This paper describes the design of the Register Controlled DLL(Delay-Locked Loop) that achieves fast locking and low Power consumption using a new locking algorithm. A fashion for a fast locking speed is that controls the two controller in sequence. The up/down signal due to clock skew between a internal and a external clock in phase detector, first adjusts a large phase difference in coarse controller and then adjusts a small phase difference in fine controller. A way for a low power consumption is that only operates one controller at once. Moreover the proposed DLL shows better jitter performance Because using the lock indicator circuit. The proposed DLL circuit is operated from 50MHz to 200MHz by SPICE simulation. The estimated power dissipation is 15mA at 200MHz in 3.3V operation. The locking time is within 7 cycle at all of operating frequency.
We investigate the evaluation items of LSU (Laser Scanning Unit), such as beam size, f$\theta$ characteristics, linearity, skew and bow, optical power ratio between image height of 0mm and $\pm$108 mm, pitch error, Jitter and shift of printing position. Through the measurement of LSU using BSH (Beam Scan Head) installed on LMC (Linear Motion Controller) which moves linearly within the whole scanning range (-108 mm~+108 mm), we can ascertain plastic f$\theta$ lenses, which are manufactured by TVLP (Two-step Variable Low Pressure) molding method, to satisfy 600DPI(Dots Per Inch) performance.
In this study, the characteristics of water treatment mixer with various propeller profiles are numerically invesitgated. The computation was conducted by solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations on unstructured tetrahedral elements with k-${\varepsilon}$ turbulence model. It was found that the spreading angle and swirl magnitude of the jet are important factors for the mixer efficiency, since they clearly characterize the propeller and the frontal surface area of the propeller but not so much affected by the skew angle if it exceeds 30 degrees. The case1 and case2 models are found to show the best propeller efficiency. The case2 with low blade angle, however, requires the lowest power input for the same discharge capacity as the case1.
In this paper, a new intensity measure of earthquakes for probabilistic seismic analysis is presented for skewed highway bridges. Three different cases of skewed bridges with different skew angles ($0^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$) are considered. Well-known intensity measures (e.g., PGA, $S_a$) are evaluated and critically discussed based on sensitivity analysis: efficiency, practically, proficiency and sufficiency of intensity measures are considered in detail. The analyses demonstrated that the intensity measures have to take into account structural acceleration on a wide range of periods so that a new seismic intensity measure is proposed showing that it has less dispersion compared to others. Since the proposed intensity represents the average value of the $S_a$ (between a lower and upper structural period) it has been called Averaged Spectral Acceleration (ASA). Based on performed incremental dynamic analysis (IDA), the seismic analytical fragility curves of typical skewed highway bridges have been evaluated for different states of damage controlling the low dispersion of the ASA index as well as its proficiency and sufficiency.
Optimizing composite structures to exploit their maximum potential is a realistic application with promising returns. In this research, simultaneous maximization of the fundamental frequency and frequency separation between the first two modes by optimizing the fiber angles is considered. A high-fidelity design optimization methodology is developed by combining the high-accuracy of finite element method with iterative improvement capability of metaheuristic algorithms. Three powerful nature-inspired optimization algorithms viz. a genetic algorithm (GA), a particle swarm optimization (PSO) variant and a cuckoo search (CS) variant are used. Advanced memetic features are incorporated in the PSO and CS to form their respective variants-RPSOLC (repulsive particle swarm optimization with local search and chaotic perturbation) and CHP (co-evolutionary host-parasite). A comprehensive set of benchmark solutions on several new problems are reported. Statistical tests and comprehensive assessment of the predicted results show CHP comprehensively outperforms RPSOLC and GA, while RPSOLC has a little superiority over GA. Extensive simulations show that the on repeated trials of the same experiment, CHP has very low variability. About 50% fewer variations are seen in RPSOLC as compared to GA on repeated trials.

This paper proposes a 6b 1.2 GS/s 47.8 mW 0.17 $mm^2$ 65 nm CMOS ADC for high-rate wireless personal area network systems. The proposed ADC employs a source follower-free flash architecture with a wide input range of 1.0 $V_{p-p}$ at a 1.2 V supply voltage to minimize power consumption and high comparator offset effects in a nanometer CMOS technology. The track-and-hold circuits without source followers, the differential difference amplifiers with active loads in pre-amps, and the output averaging layout scheme properly handle a wide-range input signal with low distortion. The interpolation scheme halves the required number of pre-amps while three-stage cascaded latches implement a skew-free GS/s operation. The two-step bubble correction logic removes a maximum of three consecutive bubble code errors. The prototype ADC in a 65 nm CMOS demonstrates a measured DNL and INL within 0.77 LSB and 0.98 LSB, respectively. The ADC shows a maximum SNDR of 33.2 dB and a maximum SFDR of 44.7 dB at 1.2 GS/s. The ADC with an active die area of 0.17 $mm^2$ consumes 47.8 mW at 1.2 V and 1.2 GS/s.

This paper proposes a robust license plate extraction method from images taken under unconstrained environments. Utilization of the color and the edge information in complementary fashion makes the proposed method deal with not only various lighting conditions, hilt blocking artifacts frequently observed in compressed images. Computational complexity is significantly reduced by applying Hough transform to estimate the skew angle, and subsequent do-skewing procedure only to the candidate regions. The true plate region is determined from the candidates under examination using clues including the aspect ratio, the number of zero crossings from vertical scan lines, and the number of connected components. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated using compressed images collected under various realistic circumstances. The experimental results show 94.9% of correct license plate extraction rate.
With the proliferation of wireless network and the advances of the embedded systems, the traditional distributed systems begin to include the wireless embedded systems. Clock synchronization in the distributed systems is one of the major issues that should be considered for diverse Purposes including synchronization, ordering, and consistency. Many clock synchronization algorithms have been proposed over the years. Since clock synchronization in wireless embedded systems should consider the low bandwidth of a network and the poor resources of a system, most traditional algorithms cannot be applied directly. We propose a clock synchronization algorithm in wireless embedded systems, extending IEEE 802.11 standard. The proposed algorithm can not only achieve high precision by loosening constraints and utilizing the characteristics of wireless broadcast but also provide continuous time synchronization by tolerating the message losses. In master/slave structure the master broadcasts the time information and the stave computes the clock skew and the drift to estimate the synchronized time of the master. The experiment results show that the achieved standard deviation by the Proposed scheme is within the bound of about 200 microseconds.
Recently, there have been various research efforts to develop strategies for accelerating OLAP operations on huge amounts of spatio-temporal data. Most of the work is based on multi-tree structures which consist of a single R-tree variant for spatial dimension and numerous B-trees for temporal dimension. The multi~tree based frameworks, however, are hardly applicable to spatio-temporal OLAP in practice, due mainly to high management cost and low query efficiency. To overcome the limitations of such multi-tree based frameworks, we propose a new approach called Hilbert Cube(H-Cube), which employs fractals in order to impose a total-order on cells. In addition, the H-Cube takes advantage of the traditional Prefix-sum approach to improve Query efficiency significantly. The H-Cube partitions an embedding space into a set of cells which are clustered on disk by Hilbert ordering, and then composes a cube by arranging the grid cells in a chronological order. The H-Cube refines cells adaptively to handle regional data skew, which may change its locations over time. The H-Cube is an adaptive, total-ordered and prefix-summed cube for spatio-temporal data warehouses. Our approach focuses on indexing dynamic point objects in static spatial dimensions. Through the extensive performance studies, we observed that The H-Cube consumed at most 20% of the space required by multi-tree based frameworks, and achieved higher query performance compared with multi-tree structures.
