잡음환경에서 Teager Energy 기반의 전역 음성부재확률을 이용하는 음성검출 (Voice Activity Detection Using Global Speech Absence Probability Based on Teager Energy in Noisy Environments)

  • 본 논문에서는 잡음환경에서 효과적인 음성을 검출하기 위한 새로운 음성 검출 (VAD, voice activity detection) 알고리즘을 제안한다. 통계적 모델에 기반의 Likelihood ratio (LR)를 통하여 도출되는 전역 음성부재확률 (GSAP, global speech absence probability)은 음성검출을 위한 피쳐 (feature) 파라미터로 널리 적용되고 있다. 하지만 신호 대 잡음 비 (SNR, signal-to-noise ratio)가 낮은 잡음환경에서는 정확한 GSAP 추정이 어려운 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 제안된 방법에서는 잡음환경에서 강인한 VAD 알고리즘을 위하여 Teager energy (TE) 기반의 GSAP를 피쳐 파라미터로 적용한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 기존의 방법과 객관적인 실험을 통해 비교 평가한 결과 다양한 배경잡음 환경에서 향상된 성능을 보였다.

Dwell Time Optimization of Alert-Confirm Detection for Active Phased Array Radars

  • Alert-confirm detection is a highly efficient method to improve phased array radar search performance. It comprises sequential detection in two steps: alert detection, in which a target is detected at a low detection threshold, and confirm detection, which is triggered by alert detection with a longer dwell time to minimize false alarms. This paper provides a design method for applying the alert-confirm detection to multifunctional radars. We find optimum dwell times and false alarm probabilities for each alert detection and confirm detection under the dual constraints of total false alarm probability and maximum allowable dwell time per position. These optimum values are expressed as a function of the mean new target appearance rate. The proposed alert-confirm detection increases the maximum detection range even with a shorter frame time than that of uniform scanning.

CCSK 변조방식을 사용하는 LPD 시스템을 위한 동기 기법 (Synchronization Scheme for CCSK based LPD Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 LPD (Low Probability of Detection) 특성을 갖는 CCSK (Cyclic Code Shift Keying) 기반의 통신 시스템에서 초기 시간 및 주파수 동기를 획득하기 위한 기법을 제안한다. LPD 통신 시스템은 통신 링크가 의도된 수신기 외에 다른 수신기에서 검파되지 않기 위한 목적으로 설계된 시스템으로 낮은 SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) 영역에서 동작하는 CCSK 변조 기법을 이용하여 구현 가능하다. CCSK 기반의 통신 시스템이 정상적으로 동작하기 위해서는 초기 동기가 수행되어야 하지만 낮은 SNR 영역에서 시간 및 주파수 동기를 추정해야하는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 LPD 특성을 갖는 CCSK 기반의 통신 시스템에서 반복패턴을 이용한 초기 시간 및 주파수 동기 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 낮은 SNR 영역에서 동작이 가능한 장점이 있다.

  • 전송되는 정보들의 가로채기 확률을 감소시키기 위한 피감청 기술 중 대표적인 대역확산통신 기법을 적용함으로써 통신 성능에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이를 통해 최적의 은밀 수중음향통신 시스템의 모델을 제안한다. 대역확산 통신 된 신호의 레벨이 낮아져 주변의 배경소음과 같은 레벨로 전송하기 때문에 피탐지 확률이 감소하고 은밀성의 특징을 갖게 된다. 본 논문에서는 BCJR(Bahl, Cocke, Jelinek, Raviv) 복호방법과 대역 확산 기법 중 직접 수열 대역 확산 기법을 적용하였으며, 은밀 수중 통신에서 고려되는 송수신 모델은 크게 두 가지로 나뉘는데, 경판정 기반의 송수신 모델과 반복기반의 터보 등화 모델의 성능을 시뮬레이션과 호수 실험을 통해 성능을 비교 분석하였다.

