  • Sign-in point of interest (POI) are extremely sparse in location-based social networks, hindering recommendation systems from capturing users' deep-level preferences. To solve this problem, we propose a content-aware POI recommendation algorithm based on a convolutional neural network. First, using convolutional neural networks to process comment text information, we model location POI and user latent factors. Subsequently, the objective function is constructed by fusing users' geographical information and obtaining the emotional category information. In addition, the objective function comprises matrix decomposition and maximisation of the probability objective function. Finally, we solve the objective function efficiently. The prediction rate and F1 value on the Instagram-NewYork dataset are 78.32% and 76.37%, respectively, and those on the Instagram-Chicago dataset are 85.16% and 83.29%, respectively. Comparative experiments show that the proposed method can obtain a higher precision rate than several other newer recommended methods.

  • In this paper we have proposed a power aware location based routing protocol for wireless ad hoc network. The existing greedy perimeter stateless routing (GPSR) has some problems which are certain node overloaded and void situation. The proposed power aware greedy perimeter stateless routing (PAGPSR) protocol gives a solution for these problems in GPSR. PAGPSR uses power aware and geographically informed neighbor selection to route a packet towards the destination. It also gives a solution for the fundamental problem in geographical routing called communication void. It considers residual energy of battery and distance to the destination for the next hope node selection. When it encounters a void it starts limited-flooding to select next hop node. To evaluate the performance of our protocol we simulated PAGPSR in ns-2. Our simulation results show that our protocol achieves longer network lifetime compared with greedy perimeter stateless routing (GPSR).

  • Ubiquitous home is emerging as the future digital home environments that provide various ubiquitous home services like u-Life, u-Health, etc. It is composed of some home appliances and sensors which are connected through wired/wireless network. Ubiquitous home services become aware of user's context with the information gathered from sensors and make home appliances adapt to the current home situation for maximizing user convenience. In these context-aware home environments, it is the one of significant research topics to predict user behaviors in order to proactively control the home environment. In this paper, we propose Multi-Level prediction algorithm for context-aware services in ubiquitous home environment. The algorithm has two phases, prediction and execution. In the first prediction phase, the next location of user is predicted using tree algorithm with information on users, time, location, devices. In the second execution phase, our table matching method decides home appliances to run according to the prediction, device's location, and user requirement. Since usually home appliances operate together rather than separately, our approach introduces the concept of mode service, so that it is possible to control multiple devices as well as a single one. We also devised some scenarios for the conceptual verification and validated our algorithm through simulations.

  • In recent years, LBS(Location Based Service) is applied in many different fields. Therefore, various location-aware schemes have been studied. In the location awareness system using time dependent algorithm, TOA(Time of Arrival) or TDOA(Time Difference of Arrival) algorithm, distortion of a signal by AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise) and multi-path effects cause the degradation of location awareness performance. In this paper, the unexpected noise is eliminated by averaging multiple pulses in order to overcome the degradation of performance. Also, we research the technique for improving the performance of the location awareness by detecting direct-path signal with adjusting threshold.

  • This paper presents a context-aware information service system in public places that have complex processes, for the disabled and the elderly. The system infers context of a user which is derived from the user's demand, then it informs to the user -what to do, where to go-according to the context. Our system gets user's context from sensor data and informations from the local information system. The system provides more suitable information with a knowledge model, which organizes location and process data coordinately. The information is provided personally to the user, with mobile devices.

  • Augmentative and alternative communication(AAC) is a communication tool for those with impairments or restrictions on the production or comprehension of spoken language. Traditional AAC has used a portable board with pictures and texts with which disabled person could be supported by it. Currently, smart phone based AAC researches and developments are actively studying. With emerging concepts of context-aware computing, the mobile devices can provide mobile users with timely information and location based services. We proposed a adjustable AAC system for disabled people of which has variable layouts and selectable items. We also implemented context-ware application for AAC systems including time, location and click count informations on smart phone. The system can adaptively change its layout and select AAC items depending on various situation of disabled persons.

  • Geographic routing has been considered as an efficient, simple, and scalable routing protocol for wireless sensor networks since it exploits pure local location information instead of global topology information to route data packets. Geographic routing requires the sources nodes to be aware of the location of sinks. Most existing geographic routing protocols merely assume that source nodes are aware of the locations of sinks. How can source nodes get the locations of sinks was not addressed in detail. In this paper, we propose a sink location service via circle path for geographic routing in wireless sensor networks. In this scheme, a sink sends a Sink Location Announcement (SLA) message along a circle path, and a source node sends a Sink Location Query (SLQ) message along a straight path that certainly passes through the circle path. By this way we can guarantee the SLQ path and SLA path have at least one crossing point. The node located on the crossing point of the two paths informs the source node the sink location. This procedure can correctly work in any irregular profile sensor networks such as network that has holes or irregular shape by some rules. Simulation results show that our protocol is superior to other protocols in terms of energy consumption and control overhead.

  • Mobile devices equipped with various sensors have the potential of providing context-aware services. Location is one of the most common forms of context, which can be applied to diverse applications. In this paper, we present methods for learning and predicting users' routes between significant locations, e.g., home and workplaces, based on personal GPS data. A user's significant locations and routes between them are learned by a set of rules as well as clustering. When the user is moving, our methods can predict which of the learned routes is being taken now. After the route prediction, the user's next location can also be inferred. Our methods have been applied to the real GPS datasets from four subjects. For the next location prediction task, the achieved accuracy was 84.8%.

  • The internet and wireless communication technologies are creating ubiquitous environments in which various services are expected anytime and anywhere. Many hardware facilities have been developed and system structures are suggested for mobile services to realize a ubiquitous computing environment with appropriate quality. But these applications are not designed in the consideration of the general capabilities to perform user's wireless and mobile communication/transaction. Consequently, different needs from users are not sufficiently satisfied yet. In this study, we suggest structure of the emerging network system for mobile commerce that provides users with seamless and ubiquitous environments using location information which exploit context-aware technology.
