 재현강우에서 재해 발생빈도가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다.

1인가구의 주관적 건강상태 변화: 잠재계층성장모형을 활용하여 (Trajectories of Self-rated Health among One-person Households: A Latent Class Growth Analysis)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study is to explore different types of self-rated health trajectories among one-person households in Korea. Methods: We used five time-point data derived from Korea Health Panel (2011~2015). A latent growth curve modeling was used to assess the overall feature of self-rated health trajectory in one-person households, and a latent class growth modeling was used to determine the number and shape of trajectories. We then applied multinomial logistic regression on each class to explore the predicting variables. Results: We found that the overall slope of self-rated health in one-person households decreases. In addition, latent class analysis demonstrated three classes: 1) High-Decreasing class (i.e., high intercept, significantly decreasing slope), 2) Moderate-Decreasing class (i.e., average intercept, significantly decreasing slope), and 3) Low-Stable class (i.e., low intercept, flat and nonsignificant slope). The multinomial logistic regression analysis showed that the predictors of each class were different. Especially, one-person households with poor health condition early were at greater risk of being Low-Stable class compared with High-Decreasing class group. Conclusion: The findings of this study demonstrate that more attentions to one-person households are needed to promote their health status. Policymakers may develop different health and welfare programs depending on different characteristics of one-person household trajectory groups in Korea.

히어리 개체군의 선택적 사면분포와 미기상학적 요인 (Micrometeorological Factors and Restriction to Azimuth Distribution of Corylopsis coreana Population)

  • 본 연구는 히어리 개체군의 분포가 북사면에서 제한적으로 분포하는 요인을 구명하기 위하여 실내 실험 및 전라남도 순천지역의 히어리 자생지에서 생육지(남사면과 북사면) 실험를 대상으로 종자 발아실험과 미기상 환경을 조사하였다. 종자 발아실험은 실내 및 생육 현지에서 실시하였고, 미기상 요인 측정은 히어리가 분포하는 지역과 분포하지 않는 두 지점에 대하여 기온, 지온, 습도, 토양수분 및 광량자를 각각 측정하였다. 히어리의 종자는 사면에 따른 환경에는 영향을 받지 않고 발아되어 종자의 산포 및 발아단계에서 사면의 환경 차이가 제한 요소로 작용하지 않는 것으로 판단되었다. 하지만 발아한 유묘가 정착하는 단계에서 북사면이 남사면에 비해 낮은 온도와 높은 습도를 보여, 북사면이 상대적으로 건조에 취약한 유묘의 정착에 용이한 환경을 제공하는 것으로 조사되었다. 정착단계 이후 개체군의 성립 단계에서는 북사면이 남사면에 비하여 낮은 온도와 높은 습도가 유지되었지만 그 차이는 미미하게 나타나 히어리 개체군의 성립에 있어 발아단계에서 유묘로 정착하는 초기 단계에서의 히어리 개체군의 사면적 분포특성에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인으로 작용함을 파악할 수 있었다.

FRICTION CHARACTERISTICS OF A PAPER-BASED FRICTION MATERIAL

  • A bench test set-up is employed to simulate the friction characteristics of a paper-based friction material operating against a steel plate. Dry friction tests are run as well as tests with transmission fluids. Glazed friction material produces a negative coefficient of friction versus sliding velocity (f-v) curve for both dry friction and lubrication with transmission fluids. At low sliding speeds, the coefficient of friction when operating in transmission fluids for glazed friction materials is greater than that under dry friction. An appreciable negative f-v slope occurs at low sliding speeds for glazed friction materials when running with the transmission fluid. The friction material after running in produces a constant f-v curve under dry friction and a negative slope when lubricated with transmission fluid. At low sliding speeds, the coefficient of friction of the run-in friction material is lower than that of the glazed wet material. On the other hand, the run-in friction material has a larger friction coefficient than does the glazed friction material at higher sliding speeds.

3차원 사면안정해석을 이용한 활동지괴 가장자리부의 전단저항에 관한 연구 (A Study on Shear Resistance Effect along Marginal Region of Sliding Mass using 3D Slope Stability Analysis)

  • 사면안정해석에 일반적으로 이용되는 2차원 한계평형해석에서는 활동면의 강도를 활동면 전체에 동일하게 설정한다. 그러나 사면의 활동면에서 저면부와 가장자리부의 강도는 다른 경우가 대부분이다. 4가지 절취모델을 이용한 3차원 사면안정해석의 결과에 따르면 활동면내에서 가장자리부의 저항력이 사면의 안정성에 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 3차원 사면안정해석에서 활동면 강도를 저면부와 가장자리부로 구분하여 설정함으로써 지금까지 고려하지 못했던 사면 가장자리부의 전단강도가 사면안정에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 파악할 수 있었다. 활동 저면부의 저항력이 낮은 경우에는 사면의 측부 절토에 의하여 안전율이 크게 저하되며, 저항력이 높은 경우에는 말단부 절토에 의하여 안전율이 저하되고 두부 절토에 의하여 안전율이 향상된다.