소 질병 검출을 위한 혈청학적 검사의 민감도 평가 (Sensitivity analysis of serological tests for detection of disease in cattle)

  • Animal disease surveillance system, defined as the continuous investigation of a given population to detect the occurrence of disease or infection for control purposes, has been key roles to assess the health status of an animal population and, more recently, in international trade of animal and animal products with regard to risk assessment. Especially, for a system aiming to determine whether or not a disease is present in a population sensitivity of the system should be maintained high enough not to miss an infected animal. Therefore, when planning the implementation of surveillance system a number of factors that affecting surveillance sensitivity should be taken into account. Of these parameters sample size is of important, and different approaches are used to calculate sample size, usually depending on the objective of surveillance systems. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sensitivity of the current national serological surveillance programs for four selected bovine diseases assuming a specified sampling plan, to examine factors affecting the probability of detection, and to provide sample sizes required for achieving surveillance goal of detecting at least an infection in a given population. Our results showed that, for example, detecting low level of prevalence (0.2% for bovine tuberculosis) requires selection of all animals per typical Korean cattle farm (n = 17), and thus risk-based target surveillance for high risk groups can be an alternative strategy to increase sensitivity while not increasing overall sampling efforts. The minimum sample size required for detecting at least one positive animal was sharply increased as the disease prevalence is low. More importantly, high reliability of prevalence estimation was expected with increased sampling fraction even when zero-infected animal was identified. The effect of sample size is also discussed in terms of the maximum prevalence when zero-infected animals were identified and on the probability of failure to detect an infection. We suggest that for many serological surveillance systems, diagnostic performance of the testing method, sample size, prevalence, population size, and statistical confidence need to be considered to correctly interpret results of the system.

  • In order to various service types of real time and non-real time traffic with varying requirements are transmitted over the IEEE 802.16 standard is expected to provide quality of service(QoS) researchers have explored to provide a queue management scheme with differentiated loss guarantees for the future Internet. The sides of a packet drop rate, an each class to differential drop probability on achieving a low delay and high traffic intensity. Improved a queue management scheme to be enhanced to offer a drop probability is desired necessarily. This paper considers multiple random early detection with differential drop probability which is a slightly modified version of the Multiple-RED(Random Early Detection) model, to get the performance of the best suited, we analyzes its main control parameters (maxth, minth, maxp) for achieving the proportional loss differentiation (PLD) model, and gives their setting guidance from the analytic approach. we propose Dynamic-multiple queue management scheme based on differential drop probability, called Dynamic-VQSDDP(Variable Queue State Differential Drop Probability)T, is proposed to overcome M-RED's shortcoming as well as supports static maxp parameter setting values for relative and each class proportional loss differentiation. M-RED is static according to the situation of the network traffic, Network environment is very dynamic situation. Therefore maxp parameter values needs to modify too to the constantly and dynamic. The verification of the guidance is shown with figuring out loss probability using a proposed algorithm under dynamic offered load and is also selection problem of optimal values of parameters for high traffic intensity and show that Dynamic-VQSDDP has the better performance in terms of packet drop rate. We also demonstrated using an ns-2 network simulation.

  • This paper proposes a repeat-back jamming signal detection scheme that utilizes a combined pseudo random noise signal that is effective for processing a global positioning system (GPS) repeat-back jamming signal with the early minus late phase scheme to alleviate any existing multipath signal detection. The proposed scheme uses the combined pseudo random noise signal to treat repeat-back jamming signals like similar multipath signals and can effectively detect a repeat-back jamming signal by applying the early minus late phase scheme to a combined pseudo random noise signal. Through a Monte-Carlo simulation, the detection probability of the proposed scheme is better than the one of the conventional scheme under low jamming to signal power ratio.

  • In this paper, we consider a code acquisition of W-CDMA signals over multipath Rayleigh fading channel when double-dwell serial search code acquisition is used for initial synchronization. We derive the detection and false alarm probability, and mean acquisition time mathematically by taking into account of multiple H$\_$l/ cells and double-dwell serial search. It is noteworthy that the more the number of the post-detection integration, the shorter the mean acquisition time in low SNR.

  • Adaptive filter based code acquisition scheme offers a fast acquisition with a low error probability. However, it has been studied only under a coherent environment. In this paper, the noncoherent adaptive code acquisition scheme employing a differential detection technique is proposed. For the proposed scheme, system probabilities and the mean acquisition time are analyzed numerically. Simulation results show that the proposed system outperforms over the conventional matched filter by 2-4 ㏈ under AWGN channel for 16 taps.
