Unmanned aircraft system traffic management (UTM) service for the safe operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) such as drones using commercial communication networks such as long-term evolution (LTE) and 5G in low-altitude areas of 150m or less is being studied in several countries. In this paper, whether it is possible to secure three-dimensional (3D) coverage for UTM service using the existing LTE cellular network for terrestrial usersis analyzed through simulations. The practicality in the real environment is confirmed by performing performance analysis in the actual topographical environment and the LTE base station layouts in Korea. According to the analysis results, as the altitude increases, the number of line-of-sight (LOS) interference base stations increases, resulting in a worse signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR), but coverage is secured except for the limited areas within 150m. was confirmed to be possible. In addition, it is confirmed that a significant proportion of outage areas could be reduced by placing a small number of additional base stations for the outage area.

Due to the development of drones, drone missions are performed in various fields, and BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line Of Sight) flight is performed in a wide area. Most drones operate through radio frequency (RF) communication and can only fly in a limited radius of about 1-2 km. To overcome this, in this paper, we propose a multi-communication protocol-based drone control system to control drones performing missions in BVLOS using RF and LTE (Long Term Evolution). The proposed system consists of a control unit and a drone unit. The control unit transmits one control signal generated from the remote controller through RF and LTE. The drone unit classifies the control signal transmitted through RF and LTE according to the priority of the communication protocol and delivers it to the FC (Flight Controller). Through the proposed control system, it is possible to overcome the RF communication distance limit and prevent the communication disconnection situation.

LTE-A (long term evolution advanced) uplink selected SC-FDMA (single carrier frequency division multiple access) to maintain low PAPR for a low price and tiny terminal. Recently, the application of codebook-based preceding to LIE-A uplink is discussed. This paper shows that PAPR can be increased when various preceding schems are applied to the SC-FDMA as an LTE-A uplink. When, considering nonlinear power amplifier model to the transmitter, BER performances of preceded schemes degrade. But equal gain transmission scheme does show very low PAPR. So the link-level performance of EGT is superior to those of any other preceding schemes. Computer simulations also confirm the anticipated link-level performances.

The burgeoning growth of real-time applications, such as interactive video and VoIP, places a heavy demand for a high data rate and guarantee of QoS from a network. This is being addressed by fourth generation networks such as Long-Term Evolution (LTE). But, the mobility of user equipment that needs to be handed over to a new evolved node base-station (eNB) while maintaining connectivity with high data rates poses a significant challenge that needs to be addressed. Handover (HO) normally takes place at cell borders, which normally suffers high interference. This inter-cell interference (ICI) can affect HO procedures, as well as reduce throughput. In this paper, soft frequency reuse (SFR) and multiple preparations (MP), so-called SFRAMP, are proposed to provide a seamless and fast handover with high throughput by keeping the ICI low. Simulation results using LTE-Sim show that the outage probability and delay are reduced by 24.4% and 11.9%, respectively, over the hard handover method - quite a significant result.
In this paper, we investigate the scheduling and power allocation for coordinated multi-point transmission in downlink long term evolution advanced (LTE-A) systems, where orthogonal frequency division multiple-access is used. The proposed scheme jointly optimizes user selection, power allocation, and modulation and coding scheme (MCS) selection to maximize the weighted sum throughput with fairness consideration. Considering practical constraints in LTE-A systems, the MCSs for the resource blocks assigned to the same user need to be the same. Since the optimization problem is a combinatorial and non-convex one with high complexity, a low-complexity algorithm is proposed by separating the user selection and power allocation into two subproblems. To further simplify the optimization problem for power allocation, the instantaneous signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and the average SINR are adopted to allocate power in a single cell and multiple coordinated cells, respectively. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can improve the average system throughput and the cell-edge user throughput significantly compared with the existing schemes with limited feedback.
A green cognitive radio network (CRN), characterized by base stations (BSs) that conserve energy during sleep periods, is a promising candidate for realizing more efficient spectrum allocation. To improve the spectrum efficiency and achieve greener communication in wireless applications, we consider CRNs with an long term evolution advanced (LTE-A) structure and propose a novel energy-saving strategy. By establishing a type of preemptive priority queueing model with a single vacation, we capture the stochastic behavior of the proposed strategy. Using the method of matrix geometric solutions, we derive the performance measures in terms of the average latency of secondary user (SU) packets and the energy-saving degree of BSs. Furthermore, we provide numerical results to demonstrate the influence of the sleeping parameter on the system performance. Finally, we compare the Nash equilibrium behavior and social optimization behavior of the proposed strategy to present a pricing policy for SU packets.

In this paper, 0.8 GHz and 1.8 GHz dual-band antenna was designed for global system for mobile communications (GSM) and the Long Term Evolution (LTE) The proposed antenna was made using CST Microwave Studio 2009. My script antenna's substrate is Taconic TLY-5 and dielectric constant is 2,2 and has 1.0mm thickness with a compact design of the proposed antenna, Thus it shows that this proposed antenna can be used in Wireless Communication System.

Long Tenn Evolution (LTE) is the next generation mobile phone technology which has being standardized by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). In the existing mobile communication networks, voice traffic is delivered through circuit switched networks. In LTE, however, all kinds of traffic are transferred through IP based packet switched networks which has best-effort characteristic. Therefore, providing QoS in LTE system is difficult. In order to provide QoS in LTE, RRM is very important. Especially, in part of RRM, call admission control (CAC) performs an important function to reduce network congestion and guarantee a certain level of QoS for on-going calls. In this paper, we propose a CAC algorithm in order to provide QoS for various kinds of services in LTE system. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated with various simulation environments. The results show that the proposed algorithm provides QoS through rejections of requested calls. Especially, the proposed CAC algorithm can be satisfied with packet delay requirement defined in LTE specification.

Due to the increasing demand of network convergence, in future, hybrid/integrated satellite and terrestrial systems will play an important role. In that case, compatibilities between the satellite and terrestrial systems are very important for efficiency of the systems. 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) is one of the most powerful candidates of the 4G system Therefore, in this paper, we introduce the design of interleaver for mobile satellite system based 3GPP LTE specification. The 4G system including the LTE specification adopted adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) schemes for efficient usage of resources, and the updating interval of resource allocation is an order of msec. However, because of the long round trip delay of satellite systems, we cannot employ the same AMC scheme specified for the terrestrial system, and thus it cannot effectively counteract to short term fadings. Therefore, in order to overcome these problems, we propose an interleaver scheme combined with AMC. We present the interleaγer design results considering mobile satellite system based on the LTE and analyze the simulation results.
